- I wish the writers had finished this drama in a way that would allow me to make a happier video for the finale, but alas this was their option, so here we are. In my opinion this was such a waste, they had such potencial, such a beautiful story, such a beautiful background, the story when they were a child, the letters, they fact that they were each other's first love.
I don't even think the writers liked the main couple, I mean their storyline and scenes were awful, not romantic, with no storyline, even when Dosan asked Dalmi why she liked him, her answer was, "Because I do." No reason what so ever lmao worst main couple of kdrama story.

I'm mad not because dalmi is with dosan.. I'm mad because they left jipyeong hangging with such a sad ending... For a character with such a deep backstory for the whole series.. It feels like they ignore Mr. Han completely in last few episodes😭😭

Dlami and halmoni moved from there even if he did go to find them , he wouldn't have found them . He felt guilty towards the both of them . And when he did find dalmi he found grandma and tried to repay his debt cause he felt guilty . Jipyoeng wouldn't even have been sure that they would still be there they moved to Seoul a long time ago . Whereas Dosan knew that she'd be at the party . Isn't a good argument .
Just because he didn't find them for 15 years and dosan did doesn't make him any less credible for her love or friendship. The show gave us that poor excuse so people would stop shipping jidal . That was bad writing , as it only showed us that dalmi had completely disregarded the letters and failed to acknowledge her friend behind them . I don't want jidal , dodal is fine , they're good infact . I'm just frustrated with the way everyone treats him badly and like a punching bag , Dalmi , dosan , the whole of Sam San tech . And people make it seem like it was only jipyeongs fault about the letters , when it was halmoni .
He only wanted Dalmi to notice him. She did notice him, only for his business advices and attitude, not for his sacrifices.
FACTS
She didn't care about him at all . When he was sad and said he wanted a break and opened his heart and told her he'd be a loser for quite a while . She replied with that they're gonna bid in the smart city project. And you know what he said , he wished them luck , he only does that when he doesn't care about a company anymore .
It wasn't a satisfying ending at all 😥 the drama started with Han ji pyeong being alone... and ended with him still being alone !💔

i hate that the writers made dalmi care so strongly about the “dolsan of the letters,” even making her say she’d still choose him over the present dolsan, but when she finds out it’s Jipyeong, she abandons the whole thing almost completely. she doesn’t try to get to know him more, or thank him for the letters. and how come she wasn’t as awkward or “uncomfortable” with dolsan as with JP after she finds out? they both lied. if i was her, yeah i would’ve been upset that jp was behind it all, but touched in a way he went through so much to make me happy. there’s that weirdness established between her and jp that even prevents their relationship from growing THREE YEARS after dolsan leaves and JP confesses his feelings for her.
also, the scenes where she and jipyeong interact, i honestly think she acts distant and it’s odd. sure there’s moments where we see how caring she is with him (like when she brought the pine nut soup when he was sick), but there’s barely any substance for a deeper, romantic relationship. they gave dolsan the upper hand since the beginning with that, which makes no sense with the elaborate backstory in the first episode. if they would have given us scenes between JP and her like when dolsan takes dalmi to the field of flowers in the moonlight, or the cabin episode, it would have been an equal and more logical playing field for her to have to choose between them, and for us to sympathize with the difficulty.
lastly, dalmi has this hyper, eccentric, and fun personality in the first several episodes that fades away by the end of the show. i guess she matures and is more serious with all the difficulty she goes through, but it would’ve been nice if that persisted more. the drama between her and dolsan becomes more important than that, which kinda sucks
all in all, i still think it’s a great show. i just wish JP got a better ending

Han Ji Pyeong literally deserves the world. And all the happiness. And the love. He is the best second male lead you can ever have istg. Kim Seonho made his character stand out more. I love love love him❤. Hats off to him✨.

He is the main lead for me just because he did not end up with the main female lead does not mean he is second. He outshined and the show was about him for me.
Im still pissed they didnt end up together. How? I thought hes the main lead after the first 5 episodes tbh. And I was 100% sure theyd end up together. Then I watched a little further and realized start up isnt well known and realized the writers must have screwed up so I watched the last episode and sure enough... Han and her had sooooo much potential. He was silently protecting her, we can watch him fall for her. And shes clearly intrigued by him to, by him helping her and by him as a person. They had the perfect set up for an epic romance and a powercouple that rare to see. And what do they do? Go with the selfish, blubering idiot whos very immature from the beginning instead of the mature, knowledgable, selfless, loved-by-grandma white knight with the tragic backstory. WHAT IDIOT MADE THAT DECISION?
Am I the only one who tears up everytime I hear the words, *"With those hands, you beat our memories."* and *”I want her, it's so unfair."*

honestly idk what the writer was thinking, most of the relationship development scenes happened between hjp and dalmi, whereas the only time when dalmi & dosan have scenes it’s mostly about work and nothing else and the way i see it, the only reason dalmi is tgt w dosan is becos of his big brain of his, he’s not even that charismatic as hjp is to her gawd
and to make the audience (or should i say dodal shippers) like dodal relationship, they decided to give dosan an answer from dalmi that he likes him because the reason itself was him...im cringing so bad, they really tried to push for the “romantic” relationship of dodal. the drama after episode 13 is a waste of my time

Honestly had a little hope this drama would be the first to not make the male and female first lead end up together. Such hope they can change the game for future dramas for us who wished female leads picks the second lead instead. I also kept thinking back to when Dalmi answered her grandma's question about which dosan to pick, letter dosan vs present dosan... and she picked the boy who wrote her back then.... HAN JI PYEONG BASICALLY! Had such hope for Jidal to happen....

The worst part about this story was the photos they showed in DalMi and DoSan’s office in the last episode. Basically everyone was there except for JiPyeong. They could have at-least included him in the family pics so that the viewers know that they remained together as family and that JiPyeong was happy with everything. Instead they gave us that stupid scene where everyone is walking towards the shareholders meeting which made no sense at all considering how the photos clearly depicted that his character became just a nobody at the end. The writer must have really hated the character of JiPyeong. So disappointed. They shouldn’t have started the stupid love triangle in the first place.
Do San was 'attracted' to her at first 🤦 They were only together for a month or so and he grabbed her for a kiss even though he didn't know whom she 'really' liked. He couldn't wait. He stopped all of her communication with HJP by blocking them whenever they may cross paths. I mean, it might be jealousy but he knew that she liked the 'HJP' Dosan and HJP was also secretly liking her. Besides, we have HJP who was genuine and honest even though it might come his way. He said that Do San truly liked her. Actually the writer made a fool of all viewers. HJP and Dalmi were in Korea for 3 years but not once the topic of their relationship comes, but when Do San returns to Korea he asks her to look out for him. How is that practical?Writer nim, do we look like fools?She didn't want to hurt Dosan by destroying his dream so she sent off him to America by saying harsh words, she wanted good for him. But doesn't say a word to HJP who has been near her for 3 years. Very cruel of her character.
Totally agree she was very cruel with JiPyeong, she should have told him that he will be happy wihout her since beginning and not waste 3 years of man's life that love her😩😩

It's cruel but you can't force your feelings. It would be more cruel for Dal Mi to force her and HJP's relationship when she knows that Do San is the one she really like. I'm team good boy too but our Ji Pyeong deserve someone who would always choose him in a heartbeat and not someone who has a hung up past from a boy she met for a few months. Ji Pyeong deserves more than a Dal Mi.

they didn’t deserve this shitty ending, imagine if they ended up together. after all those years and after all they’ve been through, the universe showed them that it’s literally destiny! what were the possibilities that jipyeong would be one of sandbox’s biggest investor and that he would find ms. choi after all those years, in the year that dalmi happened to be competing. dosan should realize that his dream isn’t dalmi, he’s dream is himself! since the beginning dosan has always doubted himself and let ppl step on him so i think it would be a great ending if he ended up knowing that he himself can be happy without emotionally depending on anyone! so in my alternate ending, i would make dalmi marry jipyeong but still develop her company and be partners with dosan.

I agree with some viewers...the writer played the emotions of the viewers at the expense of Jipeong... All the heart broken episodes were given to Jipeong... even up to the end he was hurt... How can a person in love suddenly given up so easily... Look at the conversation of Jipeong with Grandma ... He will not cried that much if he was not in love and hurt... The writer failed to justified what should be a better ending even not ending with Dalmi - Jipeong team up... So frustrated
yes the writers did a terrible job they were not true to the storyline it would have been better if they had no storyline at all and what made it worse in the end they made him more lonely and miserable looking, terrible !!!
It's like children fighting and after a while made up in an instant. JP was crying too much with grandma consoling him meaning he was too hurt. And then suddenly, everything's ok. Huh? I'd rather him going away to heal. The viewers rooting for jp weren't even given time to process the direction of the story and the reason behind it.
I need an extra episode to clarify some aspects. It seems like Jipyeong was left out and his role was only to be a punching bag which helps the action to accelerate. He deserves a happy ending, it's not even about his character anymore but about the whole series... such ommision made it kinda messed up

The writing skills were terrible for this drama, they did not hold true to the storyline and apparently had no heart to have him have a happy ending instead of looking alone and sad.

Even if dalmi didn't love him but at least she should appreciate his efforts as a best friend maybe their bond would be much better... She could treat him alot better .... It isn't like she should have loved him but atleast girl love him as a best friend who was always there for you...
The finale and last 3 episodes were such a let down. The marriage with photo momentos and the Dalmi-Dosan couple holding hands in a corporate setting were cheesy. It seems cheesy because throughout the majority of episodes, the depth of each character were illustrated and their struggles and insecurities highlighted. To end with everyone happy and no conflicts seem unrealistic. The editing throughout the first 13 episodes showed emotions and body languages and the finale seemed to only include short bursts of emotion.
The chemistry between Dalmi and JiPyeong seemed to be more what "love" should be (care, shown through support and food) especially since the story starts with Dalmi choosing her father instead of a good life (money, education). The Dalmi-Dosan relationship seems superficial and romantic because the series portrays an immature, physical attraction ignited by a mistaken assumption that Dosan was the person who had wrote the original letters. If Dosan was not taller or more handsome than JiPyeong, the storyline would have been more credible as in the earlier episodes, Dalmi had chosen her dad over Mr. Won and she is presented in the earlier episode as someone who would choose good character and principles over excitement.
The writer spent so much thought and time setting up the stage of JiPyeong and the Seo family, showing weaknesses and conflicts amonst all of the characters and then seems to finish hastily the last 3 episodes:
the 3 year period of the "family time" amongst Dalmi, Halmeoni, Dalmi's mom, and JiPyeong should have been expanded with more time between Dalmi and JiPyeong;
how Dosan matures should have been expanded
Its difficult for many TeamJiPyeong followers to accept that JiPyeong is "okay" with Dalmi choosing Dosan especially since JiPyeong has habitually covered over or lied about his true feelings and the short scene with "sorry, ok" was such a cop out after so many moments of JiPyeongheartache and Dalmi confusion
the SamSunTech conflict of giving up their space shows they still are young, immature men and so the "matured (over 3 years) Dalmi seems too old for Dosan
since Injae has shown to put in a lot of work and is capable with corporate operations, it seems odd to not develop her story at the finale more
What could have been considered a well-written script throughout, episodes 14-16 prove the writer is exhausted and the scripts seem hastily written just to finish the project in a short timeline.
Now the story does not beg for a season 2.
Ugh, so true. Especially the HJP part. Since he is someone who keeps lying about his feelings just to ease her(anyone's) worries, why should we think that the last 'okay' is truly him letting go? And to invalidate himself as the Dosan who wrote the letters- aghhh
It's hard to accept that HJP gets a happy/satisfying/good ending when all he wants was the warmth a family would offer. Yet, in the end, HJP is still left alone, having no family (except grandma, tho maybe not for long) to return to

Well its interesting the fact that Hospital Playlist did have an open ended ending which leaves room for season 2. Imo start up is able to replicate this as well, a possible season to but this time really HJP taking the lead and mentoring new start ups at sandbox. removing dodal from the equation since they alr got married, ntng to explore or develop there anymore.
plus from a marketing and business standpoint, netflix and tvn wont really lose out since KSH popularity is skyrocketing and every industry player wants to invite him for their events or collabs.

jipyeong was supposed to end up with dalmi but since the actor and actress of dalmi and dosan were in the same the company, the company wanted dosan to stand out so they made the writer change the script in ep15 and now dosan is with dalmi 😠

Everything was about Dal-mi ughh!! Ji-Pyeong deserves the love and happiness that Do-san and Dal-mi had. He was such a selfless person. Always good at heart but nobody except for Ms. Choi noticed that. Mr. Han deserved a happy ending more than anyone. 😭❤️

The most intriguing, most memorable, most lovable character in this series is that of Mr.Han.

The screenwriter got lost and failed miserably.
From my completely biased point of view, there is absolutely nothing romantic between Dal mi and Do san.
The way the screenwriter erases the significance of the letters between JP and Dal mi is so lame if not contrived and pathetic: since Dal mi and JP both benefited from reading the letters they wrote each other in their youth, their feelings should cancel out and become zero, just like in a mathematical equation. How conveniently rational! And Dal mi seems more than happy to accept JP's assertion that he is not the Nam Do san from the letters. All problems are solved! Wow!

I was watching this drama..and watched till 3 episode but I have a habit to reach and find the information about the drama i liked but.. when I reached it then find out the Han-ji-pyeong is not be able to together with her... then I was heartbroken..and I stopped watching and cry alot..I am not saying that the main lead was not good.. but still.....and i am not his fan till now..this my first drama of his..hi won my heart....and I am looking forward to his good dramas...

Agreed. Totally do not like the relationship of Do San and Dalmi. The relationship itself seems superficial. And the genuine relationship in the background with JiPyeong overlooked. Sending the message of a pretty face is valued OVER genuine and acts of love from JiPyeoung. It cheapens Dalmi' s character and makes the audience not like the so called "main characters" of the story. A real disappointment and annoying to see how the main characters developed. Dalmi has become the superficial heroine. Probably Ep 4-5 I realized the direction of the story and shifted focus and had hopes on how they would develop Dalmi's relationship with her older sister, but instead the series ends with a superficial relationship and drums out Jipyeongs genuine character. Really disappointing this drama and its promising start -something I would not bother watching again cos of the bad after taste it leaves . Im on ji Pyeongs side and the actor did a great job playing his character. Well done on that regard!

Totally agree, your words are on point 100%. They started off with the orphan getting help from Grandma he riding letters to help her granddaughter through those rough times and then ignored the whole beginning and brought in a pretty boy who already had family and friends and completely disregarded the storyline in the beginning. The writers of this drama did a terrible job throwing everything in the mixed, I have seen better written dramas portrayed and true to the storyline with a decent ending. This was one of the worst endings I have seen. if they just wanted two people to get together they should have left out the whole beginning. when you have a good storyline you hold true to it. They completely deviate from the path and threw all sorts of unrelated things in there. Never true to the storyline in the beginning. A total waste

The biggest downfall of this drama is not having Han Jipyeong get Dalmi. Thanks to Han Jipyeong’s character that kept the drama going. Honestly, without his character, that drama would not have been as famous as it is now. Lol the whole world is searching up Kim Seon Ho & Han Jipyeong.

You can be that person. You can be Nam Dosan even after exchanging letters for 15 years with Dalmi, it can happen if you don't use Dosan's name for that letters, it can happen if you reveal your real self ready without using real Dosan to meet her in the first time, but it can happen too if you don't too late to realize your feelings for Dalmi !!. I don't hate Jipyeong.. What I hate is why Jipyeong and Dalmi don't endgame. This is very painful.😢
They not ending up together makes zero sense, they made me believe it was endgame at first, I am not finishing the kdrama, I'm in chapter 4 and I already can't take it, I mean I like the other boy but i really don't like him with her. Out of all the comments all I see is people saying Han ji pyeong was wronged and that Dalmi didn't deserve him but the whole time reading these comments I keep thinking about how he brought this among himself he could have told her the truth that he was behind the letters but didn't he brought the other guy (sorry couldn't think of his name ) he created their relationship and I think sure he will regret doing probably for the rest of his life but it doesn't stray from the fact that he is the reason they even ended up together or even met because of his lie. The sad part is that the only reason she fell in love with nam do san is cuz of his name and not han ji pyeong because he wasn't do san although he had the personality of the guy who wrote her letters to she still was in love with the illusion of loving the actual do san rather than liking him for his personality.

Muito, muito frustrante e revoltante!!! Nem terminei de assistir mas já estou com raiva. O personagem HAN não merecia, pelo que estou lendo nos comentários, ele foi uma pessoa ajudou em tudo que pôde, demonstrou gratidão pela avó, foi uma pessoa sincera, batalhou , lutou , progrediu, ser com maturidade e seriedade, etc. Enfim, não foi um babaca inseguro de baixa auto estima que se aproveitou da situação alheia desde pequeno se fazendo de vitima ainda por cima . Não foi justo. No mínimo poderiam ter colocado no final um par para o diretor Han à altura da sua nobreza , alguém que o mercesse e desse o verdadeiro valor porque o coitado só FOI USADO NESSE DORAMA 😢

I don't get why people keep on saying Ji Pyeong didn't get a happy ending. Why, because he didn't get the girl? I mean seriously, if you really watched Ji Pyeong's storyline from the start, it was never really about winning Dalmi's heart, but rather it was about finding someone to truly call family, and that family being Halmeoni. From the start we find Ji Pyeong as an orphaned loner trying to find his way around, and he soon meets Halmeoni who treats him like a real grandson, though that is short-lived as Ji Pyeong leaves for Seoul to find wealth & success. 15 years after that, Ji Pyeong is now a wealthy & successful man with luxuries most people could only dream of, but we soon find out that he's actually still alone in the world with only an A.I. keeping him company, and we also find out that he hasn't had any contact with Halmeoni for 15 years. Soon fate brings him to Halmeoni again, culminating to him finally accepting the grandmotherly love that Halmeoni has always been ready to offer to him in the last scene of them together when Halmeoni visits Ji Pyeong's home for the first time. We tend to get so caught up with all the romance in dramas that we tend to forget that happy endings don't need to mean finding romance, it could actually be a lotta other things, and in Ji Pyeong's case it is finding someone to call family.
