Started with Realfell knockoff by local drum store line decades ago. Lately got me an Offworld v3. Like it much. Bought it with a Thomann snare pad. It is ok and an Chinese OEM around on the market with various names. But I heavily gravitate towards the Vic Slim pad for the pipe drum style drumming I am addressing by now
My go2 pads I use are the vic firth 12 inch double sided practice pad, 7 inch moongel practice pad, and 6 inch zildjian galaxy pad. Overall very basic pads but great for all occasions and lasts you a couple years
Great video! I use the realfeel and I definitely agree that it’s a little too bouncy. Whenever I use it I put a little towel on it to reduce the rebound.
Whoever sold you the Vater pad for 60 ripped you off, I got my double side 12 inch for 40 dollars after tax from Guitar Center so thats not a con. Its a great pad and probably the best of your video as well. No rim its only negative.
HI! Thanks so much for watching! I actually bought mine from guitar center maybe 8 years ago. Looks like they may have lowered the price. I actually looked all of the prices up before I made this video last year, because I was never going to remember what I paid for a pad years ago. Anyway, you're right the Vater is a great pad! I just prefer a thinner playing surface honestly. My perfect pad would be the Slimpad with a rim.
i have the movement pad i like the feel of it but the one thing I don't like is the laminate the reason why i don't like the laminate that came with it because every time I touch it the laminate gets really dirty and the spots don't go away theres been a few times i had to wash the laminate it gets more dirty but im getting the other version of the movement pad the one with the carbon fiber laminate
@@drumlck would you ever consider getting the carbon fiber laminate movement pad iv only seen couple of videos of them but i want to know how much rebound and articulation and the feel is on that pad but im getting one for Christmas i can't wait to try it out
Def somethings to think about while buying my next practice pad
Thanks!

Thanks so much for watching! I hear great things about the offworld pads

Awesome! I haven’t seen one of those moongel pads in years. Thanks so much for watching!
I used the double sided pad for a while and hated it, I got the slim pad and immediately realized it was a way better alternative to the double sided
I absolutely love the honesty. Lol. “Newsflash, it doesn’t”
Thanks for the video
Thanks for watching!
This was a cool video. I like the way the vater and Vic firth pad sounded.
Thanks for watching!
Great information you sharing
Thank you for watching!
Very cool video, I'm looking to get a practice pad. I need to put some pad time in I am not even close to you at rudiments, very impressive demo John!
Thanks so much man! Check out snarescience.com. They have a ton of exercises that can really help.
New shots look awesome! I have the grey one but I don’t practice because I’m a beast 😉!
haha nice! Thanks for watching dude!
Great video! I use the realfeel and I definitely agree that it’s a little too bouncy. Whenever I use it I put a little towel on it to reduce the rebound.
Thats a great idea! Thanks for watching!
The Billy Hyde pad is the best as it doesn’t grip the stick which stops ‘pad hands’
Spot on for movt drum co. I got it for its rim and the insert.
Absolutely! Thanks so much for watching!
Drum lck Nice job on your video
Thanks Ryan!
Nice work
Thank you so much!
What about the Sabian Quiet Tone pad (non mesh)? It's not cheap, it's not quiet, but presumably it should have the most realistic rebound.
I haven't seen that one yet. I'm gonna go check it out now. Thanks so much for watching!
Sabian quiet tone is a great idea but not a good pad
Is that really geared toward marching percussion? I thought that was a bit more geared towards concert and drum set

They meant MARCHING snare
Thanks so much for watching! In terms of a marching feel I think the VF slim pad is the closest.

Thanks for watching! I really like the Movement pad. I use it pretty much every day, and it's still holding up after 3 or 4 years.

@@markponekovic3415 Oh thats awesome. Let me know how you like it!
Lots of good info! I’m gonna get one that won’t Brad Pitt too badly 😄
haha I'm glad you noticed that!
Nice informative video!!! And agree about throwing the pad… don’t do that
Thanks man!
I got first one
Wich is the most realistic?
Sorry I missed this comment. I would say the Movement pad feels the best/most real.
Hey man,,,, when I go to your page, it won’t let me see any of your videos and content????
Yea I just noticed that. I have no idea whats going on. Apparently it's effecting a bunch of channels. Thanks for reaching out Bryan!
@@drumlck no problem bro,,,,, I hope it gets corrected lol
Ram Pad Pro.
Cool! I haven't heard of that one before. I'll check it out now. Thanks for watching!
Which is the bounciest pad on this vid?
Hey! Thanks for checking out the video!
I would say the Evans pad is probably the most bouncy.
@@drumlck Wow. Bouncier even than the movement?
I can’t hear you.
Oh no! Is your volume up? Lol
