Makes alot of sense. People love to complain. Its not my style knife. But to each his own. Vote with your dollars like you said buy it or not. Thanks man.
Great video David well said , price vs value will be determined by the masses which don't seem to care very much for this knife so time will tell for the narrows. Good thing is there's so many options nowadays that no one needs to be concerned
@@BladeBanter its funny because once they discontinue and people realize they are good, demand shoots up lol. Not that I would even consider getting the Narrow. It is cool to see something new from benchmade though.
I was at my local hunting store and they said the benchmades fly off the shelf . It is what it is . The general public doesn’t know what else is out there . They have hem right next to the spydercos
I bought a very good looking clone of this knife for exactly $19.20. Of course, it's not made with an m390 blade or titanium scales (these are aluminum), but otherwise it is spot-on identical. So, I traded premium steel, a titanium handle, and a butterfly logo for $503 savings. I wouldn't normally buy counterfeit or clone knives since the real thing can usually be purchased at a *reasonable* cost, but with since Benchmade is not familiar with reasonable costs, I made an exception... or two (I also have a carbon fiber bugout clone that was $260 cheaper than the original).
I agree 100%. If you like it buy it. I don't agree with their prices, so I don't buy them. I don't need to tell the whole world how wrong they are for buying it. I buy microtech knives, and some people think they're overpriced.
It's a knife for collectors anyway. They spend the money and often have much more expensive knives. The discussions about the price are ridiculous in the end. The market sets the price. Knives in the 500 dollar range are also just emotional purchases. If the buyers knew the manufacturing costs, they would shut up here. The Narrows is positioned as a premium model and not intended for the 200 dollar buyer. They can buy other models.
Yeah when I was talking to some folks at one of the shows it came down to the machine time, and in looking at the patent it has been in the works for some time.
I own the original and dlc. I know there are more complainers than fans of the Narrows. At the end of the day if you love it and can afford it so be it. If you hate it and can/can't afford it, so spend your money somewhere else. As collectors we have all types of models right? You made a good video breaking down everything. From the patents, paying their workers and the list goes on. The uniqueness of the Narrows also adds to the price just like any other product out there that has its own uniqueness. I own Kershaw, Spyderco, Microtech, Vero, Benchmade, Sparrow and some others. Do you, and i'll do me? 😂
Yup that's how it goes with the hobby there are knives for everyone. Appreciate the comment on the video. Haven't heard of Sparrow knives will look that up.
LOL. The next video will be “hey what’s up with the knife shortages!” People are clueless as to what is driving the current alloy shortages which will begin to affect all knife any day now as soon as they can’t get any more stock. You voted for it.
Bro...what are you talking about? do you agree with the price and the product, the price is a slap in the face of loyal customers. There is no validity for the price of the Narrows it's a $hit knife. The clones are better than the original lol...great vid though
Thanks for the comment, for sure the market will tell how it goes, but it is a new mechanism, and design and pushing some of the manufacturing side of things. I can see where some of the pricing comes from. The value isn't there for me to purchase it but costs are going up even Chris Reeves just announced an increase.

Thanks for the comment it performs well. Thanks for stopping in.
Thank you for an intelligent and well researched video.
Thanks for the comment and checking it out.
Well said about the negativity. Just enjoy what you enjoy and let others do the same. 👏
Folks buy gold class knives all the time, but as some others mentioned. Time will tell with the model.

Might be like the Anthem. I was considering that knife, but never got it. I handled it and was never a must buy.

Thoughtful, non-inflammatory, very well researched video. Well done sir. Thanks!
(Also, I love my Cetus’)
Thank you very much for the comment.

Yeah it comes down to the time it takes on the machines. The enthusiast crowd is smaller than the general consumer.

Interesting that they can get the clones that low as just the materials alone if purchased in the US would probably be more.

Yeah the market will determine the product. Thanks for the comment.
Great looking knife, but the pricing is crazy
Yeah will need to see how it does over time.
@@BladeBanter Absolutely, I would like to own one though.

I don't know if I voted for it but what is happening with the alloys?

its very generic looking NGL
NGL not familiar with that acronym.
@@BladeBanternot gonna lie
this company charges way to much for what it is
There is still a market for the products and other options available for USA made for Spyderco and Hogue for other brands.
