LEGO PORSCHE -VS- 120KM/H ROCKET SLED (Recreating the Mythbusters vanishing car episode)

  • Henrik, David and Sylvia try to recreate the epic Mythbusters episodes “Compact compact” where Adam and Jamie tries to make a car disappear between two trucks going at highway speed. That doesn’t work so they try to recreate the results by accelerating a steel plate to the speed of sound on a rocket sled. This results in one of the best slowmotions of all time.
We really want to recreate this by using our own small scale rocket sled and a Lego Technic Porsche 911 gt3. So many things can go wrong but the results are amazing.
Watch how the rocket was made:
    • Rocket Knife BTS - Mak...
Watch our previous attempt at recreating the mythbusters rocket car:
    • RECREATING the MYTHBUS...
    Music used in this episode:

A friendly reminder and the tip of the day; To avoid looking like a fool always watch the entire video and read the description of any youtube video before leaving a negative comment. Always be well informed on the subject in question before making a statement not only on the internet but in life in general. This way you will learn more, perhaps become a better person and avoid being dismissed as the person that passes judgment without knowing the subject. Or in other words looking like a fool.

Probably. But at the same time they need content for tested, it seems it isn't going that strong anymore. Maybe just pitch some ideas, and maybe some folks watching this stuff can leave a couple of comments with tested that there's some interesting dude they have to invite. I mean beside the obvious part of you being awesome in fabricobbling there is also the diy business owner with giving knowledge back to society (yadda yadda...) which pretty much aligns with adams ideals...

The force of impact to a car front-to-back is so strong it can actually crumple the body in the rear. The slow-mo of your Lego impact demonstrates this as you can see the rear end oscillating from the impact. When my wife had a drunk pull left in front of her (while she was going 60mph) the impact was so strong the rear hatch and rear quarter panels had huge dents in the body from the force of the hit. The middle of the car was mostly clean. Front left was obliterated.

That was insane! :D Seriously, just wow! Watching that LEGO Porsche explode like that in slow motion was awesome! I normally don’t condone the senseless destruction of LEGO masterpieces, but this isn’t senseless destruction. This is destruction in the same of science, and that I approve of XD. Plus that slow motion footage was just plain cool! I just subscribed to your channel, and am looking forward to seeing what kind of experiments you guys cook up next. :)
