      It definately was an achievement considering he had not fought in nearly three years. Thats a hell of a long time out of the fight game and also with no tuneups. Kahabib as great as he is should have been able to do this no later than round two. I did not see Kahabib as a great fighter. I saw him as a lucky fighter who should be embarrassed that Mcgregor lasted so long considering the circumstances. Kahabib is lucky that McGregor had such a long layoff or he would have lost. The layoff definately affected Mcgregors performance and despite the loss, he won at least one round and ended Kahabibs winning streak of never having lost a round.

      The UFC has a bit of a problem. The Khabib style is the preferred style to win a MMA match, it’s clear. At $65, I don’t know if it’s worth it... in fact I know I wouldn’t lay out the money to see a guy get dragged to the fence and wait several minutes while the guy gets into position to finish the fight. Think of the shift in baseball, the defensive trap in hockey, zone defense in basketball. Many of these sports change rules to make it watchable. What does the UFC do so that 80% of rounds isn’t fought on the ground? Can’t allow eye gouging, can’t open the groin to strikes or grabbing, can’t allow small joint manipulation. The UFC is going to have to get creative before everyone turns to Khabibs style. Perhaps allowing knee strike from the bottom guy, glove or fence grabbing, or tighter time constraints to become more productive on the ground. Thoughts?

      CSF Studios Absolutely. While I do think Khabib has a solid chin, the only real impression we got was when Conor essentially ’touched’ Khabib with a left hand in the opening seconds of the first and Khabib did not like that. The clean shots Conor was landing were when he was extremely gassed in the third and Khabib was, to his credit, incredibly fresh. We all know Conor’s power/accuracy dramatically deteriorates with his stamina after the first two rounds. He doesn’t have that same click and bang. I have no doubt Khabib can take a lot of shots from most fighters, but I also have no doubt that Khabib would struggle to take the left hand in early stages.

  • @siheath3648
    @siheath3648 5 лет назад +121

    You could tell right from the start Conor's mindset was defensive...he was so consumed with stuffing take downs and/or not wasting too much energy trying to get back to his feet, he offered nothing and actually got tagged with an over hand bomb from Khabib because he was thinking about the takedown attempt. If the rematch happens, which in my opinion it should be Tony first, then Conor needs to throw a ton more at Khabib, he needs to go after him, otherwise it'll be a repeat of the first match.

    • @rm9308
      @rm9308 5 лет назад +4

      A point karate match until the takedown happens, then slap the wrestler's ears until he he's in too much pain to focus on his wrist holds and you can get back up.
      There are two holes in Khabib's wrestling strategy, one on each side of his head.

    • @cheffjeff4645
      @cheffjeff4645 5 лет назад +9

      100% agree, Conor needs to get another win under his belt before taking on khabib again, and a Win over Ferguson would be very respectable and solidify him as still one of the best in the division. As well as boosting conors confidence. And when the Khabib rematch happens (which it will) conor needs to be way more offensive while protecting himself.

      Conor has been avoiding Ferguson for a looong time. Firstly, Conor doesn't deserve a re-match. Iaquinta took Khabib to 5 rounds on one day notice. He deserves a re-match more than Conor. Most likely Khabib will get suspended for a lengthy period by NSCAC, and then Conor wont have a choice but to fight Ferguson for an interim belt. Khabib fights the winner upon his return.

      This has nothing to do with a disability to handle verbal assault. It's true that two wrongs don't make a right but the adrenaline he was feeling at the time, compounded with Conor continuously cheating but getting away with it because Herb Dean was being a biased referee who closed not one but two eyes. And after he'd earned his win, Conor's team was still bent on trash talking (or should I say, screaming) his religion. It's a human factor. You're bound to react. The verbal aggressor (Dillon) knew this and did what he did to exacerbate the situation. Need I mention the bus incident, in which his innocent team member was nearly blinded from the glass shards that entered his eyes? After that, all people could talk was how hilarious it was since Conor was just being Conor. Oh, the double standards. What a humanitarian crisis, really.

    I truly believe these warriors put the UFC back to where it needs to be . At the end of the day warriors fight in a ring .
    No matter what how where or if . The more one grows the more humble one should become .
    These gentlemen just gave wonderful humans of Arabian nations world class sport . But these humans also showed how amazing their hospitality is as a nation . Truly changed me watching this last night ... showing youth of this planet to never give up on their dreams . But also how’s that it is not free and that the dedication and discipline is of such importance ........ I hear what you are saying about Mc G and you know so much about this that it would be disrespectful of me to participate in a dialogue . Ps . Lee doesn't fit. He has never truly fit and that's why he's been calling for 165 (on top of not being able to make weight). Tony or GSP are probably the only fights Khabib likely wants. GSP isn't likely to happen leaving a rematch with Conor the only real "money fight" (although I think having Tony v Pettis on the same card was brilliant in getting both seen and the Tony v Khabib fight will sell well, just not Conor or GSP superfight well). So Lee is at least behind those 3. Then there's still Poirier. I'm predicting (if Khabib isn't facing a long term suspension) Khabib v Tony and the winner of Poirier v Nate fighting Conor. If Khabib is out for a while (or retires, rumor is he's wanting to run for office in his home town), then Tony v Conor for vacated title and the winner of Poirier v Nate will be the first defense. Regardless of all these scenarios, I think Eddie is probably the only fight that makes sense for Lee. He's about 3 fights out from a title shot. And that win over Barboza has dropped in value over the time he's been inactive since that fight. He's just in too stacked a division.

    • @sky223223
      @sky223223 5 лет назад

      I highly doubt Conor won that round. Conor landed 18 significant strikes & Khabib landed 13 significant strikes. On top of that, Octagon control time for Khabib was way higher than Conor's. Not only that, Khabib still dominated the clinch position. And, its not JUST the strikes that wins the round.
      Maybe UFC tried everything to give Conor some sort of advantage if the fight goes to the decision.
      Cmon! Herb Dean didn't even warn Conor. He did 4 Fouls - Grabbed the shorts, Held the cage multiple times, Grabbed Khabib's gloves, Illegal knees to the head while on ground. UFC tried everything, but Conor still got RAPED!!!

    A huge reason why Khabib was able to land on Conor is due to the fact that Conor was really focused on the takedown and he neglected the possibility that Khabib could still throw hands. This happens in mma all the time and one of the best examples is when Chael Sonnen caught Anderson Silva in a very similar fashion when they fought. Conor would likely win if Khabib and him fought in a boxing only match. However, the threat of the takedown adds a whole other element.

      -kneeing a downed opponent to the head
      And not a SINGLE time was connor even warned.

    Khabib is not a glass jaw... Conor was wrong... And perhaps for the first time conors chin is tested for real... Not with nates shots...
    Conor does have a hard chin... But khabib has a rock chin.... That punch from khabib could have ko'd anyone... It did affect Conor... But he survived... Conor even somewhat survived the ground and pound... Anyways khabib mauled him

    • @mattsmith6961
      @mattsmith6961 5 лет назад +6

      Sunny A no McGregor got dropped but he was not rocked he was still able to keep his feet under him and didn’t actually hit the octagon he just stood right up it was quite impressive actually, it was like when Kevin Lee got hit by Barbosa, Only Kevin took a lot more damage obviously. And if he was rocked he would not have been able to take that ground and pound he took all of those shots and was all right like he said he came back and took the third round. But you are absolutely correct Khabib can take a punch, however the one two Diaz landed Hurt him a lot more which is evident from the desperate takedown he resorted to. Also I think Connor was completely overzealous, just like with Mayweather he had a son, which he has said himself to Aldo is a detriment to a fighter, he got extremely wealthy money makes you weak people widely agree on that especially when it comes to sports or even just contact sports, his wife is in the middle of her next pregnancy, his frame did not look good his arms looked alright but his definition was not there, he has clearly been drinking probably his own whiskey, his speed and accuracy were not there pretty much from the start in my opinion he just didn’t look good and I think all of the reasons I listed above are very reasonable reasons to conclude why that is, any one of those has taken out other combat sport athletes from their prime. In my opinion if the McGregor that fought Alverez were to have fought the McGregor we saw on Saturday the latter would have gotten his lights put out, his body looked better, his speed and accuracy was better than even Anderson Silva his fluidity, his reflexes from stuffing takedowns and slipping punches and his timing were just ridiculous, Eddie Alvarez is a top-tier fighter he was killing people before Connor and he was winning a lot of fights after Connor, but McGregor made him look like an amateur.
      Honestly he has children, which changes things in itself, that will also change his wife right now instead of burning with anger and passion after being defeated his wife is almost certainly comforting him telling him not to worry about it you have a son, and another child on the way and etc. once the kids are there women change that is biological fact, their expectations for their spouse become much more stringent and family-based (so do men but naturally, the women have much more of a drastic change). He has a lot of money to fall back on, and business ventures that he is wanting to look after, he’s no longer on welfare living in squalor that makes a fighter hungry… I just don’t think he can change and get better at his age considering all the factors above. He should have waited until he was done to have children (he was 100% right when he told Aldo children are a detriment to a fighter) , Choose business or MMA, and tell the woman for right now my legacy comes first… But it’s too late for all of that he needs to be training two times a day for the next six months to a year to change to evolve into a more well rounded fighter even to just become a more precise well conditioned striker.
      That’s just my opinion, I think maybe he could beat Dustin or Nate if he really focuses, and for the most part puts most things aside. But they will give him a go, Those 13 second knockouts, masterful performance like we saw with Alvarez are not coming back. Unless he literally put everything into training including a lot of fucking money.

    COULD YOU DO A VID OF WHY CONNOR DIDNT REALLY USE HIS LEFT HAND

    The mystique of Conor is gone. The whole "we just don't know how good he is" has been answered. Not sure how Chael can watch Nurmagomedov dominate McGregror in every aspect of MMA and dominate him for, essentially, the entire fight and then say that McGregor will beat Khabib in a rematch. We're still left with "Conor might drop a lucky left hand on Khabib" as Conor's best path to victory. There's no way you can spin a rematch between these two fighters based off of skill anymore. You can use the bus incident and post-fight brawl as a buildup, but you can't possibly sell this fight from the point of view of a "clash of skills". The mystique is gone and I have far less interest in even watching McGregor take on Diaz for a third time (let alone Khabib.)

      Im suprised people assume Conners left could knock out Khabib,his dad punished him with fists growing up and his dads hands are the size of minivans. His skull can take many punches without a problem i believe. Tony really is the better next opponent.

      Only match for connor i would be interested in is Tony. A rematch with Khabib would be a joke.

      Ferguson would stomp Conor almost as badly at this point.

      Right now yes, but maybe he will regain something that he had 2-3years ago so atleast he will look like somebody from ufc, against Khabib he looked like just a random guy from the street. And tony deserves a payday too :)

      He never said he'd beat him in a rematch, quite clearly at the end he says the opposite the fucking idiot

    So let me disprove everything that Chael just said:
    1. It doesn't matter if you defend 10 Khabib takedowns, he's just going to keep on coming and land 20 more.
    2. Edson Barboza took worse damage than Conor did in that second round in the entire fight, and still didnt give up. I dont know how this is even a topic to praise conor about.
    3. Round 3. Very debatable about who won that round. Khabib chose to stay standing with conor. AND conor didnt even land any big shots. Khabib wasn't tired he just chose to persue the fight this way.
    4. Round 4. This round is the reason why we know khabib wasn't tired and he just chose to stay standing. He lands a takedown and it's over from there.
    Conclusion: A rematch is literally unwatchable and ridiculous. Give us Tony.

      Well said, these McChicken cry babies are full of excuses. The whole world saw the fight. Clearly showed Khabib purposely toying McChicken despite him throwing multiple cheats. McChicken is worth nothing now especially against Khabib, it is Khabib vs Tony in the future.

    sorry newbie question, boxing guy here... are u allowed to kick your opponent when he is on the ground?? I was thinking, instead of trying to stuff a takedown, what would happen if you would knee or kick your opponent when he is going for the takedown?? or is that too risky?

    • @YoenesHara
      @YoenesHara 5 лет назад

      When both hands are on the ground, it's illegal to kick or knee the opponent. Connor did knee Khabib in that position and got laid off.
