"I am putting them closer to you, I'm not handing them to you" the way these two communicate is so respectful and open, I love it. I've been fascinated by how they make decisions together. This is what a true partnership looks like.
The closeup of Colin… ☠️ He is my spirit animal. 🤣🤣 I love how April recognizes that he wants to reorganize the container without him saying a word. Loving the series!! What a great family! ❤
They are such a good team as a couple and they seem so open to your help it's like your family with her mum working hard in the background. It's an enjoyable declutter to watch
Just a tip: when I decluttered my spices, I just replaced what I needed when I needed it. Saves alot of money. This is going to b an amazing fresh start for ur growing family. Great job u 2!👏🏻
oh yes, that sounds *very* wise (+ economical :) ) and for the spices in the sliding rack -- I would suggest smelling them. If they still smell potent, then they are probably still good, but if they don't smell like anything then they're probably no longer useful :)
Honey, everyone has spices and herbs that need a clear out! It happens to the best of us lol. Thank you for sharing your life with us, it’s been so lovely watching and so inspiring. Best series April, so enjoyable.
Growing up my mom rarely used spices so the same bottles were in our cabinets for decades. When I moved out as an adult and realized spices actually have a best by date...yeah, no wonder those spices at home were tasteless 😂😂😂😂
I love watching this series! Lovely people and such a cozy home. I have a quick mom tip - don't keep glassware, cheese graters and things like that in bottom drawers. Those are the first ones that little babies can open when they start to roam and when they pull those items out they might either hurt themselves or break something.
@@merrivideo I think they mean if you were to place two hooks (large enough to set the handles of the rolling pin on - like coat hooks) horizontally, you could rest the rolling pin up on the wall off of the counter space, and then just lift the rolling pin up off the hooks for when you want to use it. If you google 'rolling pin hooked to wall' or 'rolling pin wall mount', it shows some images where people have done this - some images show the rolling pin as the hook itself, which isn't the idea behind hooking it, but others show where the rolling pin is resting on the hooks. Hopefully I've explained this well
Freeze the applesauce and thaw it as you want it. It freezes well. It can also be used as an egg replacer in cakes and muffins. You guys are doing a great job and work well together.
For the small handkerchief, I can totally see them sew together, patchwork style to create a tablecloth or a bed cover. A nice memory of your wedding decor.
This has been such a delight to watch. I know Colin has been grateful to participate in the kitchen. It seems he likes to cook. I’m glad she got to upstyle her tea cabinet. April is a good coach and Mary a great worker behind the scenes. This was very well edited too. Have they had their little one yet. Injustice wanted to know if they were doing ok, no personal info. Can’t wait for the next episode. I am so surprised at how much room this declutter made.
This kitchen is so welcoming, homey, cozy. I would love to have grown up in this. You can feel the warmth and love in this home. Lucky baby ❤❤❤ to be brought home to a wonderful family. One of my fav declutters.
Yall are such an amazing team! It’s fun to see you make decisions together and with April facilitating and Mary being the most helpful will all the support tasks and cleaning. You got the dream team going!!
Same! Well, sort of. I have a set of 8 except teaspoons - they doubled those to 16 in the set. I put those in top to tail as Colin did. But my salad forks sit next to my dinner forks, just lower in the drawer while my dinner forks sit pushed to the top. The salad forks fit perfectly, ending up snuggling the tips of their times into the shoulders of the dinner forks formed where the head of the forks start.
tetris is such a usefull skill. I had to stop playing because my brain would continue playing even after I was done. I use the skill when we are on holiday or right now as my son is preparing to move from his dorm room to his first apartment.
Rolling pins I’ve always kept put as decor. They are so hard to fit, but leaned upright in a corner or window sill they take up less space. Plus even though they are rarely used they look so quintessentially “kitchen” they are kind of cute.
I know the stuff today is mainly hidden but wow did they make a difference. Well done to ye all 👏👏👏👏 Getting all the baskets was genius and to have a return policy too is unbelievable. Have a great week. Mary, Joes wife 🙇♀️👏💪👍🙏💐🐕🦺
My mom had our silverware stacked like that, alternating the sizes in the same slot. A family of 4 with 2 kids, and it was always fine! Even as a 12-year old doing the dishes and putting them away it never got unorganized.
I think we can all relate to finally checking the dates on spices and realizing most are expired. Smart idea to purchase as you actually need and not to just get them to have. Lots of people find the "use by" dates can be stretched. Open and smell the spice. Those whole cloves stuck in an orange will bring a great Fall/Winter smell into the house! Happy for you that things are pared down and easily accessible! All hard workers in that family!
We lived in a place with no pantry so I thrifted a wardrobe and turned it into a pantry and it worked great. If you have the space for a separate piece of furniture you can turn into a pantry I highly recommend it.
I really love this house, it’s such a cute house and floorplan to begin with, and they’ve done a great job on the interior and design choices, it’s such a charming little place.
Wonderful job! 😍I have one concern, pet medications are still medications, and right now they are in the "crawl zone" These need to be put up or a baby latch put on the door of the cabinet so baby doesn't get into it. It's a safety thing. I feel for them to replace all those spices, but sometimes a fresh start and a realization of what they are actually using is a good thing. Looking forward to the rest of the declutter downstairs. I feel this series is a bit more realistic and relatable to American Spaces vs. the limitations of Korean Apartments. It has been interesting to see the comparison (no built in closets, etc.)
If you have a crafty person please use those handkerchiefs for a quilt because they’re gorgeous. It would make such a lovely blanket. To see a couple reuse and buy preloved is fantastic. I’m right there with you. Good to see a couple who that means something too.
Christine and Collin are magnificent declutterers! They work very well together and every room looks better and better. Love this series and thank you for leaving the decisions made about the items kept, donated and trashed. Cannot wait for the next installment! ❤❤❤❤❤

Kitchens are so tricky! Your kitchen is so pretty! If you have issues w spices, some stores carry small boxes of them. That’s what I get instead of the big jars.
So funny to see them talk about if the cheese slicer is an everyday item or for special occasions, because where i'm from those are used multiple times a day 😄
I adore this series, such a great couple and so blessed! Awesome example of marriage and really appreciate them being open and willing to share their process, and for you to have shared it with us. It’s been great to witness and learn from!
You could make a patchwork quilt for the baby with smaller napkins. Sew them all together . Sew on piece of material on back. Then cut and tie quilt. It would be a way to preserve memories
Ok, it’s Nessie (she is, a very old, very retired Loch Ness Monster 😂)….. Loch Ness is where she lives 😂. A beautiful place, I lived there for a long time…. Highly recommend a visit 🏴🤗
Another great job, Team. Quick note: It's my understanding that spices should be kept in a cooler spot. I think that wonderful pull-out spice rack is right beside a dishwasher. If so, it could contribute to shortening their freshness/peak flavor. (I sound like a cook but I'm not. 😉) Kitchen's really coming together. Inspiring.

Totally agree! You can tell they respect each other. Lovely people:)
I’ve been thinking the same thing, wow the mutual respect is incredible. This should be required viewing for all couples and marriage counselors.
Do you have a time stamp? I overheard it :)
@@aloluccak.8303right around 10 minutes when they start sorting through the utensils
I agree ! If my ex and I had communicated open and loving and respectful as this couple , we’d probably still be married!
You might need to declutter Mary's house next lol
Yes! 😊
Please!!
I was about to say that!

She can identify a fellow space maker. He could run the Oregon branch while Dani and April run the Korean one
We love an emotionally mature millennial couple! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
My parents could learn a thing or two...
I really like this couple and how they interact. It's nice to see both of them being able to be respectful of what the other wants to hold onto.
They are such a good team as a couple and they seem so open to your help it's like your family with her mum working hard in the background. It's an enjoyable declutter to watch
I always call my “junk” drawer the utility drawer because it helps shift away from the mindset of shoving things in there
So, April's really good at decluttering- obviously, but she's also incredible at choosing absolutely delightful people to work with.
THIS
This couple has quickly become my favorite, they're just so kind to each other it warms my heart ❤️
My favorite also.❤
I love watching these two make decisions. They check in and then respect each others opinions. Relationship goals!!
When I saw all your colourful napkins I immediately thought that they would make a beautifully colourful play quilt for sweet baby girl.
I was thinking they could be folded in half on the diagonal and sewn into bunting for parties!
Just a tip: when I decluttered my spices, I just replaced what I needed when I needed it. Saves alot of money. This is going to b an amazing fresh start for ur growing family. Great job u 2!👏🏻

Those are the first ones that little babies can open when they start to roam and when they pull those items out they might either hurt themselves or break something.
Or if you have to keep them there, there are various types of drawer and cabinet locks. I prefer the magnetic ones.
Mom can take as much as she wants… she’s been such a great help!! Way to go momma!
Collin is my new totem animal. I love how respectful and calm and collected your discussions are.
You can see why they are married they are so cute together. I am really enjoying this declutter series.
For the rolling pin, 2 hooks on the wall!
I don't have any drawer in my kitchen. Could you pelase explain in more detailed? I think it oculd help me to create a place for a rolling pin.

It would be a great decorative piece too!
I made a cardboard sheath for my large knife 17 years ago, and it's still going strong! No shade on the duct tape sheath 😅😂
Collin and Christine are so game, which makes this such a satisfying series to follow!
The way Charlie just threw herself on the ground for pets when she saw you was so precious!
Freeze the applesauce and thaw it as you want it. It freezes well. It can also be used as an egg replacer in cakes and muffins. You guys are doing a great job and work well together.
Might be good for a teething baby too
Unsweetened applesauce is also a good substitute for oil in many recipes...
For the small handkerchief, I can totally see them sew together, patchwork style to create a tablecloth or a bed cover. A nice memory of your wedding decor.
For sentimental fabric, my family turns them into Christmas ornaments.
Loved when she said to her mom “you’ll be back tomorrow right” and mom nodded yes ❤️❤️❤️
Everyone needs a Mary in their life ❤. I love her!

The dynamics of this whole group is fantastic!
Once I taught my family that it is NOT a Junk drawer, but a UTILITY drawer, their treatment of it changed.
I love your house it beautiful. Declutterring will definitely be a breath of fresh air. Keep up the good work.
Check the expire dates in the store ! I’ve found stuff for sale that expired a year before!
The big A is bad for this, shipping expired goods.

Rolling pin suggestion! Hang two hooks on the wall to hold it horizontally. I too have a tiny kitchen and that's what worked best for me
Love this idea. Going to do this in my kitchen
Very clever!!
I drilled a hole in one handle of mine and hang it from a wall mounted hook.
I have a vintage crock next to my stove with all of my utensils, including the rolling pin.🙌🏻

I write the expiry date on things, when I bring them home, in big black numbers where it is easy to see soi don’t have to hunt for the date.

Spices have expiration dates just because after a while they stop having taste, they don't go bad
Unless moisture gets in there then it can clump
With rolling pins, usually one handle unscrews so you can fit it in the drawer. My mom always stored hers like that. Love this series and the book!
