Barcelona's doctor told the owners (in 2013) that Neymar really needed to add 12-15kg of muscle to compete in the Spanish league, but he never did. It's unfortunate, because he had amazing ball skills, good instincts and IQ, quickness etc., but he never had enough physical presence.

Only Messi has both sorts of intelligence in him and that is why most people describe him as "born with talent". Mentality and party problems are more common among Brazilian talents in general. It is part of their culture to admire riches and seek fame, because a lot of footballers grow up in poverty and support an entire community with their money and talent.

I always thought he was just going to be another Robinho. Then he proved me wrong with how he elevated his game at Barca. He ultimately proved me right in the end with PSG. Barca was the perfect environment for him
How did he prove you right when he was in Paris? I mean, he carried the team and doesn't have many bad games with PSG. Especially, in big matches in Europe with Paris, he is the one who plays the best. Final and Semi final in a row in Champions League was mostly thanks to him. And I say it by being a PSG fan from more than a decade now. He was unlucky because of his injuries which are because of contacts with opponents.
b/c there was a proper system at Barca that he had to buy in to and he developed to be more than a trickster. At PSG, he was the system. His time there was a cycle of waiting for the next year's UCL. I think he would've reached closer to his max potential at Barca.

Bro as a person who started watching football and became a culer in 2015 towards the end, neymars exit was one of the saddest things as a football fan🥲
He is living his best life. He has the best of both worlds: He is one of the top in football but also has maintained his party lifestyle. He still parties and drinks and travels around while other athletes like Messi and Ronaldo are about sport and training 24/7.
He didn't destroy his career. His goal as a footballer was to parlay it into being a successful social media influencer career. And at that, he is very succesful.
Calling neymars career a failure is unfair. He made psg better contenders in the UCL, more than they ever dreamed of being. Blaming him cause of injuries that he suffered on the pitch is crazy to me. Look at his numbers wherever he went and played he produces. How is that a failure because of your crazy standards after being spoiled by Messi and CR7.
When Neymar first joined Bace, it looked like he just didn’t fit in that special system. After they get comfortable with each other. I really enjoyed MSN And that second match against PSG. Waw
In the summer, you couldn't go a say without hearing about a player going to the Saudi league... Now, you don't go a day without hearing about players regretting their decision 😂
A world class talent who should be proud of his achievements and career! Unfortunately he played in an era that had Messi and Cristiano! So many players found themselves in the same boat when they played in the era of R9 and Maradonna! Neymar showed Brazilian flair with an end product! Many players would bite your hand off to have a quarter of your success in their football careers!
he ruined his career and those trophies weren't when he lead a team, he was just second best everytime he won a trophy and never the best on the team lol
Neymar was never a poor person. In his childhood he was not a millionaire but his family was from middle class. He studied in good schools, lived in good houses, had a very stable family and life.

@soccerstoriesohmygoal Great Video! I've done a lot of Neymar-hating in my years of watching football but this story makes me at least respect the guy. Also, do you have an editing glitch at 17:26?
Mogi das Cruzes definitely is NOT one of "são Paulo toughfest subusbs"
PSG's Neymar was miles ahead of Robinho, don't forget that, for example, he was close to winning the Champions League
@@abd-bm3cd You talk so much nonsense, he was incredible in PSG and took them to a CL final, you clearly need to actually him play.
Robinho the rapist is not even close to his level.
He was always a weak ULTRA luxury player. Watching him in person, I’ve never seen anyone perform worse in their “other 87” minutes
Would be a great vid all the great players who have collectively lost years trough injury
As much as we wish he did more he does not seem to mind hes happy
He's career is very similar to Ronaldinho's - magic on the pitch, only a couple of good seasons. But Ronaldinho achieve something more - success with Brasil and the Ballon D'or
neymar is better than ronaldinho..he just dont have great like ronaldinho had..he is player like ronaldinho magic on pitch but stilee he has most goals and assists for brazil and in history..he is highest ucl goal scorer for brazil..he has ended trhice at no 3 position in ballon dor..just thik if there was no messi and ronaldo,he might have three ballon dors
@@shivanshjain4718 Better in terms of teamplay of course, but still he didn't achieved as much as Ronny. And WC in for brasillians is like religion - without it you can't be amongst the greatest
@@shivanshjain4718not even close Ronoldinho won world cup tf has neymar won lol besides living in messi shadow but we not going to get into that conversation
@@shido_rimru_ he won more than you, making PSG the club with the most trophies in France. In fact, he won so many trophies, that you could not even recite them after reading them on paper, if someone took that paper away from you again lol. He is also worth 250 million, and you are worth - nothing. You are a nobody, whose opinion does not even remotely matter for these players. They retire 30 years before you, and have more cash than you could ever dream off, while you have to continue your dull existance, because let us face it. Someone who talks like you, isnt very smart, so no matter what you do, you wont convince us that it is something great. Neymar lived in nobody's shadow.
One of the best dribblers in history, he’s done a lot in his career and was part of the best team ever in that 2015 Barcelona team (coming from a Madrid fan) he will need that World Cup trophy to elevate his career
People make too much about he not wanting to be in Messi' shadow. They're professionals. He most likely left because of a bucket load of Arabian cash.
Biggest waste of potential of all time. Could have been the 2nd best player ever after Messi but ruined his career because of greed, the sheer number of injuries and the lack of discipline. He should have never left Barcelona
Oh wow. I enjoyed watching this so much 😊
I remember exactly the Barcelona coach in 2013/14 season: Gerardo Martino, who is currently Inter Miami coach
There was so much hype in 2014 and he was part of UCL winning team in 2015 and then he basically disappeared slowly.
That fiorentina kit is badass
I’m not sure Neymar junior has not destroyed his career. I’m also pretty sure he isn’t destroying anyone else’s career either.
People who say this things shock me.. Neymar already made money that would take care of him and his family for 10 lifetimes.. and lets be honest, money is what all this guys play for.. So, in short, Neymar did not destroy his career, Neymar succeeded in ways you will never know...!
facts
They all make money... You're allowed to have a good career and also make money they're not exclusive lol when the potential is to be one of the best players in history and you just make some money ya that's a failure
@@ShawnBlaque All players have potential to be the best players. Not all can be.. My point is maybe neymar doesn't see it like you all do..
@@ShawnBlaqueyou are not thinking properly. Neymar has done enough to earn our respect even with all the frequent injuries. Neymar is one of the greatest players of all time. Brazil's leading scorer.
@@royalusala8527 not true. Not all players have the potential to be the best. If all work equaly hard, natural talent will make the diference betwin them. Neymar had so much natural talent, but not so much hard work or dedication. He could be one of the best of all time but he just was one of the best at some time..
Top 5 of all time from Brazil 🇧🇷 1❤❤❤❤jamaica 🇯🇲
😂 Top five, you don't know sh+t, perhaps you are 7 years old
You really don't need to put those cringey b-roll clips, your content is good enough alone.
His exit from Barcelona really hurt and so I've never wished him well😂
😂😂😂😂
Your wishes doesn't make him less talented .. people make mistakes and I am sure everyone has .. so you have no right to criticise him for his choices its his choice no matter good or bad so just shut the fuck uppp dude grow up alreadyyy
Honestly after he left Barcelona it just went downwards with him.
Nah, Neymar peaked as a player at Paris, you'd know if you actually cared enough to watch him
But lets be honest, hes one of the Goats
Well made and well explained video...
he has shown, money is above all other achievements - quite an example for his young fans
3rd best player in the world
Neymar one of my favorite players Talent wise he was up there with Messi and my other favorite play Ronaldo but just didn’t get the accolades those two got but I will always love Neymar
I take it back Neymar was one of the best player in the world, but injuries won't let him be
No, overrated
Bro as a person who started watching football and became a culer in 2015 towards the end, neymars exit was one of the saddest things as a football fan🥲
I have never seen Neymar out of form...I would be pick his career over 99% of all football careers that have ever existed
He's completely failed to achieve the level he should have after leaving Barca.
Great player with a shite attitude.
I actually have never seen him in form lol
Never out of form😂
Neymars peak performance was that comeback against PSG. Him going to Paris was probably the worst decision of his life.
the moment he signed for al hilal i predicted his future at his new club with insane details and and everything is going the way i predicted it
What was your prediction?
He is living his best life. He has the best of both worlds: He is one of the top in football but also has maintained his party lifestyle. He still parties and drinks and travels around while other athletes like Messi and Ronaldo are about sport and training 24/7.
Joining psg was a mistake
He obviously never looked after himself and looked really old for his age
“The uncrowned king
Bro I'm from Mogi das Cruzes and that's not a tough place at all, it's a working class country side so chill on the sensationalism
😂😂😂
Germany's 2016 team had nothing to do with the 2014 one, indeed none of the players of 2014 played in the Olympics
He didn't destroy his career. His goal as a footballer was to parlay it into being a successful social media influencer career. And at that, he is very succesful.
Whattttt!!!!??? What the fyvk
uhhh, pele retired in 2002??? wtf are you talking about he was 62 in 2002
the last time santos won the league was in 2002, before neymar got there
It’s crazy to see that his career is essentially over even before Ronaldo’s.
He's a joy to watch
that 26:48 guy cried like vini jr cartoon 🤣😂🤩lots of love to Vini Jr 🥰
Calling neymars career a failure is unfair. He made psg better contenders in the UCL, more than they ever dreamed of being. Blaming him cause of injuries that he suffered on the pitch is crazy to me. Look at his numbers wherever he went and played he produces. How is that a failure because of your crazy standards after being spoiled by Messi and CR7.
If he partied less and trained more he wouldn’t have been so injury prone. That’s the Brazil curse, party not practice.
The Prince never become a king no no no the king who doesn't need any crown 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🔥🤫🤫🤫🐐🫶🤙
When Neymar first joined Bace, it looked like he just didn’t fit in that special system. After they get comfortable with each other. I really enjoyed MSN
And that second match against PSG. Waw
In the summer, you couldn't go a say without hearing about a player going to the Saudi league...
Now, you don't go a day without hearing about players regretting their decision 😂
I hope he comes back to Europe soon
Forza viola! Love the shirt!
Three reasons:
Greed, Immature, ill-advised
Santos was recognized team who ever discover new talent it's insane
He is still one of those greatest players the world ever witnessed.
'ruined his career'
Bro has more trophies than 99.99% of players lol
along with a treble
And made a dollar or two on the way.
he ruined his career and those trophies weren't when he lead a team, he was just second best everytime he won a trophy and never the best on the team lol
@@sneakyvee in 2015 he was the best in 2017 to 2021 he was the best playher until messi joined

He was supposed to play in Saudi Pro League, right now he's playing in ambulance pro league... This guy gets injured a LOT.
$120 mil per year, that boy is still winning
Neymar was never a poor person. In his childhood he was not a millionaire but his family was from middle class. He studied in good schools, lived in good houses, had a very stable family and life.
That was after he joined santos
King of diving, farewell sheikh...
He basically retired when he went to PSG
give that man a breather 😂
Y’all realize how hard it is to be the next up to Messi or Ronaldo when they’re still playing? Lol he’s had a great career I’d say but now he’s just fallen into riches and habits. He was a STAR at Barcelona in my eyes as a kid💯🔥
Neymar is the biggest wasted career I've ever seen. He made the biggest mistake of his career by leaving Barcelona and he wondered why he was never appreciated and underachieved. His chose ego over legacy. Even though he was unfortunate with a lot of injuries...now at 31 years old he joins Saudi Arabia? Now he chose money over legacy... just a shame...
At this moment he did well to choose money, what would he do in Europe? look at it, it is in a finished state, in this state there was no more legacy to be worked on.
You do know that Neymar peaked at PSG right?
What he did 90% players can't.

Neymar never imposed his game into a style of play at a Club, about the time he started doing that he had to leave Barcelona, and his biggest mistake was his choice of clubs, no wonder he's much more successful with his national team, he was never a giant as LM10 or CR7 though but could have been if he was more dedicated and built a stronger body, his injuries derailed him
What Neymar's done is levels above anyone here.
