      Make excercizes/games to force yourself to think outside the box : I.e
      force yourself to end on the b3, or the 5 of the scale
      Try adding in a B9 to all your phrases (ALL OF THEM) until one works

      the pentatonic scale is the easiest scale to make sound good, i did it with the blues scale which is basically the same thing and i'm a noob

    The pentatonic scale is definitely ESSENTIAL for all musicians learning to improvise!

    Hi Jeff! I've been a subscriber for some time now and have always enjoyed your videos. But, these recent videos you have been doing are AWESOME! This one and the one you did earlier (Isn't She Lovely) are just so useful and practical for the gigging musician.       sdfbf you can also use the notes in each chord to solo. Either as arpeggios or using them to create a melody

    This makes the Solo's For Standards "solo" make more sense to me now. It's be great if you linked any video's outside of the "Makin The Changes" course like this that apply to the content for easy reference.

    The reason why E natural works well in the F scale it is a leading tone.

    Fun fact: @kazuki_isogai on Instagram got almost a couple hundred thousand followers posting improvisations over this progression. It’s very popular. Many of his posts are just videos of him playing this progression in different inversions, extensions, and slight changes

    Over C7, can we also use arpeggios from F Harmonic Minor or from E Super Locrian?

      Archon Rye the only issue I see with using the F harmonic minor is that the F would clash with the E in the C7. All the other notes work beautifully especially since you would get the #5 & b9 using that scale

      @@ryanvergara3603 You could definitely use the F as a passing tone going to E. It fits into the D Major 7 chord (F acts as the major 3rd) that is played before you get to the C7

      John Horne I tend to start loading it with secondary dominants to add some extra movement to the progressions

    Thats confusing me..you say F dorian and Eb Dorian. But should it not be F äolian and Db Dorian?? Since you say its in Fm? So you could say F äolian, F HM, and F phrygian?

      @@mbgmail5911 Hi. Is it realy only 10 Mounths since!? ok. I dont even now understands what i asked in the Question before. So now i would say:
      Its in Db. You should see it like that:
      Dbmj7 (Ij7), C7 Fm (V7(-Im)/IIIm), Ebm Ab Dbmj7 (IIm-V7/Im), C7 Fm (V7-IIIm). So there are one II-V-I Progressions in major (Ebm Ab7 Dbmj7), with the I-Tonic at the Beginning. The first C7 is a secondary Dominant leads to Fm (IIIm). Make that sense for you?
      C7 is HM5 or altered, cause it ends in minor (Fm7). Thats all! I recomment "NewJazz" Oliver Prehn in YT. Its my Guru now.ioi
