    I’ve got a T-Max portable air compressor. Will pump up a Land Rover tyre from 0 to 35psi in less then a minute, Paid £100 for it but it’s 6 years old and still going strong.

    I've done road side assistance a few years ago, what a nightmare that was, but I went out and got a good 150 dollar professional compressor, that worked off 12v, that power cord was a 12 gauge 50' cable, but the reason they do that for cheaper compressors is if it's any longer it tends to over heat unless you go with a bigger gauge wire, they do that to keep the price cheaper, the big one I bought has all the bells, and whistles, but in a pinch that little one will save the day.

    Hi Martin, best one I've purchased was from Aldi a 12v Li-lon mini air compressor by ferrex, looks like a cordless drill, no messing about plugging into the cigar lighter, and inflates really quick.

    As portable tyre inflators go this is excellent I have owned many over the years and the length of the lead is excellent as is the speed of inflation not that I would ever put 38psi in my tyres well above the recommended level. I agree the inflator hose is a bit short but they all are unless you buy a more professional unit. It is supposed to sit on its side with the display upwards hence why it kept falling over.

    A lot of these compressors will tell you to let it sit for 5 minutes to cool down after every 5 minutes of use to help them stop over heating 👍

    Surly you got a compressor in your shed. If the hose doesn’t reach it would’ve been cheaper and more effective to buy a longer hose?

    I thought I was going crazy this week as I been smelling petrol when out and my economy is awful... suspecting the fuel pump/carb connections I was driving meself ragged then when I filled her up this week (I usually run about on halfish a tank) I spotted the drip drip from the tank end. So on inspection, thinking it was cheap crappy Chinese fuel filler hose to blame or a holed tank, some barsteward thinking they could have some free jungle juice drilled a hole into the fuel filler hose which was where the fuelly smell was coming from arrgh. I managed to source on ebay a used but reinforced original Reliant elbow and I am eyeing my Kevlar tape to maybe armour bloody protect it grr grr Am seriously thinking of putting one of them camera's up :( I'll catch the git and me and Mr C. Hammer will have a chat with his thieving hands /fume I should be grateful the thieves didn't hole the tank but the low clearance prob they couldn't get a drill on straight. So its up on a ramp and jack stands, lucky the petrol is soooo cheap right now.

    • @dodgydruid
      @dodgydruid 4 года назад

      I have a good ol' footpump in the boot of me Reliant for out of town troubles, when at home I have my compressor next to the plug socket near front door and have two 30 ft coiled air lines and a little canvas bag with all the bits like air ratchet, impact, tyre inflator hanging off the handle. Means I can just plug in, open the door and snake the hose out to the Reliant and give her a good pumping :)
