@@MrISkater Yep, that’s it. These panic buyers don’t stop to think that the shortages will come because they themselves caused it by hoarding up everything
This is why its always good to prep and have an emergency supply of food, water, necessities for times like this or even job loss, illness/death, financial difficulties, wild weather events and even SHTF events. You don't have to hoard and panic buy, you buy a few extra canned goods/products every time you shop and you put it aside, it doesn't take long to build up a nice little store of supplies and it doesn't break you financially either.
Well, if this port strike continues for long enough, then this strike WILL, in and of itself, be an SHTF event! We need to not only stock up on non-perishable foods; we also each need to buy a few acres of arable land so that, when an SHTF event does come, we can homestead our lands and thus start farming them so that we can feed ourselves.
Just a little effort each week over a couple years, I've been setting aside things. I learned from all the hurricanes and covid, and income loss to be prepared for anything. One week I'd focus on canned goods, one week bath and body items, one week otc meds for cold/flu and vitamins-ibuprofen, another week spices or rice/beans. Then toilet paper or paper towels, household supplies. Invested in a Coleman campstove for 30 bucks with plenty of tanks that are 2 bucks each. Some power banks. It's a logistics thing. Most stores want to minimize their backroom inventory (it's called just in time inventory systems) where deliveries are planned such that backroom stock is minimal. This helps increase inventory turnover rates and decrease associated inventory costs. The problem is this leaves little over capacity in the system for changes in demand. TP and paper towels are particularly susceptible to this because they are normally spardically purchased by consumers and they are VERY bulky on shelves. Honestly everyone should have a good supply of food and toiletries. Never know what could happen in this crazy world
I thought Kamala said this was the horror we had to endure under Trump 😂😂😂😂 looks like we are going back……..to the Biden/Harris administration BS
Trump made Elon the Robot maker/Job Slayer his bff. How does that even work if you’re a Trump supporter protesting automation? Make it make sense 😂
Stores should put limits on items.
I actually stocked up recently just in case of civil unrest from the elections, ww3, civil war, etc before the dockworkers strike.
Ding ding ding, same here. Saw this coming years ago!
Same. I don't go insane, but I like to have a little for a rainy day on survival items - bulk pack of toilet paper and paper towels, at least a few backups of most other things - bar soap, shampoo, toothpaste, cottonballs, q-tips, deodorant, pasta, sauce, rice, other grains like couscous and quinoa, oatmeal, beans, frozen vegetables, frozen chicken, peanut butter, canned fruit and vegetables.
Though I feel this strike will cause problems for America (buy your Christmas presents now!), I feel the complacency of many people will allow for robots and corporate greed to take jobs away from humans. If you can’t work, you don’t eat, unless it’s “Soylent Green!” I’m glad someone is raging against the machine!!
Need to bring back limits on purchases per customer. People are so dumb. All of these items are produced domestically, or in Canada.
The strike is over. Stop panic buying.
We have more than that port which is the one Walmart uses and they are NOT on strike.
Honestly you people laugh at toilet paper hoarders, but you really don't have enough toilet paper yourselves. The average person uses 1 roll per day. If you have a family of 4, that's 28 rolls a week. Over 100 a month. TP rolls will be worth their weight in gold in a few months, because everyone needs it.
Oh no, my precious TP!
These people are real geniuses, buying up everything that’s domestically manufactured!
Don't understand why people are stocking up on toilet paper????
Do people not know how to use cloth diapers and wipes anymore? Rags instead of papper towles? . The only thing we stock up on is coffee, beans, Rice, and anything we use daily thats not made in america. Panic buying is stupid and makes things worse. But making smart prepared buying is whats going to hold you over.
Love Angel Reese but Caitlin is the reason I started watching the WNBA. Well deserved.
Joe Biden has done a very good job at leading the past four year. Americans are doing well, and things are calm in the middle east. We need more of this.
A lot of paper products are manufactured in areas hit very hard by the storm.
LMAO, and the sheep go BAAAAAAAHHHH again. We produce enough locally to last a while, stop falling for the fear mongering. If anything, this may help local US production!
This must be on the east coast and south, nothing like this going on in my "neck of the woods"
My husband is waiting on his new personal vehicle to arrive. I hate how people feel like they have to panic buy on certain goods.
Fl has a great governor! Ron DeSantis is making sure our ports stay open with the Fl national guard . Thank you Governor DeSantis!!
Uh oh! No waters?!? I have water in the house!!
But it's not Imported water! I can't go without my Icelandic water
@@georgepatton6195 I can’t go without water, either! Without everything, it’s the Circle of Life
@@AprilTeniente-eu1mj see, now you got humming the theme song to the Lion King
@@georgepatton6195 I know. I like listening to Circle Of Life from the Lion King soundtrack!
I work in retail! Companies are working to truck their produce in . And smaller companies are working together to get product to the stores . Don’t always believe what you hear .
Who really "needs" paper towels any ways...Ive never bought a roll in 50 years.
I don't know if I really need them but I for one definitely go through them. I buy them by the case.
Fail to plan plan to fail
