What features would you have in your dream travel van?
shower
The garage set-up is great with the extra water and air lines but I think they are missing some key things, like a shower and a toilet.... But guess they can use the garage outlet as a shower port
I wouldn’t have a van , I would have a Tardis.lots of room and they have swimming pools

I was lucky enough to meet her in person a few years back, she's super sweet and humble and lightning fast! Her van offs almost as cool as she is.
I use do live in a camper trailer in my younger days, loved it. Best time of my life.

I don’t understand why people don’t buy motorhomes..?
I would think it has to do with getting around to different trails. I have a toy hauler, but can't hop in and take out for a a day or two to find a trail I never been to. It's way to difficult and would rather have the van for these kind of trips.

Jill, stumbled across your van video. Your dad would be so proud of your accomplishments (and he would have loved the van) My name is Dave Graham, Peter and I played a lot of golf and pool together his last couple years. I spoke at his funeral and told the story about him always leaving his phone on “In case Jillybean calls” I think of him often, I now work at one of the golf courses we used to play, Mt Si. He would be jealous as I now play for free! Hope all is well, stay safe!

van is way to go, in mine: solar, AC, kitchenette, toilet/shower, table, bed, and of course room for two bike, best think what any outdoorsman can have, nice vid!

They dampen it because it makes way to much sound on a sheet metal roof. It makes the roof ressonate. You probably still hear it when inside

Dream van if you have the money. I have a VW caddy which works well to carry a couple of bikes easily without too much fuss.

At the back of the van I would have a cover that goes over the two open doors to give you shelter from the rain. It worked on my surf bus, especially in Uk. COOL van, do they export to the UK? mmmm big loan coming up?
You guys should look at some MTB focused UK vans and builders if you are going to do a mini-series. There are some great vans and builders about that focus on the things thats needed for van/bike life in the UK/Europe...

Where does the electrical run off of. Do you just run the diesel when you need extra juice? I see there are inverters so I'm guessing that or some deep cycle batteries are hidden somewhere. Didn't see room for a generator.

Great build, but I think Alexander (Singletrack Sampler) has the better van.
His bed that folds into a futon is really sweet and really opens up the space, but with two people I don't think you can beat a big bed like this one. I need space to move around when I sleep, and if its warm I can't really be touching my partner or I overheat. Anything smaller then a queen would be too small for me with a partner personally, for short trips and vacations smaller would probably work. Good sleep is important especially if your trying to be competitive.
Not sure if this is the regular or mid length sprinter, the long version is a little impractical since you can't really park it in any normal spots.

Great van, obviously a lot of work went into that. I have to ask myself though why do all mountain bikers seem to want to convert a sprinter van versus just getting an RV? I get that one is easier to drive and better on gas mileage but it seems like a monumental amount of work and expense. I'm sure there's a reason, I just don't know what it is.
Easier parking at events and trailheads. Can manage many dirt roads pretty well. Gas mileage. Easier to stealth camp in van. Many neighborhoods have restrictions on RV. It can be your daily driver. It's #vanlife, not #rvlife.
Regular RVs can't really hold all the bikes etc inside unless you get a toy hauler RV. But then they are big/expensive/and use allot more fuel like MouatainKing said.

I'm an older rider starting back after a 10 year break. This bike exceeds my capabilities and has been easy to get comfortable riding. I'm mostly on easy trails with almost no street riding and have not been disappointed with the performance of the bike. My fitness level is far below what I previously rode with and because of that the mileage is going on the bike slowly. While I'm losing weight slowly, the bike seems to tolerate my 220 pounds just fine. The bike has been used by several family members ranging from 5'5" - 5'9".

Sprinters suck. Maintenance is a killer. Not a lot of horsepower. Top heavy. Lack of support here in U.S. Ford Transit Van all the way.

A lot less. MB Vans are priced very competitively. A sprinter is cheaper than a T6.
Depending on miles, used Mercedes Sprinters are $28k-40k USD - that's a shit load by the way. Then you pay someone to outfit it for camping, prob another $6-8k plus USD. Def a sweet, cadillac setup but out of my league!
