The rhythm Soli starts to be played three months before the day of the circumcision ceremony for the young boys. Soli is played each month leading up to the circumcision (but not every day), until one week before the ceremony. In this final week, Soli is played every night. The night before the circumcision, Soli is played all night long until the next morning. When the villagers receive the announcement that the circumcision went well and everyone is fine, they stop playing Soli.
