How did Paul Pogba DESTROY his career?

- Paul Pogba could have become a Manchester United or Juventus legend if he wanted. Sir Alex Ferguson, Jose Mourinho, Massimiliano Allegri have all believed in his talent. His status could very well match his once teammates, Wayne Rooney, Paul Scholes, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Andrea Pirlo, or Gianluigi Buffon. But apart from the national team and a few years in Juventus, nothing seemed to click for the Frenchman. Now looking straight to the demise of his career, Pogba is already being called the biggest wasted talent.

To call him a "wasted talent" is a bit strong. He had the highest transfer fee in the world for a while. Was having a weekly salary higher than Messi, played for 2 iconic clubs twice, scored a goal in the World cup final 2018 against Croatia, and lifted the World Cup. He's made football history.
Goetze also scored the winning goal for germany and you can name him a wasted talent..
Wasted potential would be a better way to describe him
@@its3amagain.bit different Gotzë came off the bench in the final. Pogba was one of the main men.
I do agree he's not a wasted talent. He has got a good trophy haul to be fair. He's made millions over the years. He's now over 30yrs old, was already breaking down physically.. he probs would have only had two or 3 more years at it anyway.

Talent can get you to the top, but Character will determine if you stay there or come crashing down
That's the smartest comment I heard all week. Thanks brother
Old saying that says beauty will get you a man (marriage) but character will determine the duration of the relationship
You nailed it. Hammered the nail spot on 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Because of his mentality instead!

his career was not that horrible, he is a world cup winner, Seri A winner, Europa league winner, was in champions league final and made lots of money. Let's rather celebrate him.
FACT
It's not that he didn't achieve much, it's what he could have achieved if not for injury and attitude problems. Yeah and steroids
@@BenColletti When did he get caught? last year? He was 30 years already.
He missed maybe 2 3 years tops.
What could he have done in those 2-3 years when he was passed his best form?
Not much if you ask me. At man u he would never win the CL.
Possibly with france he could have won something but thats about it.
Yeah but he's a massive gobshite

You should have allowed Mourinho to guide you oh Pogba but you fought the man
same with Dele Alli. How can you not listen to Mou. Will never understand..
Jose? The guy that played pogba at cdm and CB? Shutup man
he was the main shit-stirrer in the dressing room against, and responsible for Mou's exit. Karma at its BEST!
What is your best memory of Paul Pogba?
The match he scored two goals for a comeback against Manchester city🚀🤤
Dabbing
Life ban
As a Manchester United❣❤ fan i can only remember the best of pogba
Mourinho meant well. Sanctioning a record fee of £89m, shows the trust Mou had in Pogba. The pair had a great relationship however Pogba after that World Cup feat despised Mourinho and the entire United Team that had such enormous trust in him. That was the beginning of the end. The board of United also played a part in his downfall when they backed the player against the coach
It's a privilege that we are able to watch your videos for free❤
Y'all are amazing
Mino Raiola was like poison to football. He helped to destroy Pogba's relationship with United and turned the fans against the player
I won't argue about Raiola, you're dead right there, but Pogba himself did a lot to turn the Utd fans against him. He didn't work anything like hard enough and consequently became inconsistent, and often appeared to be taking little interest in the game, and just coasting. And when United fans saw him playing at the top of his game wearing the blue shirt of France, they became exasperated, why couldn't he play like that for them?
@@justinchetham-strode5234True. As agent he did want he need, zlatan also under raiola but he not problematic as pogba. Pogba literally turn himself into diva
I dissagree. Raiola wasnt one if the best and biggest agents there was in football.
Its the players who chose him.
So in the end its all the players choice.
Raiola just made sure it happened and squeesed every little bit out of it he could.
He just did his job.
Kinda like saying a lawyer ruins someones life cause he got someone convicted.
@@flapdrol75 he was poisonous. He was willing to destroy his player's fanbase to line his own pocket. He took Pogba from a settled United to Juv, lining his pocket in the process, then when the player got settled and was playing some decent football at Juv, he took him back to a dysfunctional United, once again lining his pocket in the process
@@MD_ENTERTAINMENT Because that is what pogba wanted.
He had alot of players under him and some went the normal classy way by playing some years for a team before making a step respectfully.
He did what the players wanted and filling his own pockets too.
But he was loved by all his players just not by us fans.
He became too greedy. And self centred. Life will fetch you. Gotta be humble.
He needed veterans around him, he was good while playing with pirlo in juventus his best years, the manchester team was too young and lacked vets, i mean, manchester lacks everything at that point not only his fault.
@@gsuandre5579 he has Rooney, Ibrahimovic, Ronaldo and etc around him, but he tends to grow liking towards likes of Jesse Lingard. Rooney once said that one day they lost a game horribly and when he came back to dressing room he saw Pogba and Jesse dancing. Some people are destined to downfall if they don't stay disciplined
I agree he needed guidance
And who are you??? go away
@@gsuandre5579 True not entirely hos fault but as a man you have to be accountable for your own actions. And if I was him I would've stayed humble particularly after winning the world Cup. Even though United was trash. He should've done his part and wait for a perfect move. Madrid didn't even want at that point when he left United. To show that his stock was low.
Let's say Pogba had a short, yet super successful career. He's achieved what most footballers can only dream of.
People call Mourinho names, but he is spot on with his assessment. Pogba, then Dele Alli
And martial
This channel brings back memories
Italian league title, UEFA trophy, the World Cup, and other honours: definitely not a wasted talent.
However, now that he has time to reflect, Mourinho's words ought to loom large in his consciousness. He had the chance to work under two great minds in Ferguson and Mourinho but listened to neither.
Great baller, but....
SAF understood Pogba as a junior and time showed he was dead right. He got shot.
The 4 year ban and the inconsistencies was such a shame. Pogba is in his day, in the same conversation with Modric, Xavi and Zidane. An incredible passer, my goodness he was good!
He should not have engaged Mino Raiola. Should have the humility to stay put at Man Utd under Ferguson. If he has left, he should not have gone back to Man Utd. Real Madrid would have been a better choice. BUT his attitude will always get him into trouble sooner or later
A brilliant footballer, an absolute phenom! Hoping time heals everything.

@salaudeenilyas3680 Yeah... I suspect the brother.
You are a good storyteller bro 👊🏾
This is really sad man, the parts where everything just breaks down in in his life😢
What a touching story of a star. Always better to stay humble in everything but decisive against disrespect 🎉
This is an interesting piece. However, the story is touching for someone who has been a fan of his style of play.
United were on their way up until that spat with pagba nad mourinho, letting mourinho go was the biggest mistake manU have done in a decade.
It's a shame how it all ended for a super talent.
Someone should make a doc/movie about his journey. Pogba should be able to tell his story and truth!
That's what this is
When I watched France's games at EURO 2016, I was paying some attention to him since there were noises coming out of Italy about this kid who snubbed Fergie back then. He was nothing special to me - a lot of flashy moves, not always making the most effective decisions, rather lazy at tracking back, and needs too much freedom from tactical discipline. And that was a time when he was supposedly at his peak concurrently at both club and country level. Rather shocked to see him move to United a month later and never expected him to hit any great heights, let alone stay at those heights.
True enough, as Mourinho said long after he was sack by United: watch certain players and where they will be in a few years, if they will even play.
Couldn't agree more, I had a very similar impression of him during Euro 2016 as well. Doesn't help that I'm a United fan too lol
He will always be my all time fav player, had excellent vision and skills like no other
I’m sure you are at the very top of your own field and have fully tapped every ounce of your potential.
@@hashimrahman51 i am in fact at the top of my field. a rebuttal like yours is more of a reflection of you.
Another amazing story by Benjamin Pavard!
wow the 30 minutes story ended shortly for me. It's really hard appearing in his shoes but as to my opinion, Whatever knowledge or skill do we have, if we're not disciplined for it, Permanently we can't stay at the top. Since he reached a top player early at his younger age, he missed a good advisor and mentor around him to become humble and mature. He was also mentally unstable due to his family situation. I think his injury showed somewhat how much he was unlucky too. But I wish him all the best and he is one of my best players shortly seen ever!! your story telling is so catchy and interesting! Thank you
Good job 👏🏾
I think the injuries was part of the problem, pogba wanted to play football so bad but the injuries kept coming to him,. So he tried those doping medication without knowing, he was tired of injuries. FREE PP
I wouldn’t say he was a completely wasted talent he still had a good career he just didn’t fulfill his maximum potential but he still has good silverware and achievements behind him especially with the national team.
What's the beat at 30:10? Great vid.
Good player that we all were waiting to take that next step into greatness. He showed glimpses in fairness, but not enough to be considered one of the greats.

Good Video!
I like the video but music is a bit too loud, at least for my taste.
He could have come to United and been the hero by digging in, working hard, and being a leader on and off the pitch. Instead, it always seemed that he was more concerned about his 'brand', and walking around the pitch like the match was interrupting his day. Was never happier to see the back of a player (until CR departed a few years later).
Thank god Bruno stepped into the leader role and showed us supporters that there was some hope.
His biggest mistake was hiring Mino Raiola...
not gonna talk bad about dead people but this guy really..
You make your own bed my friend in 99.9% of life’s circumstances.

TOP CLASS SCRIPT WORK ON THE INTRO
His debut I thought he from Ivory Coast because the way he play, pace and speciality.
Tbh this made me cry
Although his exit is the worst that can happen to an athlete, he has been part of or the creator of many amazing and extraordinary moments. He should be proud of what he has achieved, with home schooling. 😅
his off pitch issues affected his performance on the pitch
Legend never die
Pogba's charismatic and eccentric character couldn't keep up with his physical shape, his play style was very physical being a box to box midfielder with some of the best foot work and dribbling abilities. I don't think falling short of expectations for United means much because just about every single signing United has signed since Martial signing hasn't quite lived up to expectations or the sort of demands the club wanted. Pogba is a victim of his own success which caused issues all around him, entourage, family and club. I hope he heals up and comes back, although I'm sure the ban will be the death knell for him, hopefully he can have it shortened, but sadly it will probably be too late for him and France has moved on without him which is a real damn shame.
Pogba carrier died due to his family issue. They used him selfishly to their benefits. Without really being their for him. Getting pressure from immediate family, then pressure from the manager, then from fans, and then drug introduced by his friend and doctor costed him.
Pogba act weird when he was unable to manage the pressure.
Him coming back to football cannot be possible.. i wish him all the best
His worst mistake is going against Mourinho. He knew exactly what he was talking about and what he said about Pogba, although a bit harsh, is 100% correct. Pogba should have just listened to the man and matured up. Ofc the things in his personal life was bad, thats where is his football career actually started free falling.
PP would always be part of my Team for any competition, any where, all day !
He is one of my all time favorite players…..it’s so sad
This is really a sad story of Pogba
CHARACTER! CHARACTER!! CHARACTER!!! This is the only thing that can take you farther than talent. Character keeps you level-headed and less erratic.
Well said - Talent without Character is like a ticking time bomb especially for Athletes at the world stage.
His character wasn’t an issue. Some of the world’s best players have worse characters (*cough*CR7*cough*) and honestly, he’s one of the friendliest and nicest players ever seen if you followed his exposed social life. What sabotaged his career were his negative entourage (sleazy siblings and agent) and injury-ridden body which never allowed him to maximize his potential/longevity.
That Juve team was fun asf to watch
Interesting cameo of Lingard. I wonder if anyone from that generation came out good?

the boy did very well. it's just a testament to how good he actually was with how many ppl that say he was failed or wasted lol.
his only issues are his greedy family and friends. and if he had more conviction and confidence in himself to drop the leeches, he would still be at the top. and injuries didn't help. but not the end of him.
i hope he can find peace with his life
Calling him a wasted talent is a force guy. He might have made a bad decision that’s restricts him from playing but he will always have talent and skills.
I just need an icon/hero card from ea for him and i'll be just fine although i do hope he comes back
As Maka from Miami says, "Well, let's wait after 4~years, who knows . . . .
Choosing Man united after leaving Juve was his downfall, they really killed his career and almost did the same with Christiano, should have gone to City or Madrid after Juventus
He made life changing, generational money. Basically won the lottery. It is so easy to say someone is lazy or never reached their potential. Or made the wrong choice. Would you or I do any different if we had a hundred million $$$? It’s so easy to cast stones.
I miss the what the hell happened episode
Pogba is the French Bellingham. Glad Bellingham has that solid support and his parents weren’t running out of desperation.
He is like balotelli
These guys destroyed their careers in the worst possible way
Balotelli was much better
... these days you can't say those things to colored people, y'know ... but possibly there is a connection between these two players behaviour
Pogba is opposite of Balotelli because Balotelli can't fully utilize potential from constant problem relate to his background like child abandonment, racism which prevent him to be mature man, but Pogba is rather to be good player but act lazy as he thinks everything run around him or above average player who have great teammate to make him look good and overrated than his real performance.
Put unmature man (which caused by his family and society) to compare with unprofessional football player a little bit unfair.
(For Pogba depression, I would say it somehow impact him but you can cure from that with doctor support, but Balotelli didn't have those choice at all and his problem more complicated than podga.)

I don't think he was a wasted talent. He was absolutely killing it at Juvenetus before moving back to Man U. I didn't follow his career when he went back to England but he then became a World Cup Winner, scoring in the final. We also have to remember that Man U wasn't exactly a great team during his time there (nor have they ever been a great team since Sir Alex), you can't expect him to perform miracles.
Let him come to Benfica he's talent is needed and is not over

Paul Pogba has been banned for four years for failing a drug test, meaning the top-flight career of one of the game's most gifted players is set to come to a sad, ignominious end.
He has been criticised for his inconsistent performances, his attitude, his injuries, his agent, and his social media antics.
He has been involved in several clashes with his managers, teammates, and fans.

Raiola's players rarely won the champions league, they did make a lot of money. His idea is make a lot of transfers so you make more money. No contract longer than 4 years so after 2 years you can put pressure on the clubs.
