I competed in this sport 30 yrs, been around it 40 yrs. I was standing right behind him when he hit the 452 ball, its the greatest ball I have ever seen up close and personal, and I have seen 1 million balls hit in Longdrive
I can't wait until someone invents a flat fairway!!! I have heard legends about mythical flat lands... but it's still just crazy rumors at this point...
Years ago I hit my all time best drive. And it was during the Oldsmobile classic tournament in Phoenix. The hole was a 425 yard downhill blind dog leg left. The other guys hit to the flat. So I could swing away. I play MacGregor Tourney persimmon woods with original shafts and grips. The driving club is a 1-1/2. I had no idea where the green was other than over there. So I swung from my socks. And that was when the magic occurred. I did not feel the contact at all. I heard the beautiful explosion and just swung through like butter. I knew it was left over the protruding desert but that was about it. So off we went and easily found the balls in the flat. I was stomping around in the desert and our playing pro went ahead. Then he whistled. My ball was 18” from the cup. The guys ahead were still on the green when my ball slammed into the frog hair, took one hop and rolled right up there. They could not believe it was a tee shot. It was also the first hole we played so we were instantly two shots up on the pack. What a day. We tied for first and lost in a rainy chip off; saving us the cost of paying our own way to Orlando for the finals.
I am writing because your comment has reminded me of one of my longest drives in a tournament I ever had (MacGregor Tommy Armour, persimmon that i still have but retired it, half cord grips and the stiffest shaft you could buy in 1971 hitting an x-out 105 compression Top "Rock"). On the fourth at Diboll, Texas public course. At 11 years old I drove front right 425 par 4. It changed my life. Even though I three putted, I have never forgotten the feeling of not feeling the contact and the look of amazement on my foursome and the group in front of us. Now 53 years later, I still love this game. I don't think I ever swung that hard again but I knew I could. Today with TaylorMade metal head and graphite shaft, I hit it much more consistent and accurately but it never felt as good as that persimmon, swung as hard as I possibly could, hit in the screws and watching it go 100 yards farther than anything I had ever hit. Thank you, for the memory assist. Blessings
Memo to event organizers…if you’re trying to create a heavyweight prize fight atmosphere with the contestant introductions…may want to go with a male ring announcer.
Try putting the mic NEXT to the where the ball is struck..so we can HEAR what it sounds like to mash it..... Just copy the PGA...it's not hard. It'll be a MUCH better telecast.
I'm really interested in the video regarding the kid spoken about by the announcer who used a driver for all shots finishing 1 over after 9 holes! Plz post it
Looks like I‘m not too shabby at my personal best of 383 yards on a normal course 😅 it’s pretty satisfying when you only have a 30 yard chip shot left on a Par 4
My mom used to hit the ball over 300 yards @ the range wen I wuzza kid . . . She still hits it about 240 and shez 65 yo now . . . Still normally beets me becuz she can chip and putt . . .
Two years ago I think. The last time Kyle won. He advanced further than most people said I could do. I do not remember exactly but it was somewhere around the quarterfinal he lost. (Different format back then.)
I don't think I could play a round with Zach Johnson with that goofy swing. At least Kyle's swing looks pretty conventional now and he's becoming a better golfer too.
I bet I could hit a ball over them mountains back in the day...in hindsight..man if could go back... if only coach put me in at state if only cost us tbe match.
I did get a gummy hummer at the motel that night and contracting hepatitis was just like having a cold back then. Everyone scared of COVID should definitely invest $20 ina lot lizard without teeth... You'd be surprised what you think worth caring about following a fr'bustr'ated release. Disappointed at times, and I'll be the first to admit that after a freaky search on youplrn, the tabs are cleared before I even pulse the last throbbed ejact is completely drained.
Just clicked on this after watching grant horvat with a long drive competitor. Interested to know if they are decent at normal golf. Just seems to be whacking as hard as you can and just luck if it goes straight.
This sport needs some work. It is boring to watch on video maybe better in person? The camera work needs… uh…work. You can hardly tell where the ball is. Also, the first two guys take 12 shots and get 2 fair? The scoring should include some bonus for fair balls or maybe total distance for 3 or 4 balls? I get it’s a total distance contest but it’s kind of boring when most people are counting 1 or 2 of 6.
Can't say I enjoy this. It's a sport of Mulligan's and worse than that I suspect most of these guys will end up with life changing back issues (like me). In fact, the way gymnasiums have become fashionable I suspect in 40 years time there will be an epidemic of skeletal joints issues. The human body never evolved for this kind of repeated punishment and while you can keep soft tissues healthy, joints wear out regardless.
Why is every new competition in America immediately an overproduced corporate championship? Disc golf - done. Long drive - done. Next up, going over Niagara Falls in an ashtray - brought to you by Tampax.
I’ve been playing golf for a little while and have heard of long drive but haven’t really watched it Are these people actually just no gimmick no bullshit hitting like 400 yard drives every time?? Like is there nothing different going on wtf
@@vantageszn absolutely. I’d say he is excellent. Still has the “long ball swing “ off the tee, but it works. And then from there on in he is solid. Great short game on putting too.
I would love to watch, but the camera dudes are trash. Cant see anything. Sometimes, you have the tracer on, but come on team. EDIT: Video/camera quality got better as it went on. Its watchable after the first few match-ups.
Skip the chat , 2x the swings and finally watch a dude acting like a WWF roid bro hit 430 yards..of course he gets there by hitting the sweet spot on the club head but also the hill(!), yes the hill on the right side of the grid. This couldn’t be more boring (to me) but then I never connected either the WWF. Don’t waste 2 hours of your life on this.
What a fun week! Excited to see the sport continue to progress next year! 🚀💣
Congrats! Has been amazing to follow you!
Welcome back
It’s obvious you’re using magical spells
great job Kyle!
It's not a sport. Golf is a sport. This is basically competitive eating with a driver.
I competed in this sport 30 yrs, been around it 40 yrs. I was standing right behind him when he hit the 452 ball, its the greatest ball I have ever seen up close and personal, and I have seen 1 million balls hit in Longdrive
Kind of ridiculous the grid isn't flat. What's a hill doing in the middle lol
Did you see that big steel plate in the middle of a field? Yup 450! 😂
Yeah I really don't get that.
I believe they call them “golf courses” apparently it’s what normies use it for. Lame if you ask me
Premium on accuracy.
Golf isn’t easy or fair. Courses can be tough. That’s the way it goes. Fun competition though. Unique.
This needs to be in the Olympics
Now there HAS to be a dude out there that has perfected the Happy Gilmore technique...
And THAT guy NEEDS to be in every final 💯
I can't wait until someone invents a flat fairway!!!
I have heard legends about mythical flat lands... but it's still just crazy rumors at this point...
Phillis Meti is on a whole nother level official record 414yards and an unofficial PR record of 428 😮😮 incredible woman incredible athlete
Wheres Martin at?? just started the vod and im already missing him!

I never was much into golf, but I do love going to Top golf here in Phoenix to just hit that ball as hard as I can, it’s fun!
whats with the leg up and down guy?
That is such a weird startup. So weird. You’ll never see a pro golfer doing that 😂
The donkey kong stomp swing
what great moment for the Champs, nice covering video. thanks. Salam rukun damai sejahtera dari Bali
Gabi Powel , wow... breath taking!!!!!
Not sure how Belton made it so far but the Lieving and Meti definitely deserved to be there
I feel like theres a world long drive championship every week all year long according to my feed.
what did he say at 1:56:04 😂
Meti has that mom strength. 💪💪
Yeah let's just have a big hill in the middle of a long drive grid. So dumb.
Makes it about aim too, don't see anything wrong with it
@@Taureg Its called longest drive. If its aim you want then it should be called dart golf.
Love this! So fun to watch! Congrats to everyone in the final 8’s
Kyle Berkshire is quickly becoming the Tiger Woods of Long Drive.
I only watch this once a year, so it may be common, but hills in the landing area seems incredibly dumb. Brings luck far more into play.
More like accuracy...
Memo to event organizers…if you’re trying to create a heavyweight prize fight atmosphere with the contestant introductions…may want to go with a male ring announcer.
All shots should have tracers and MPH. Better camera men and this would be watchable.
Kyle got lucky this time.He could not control his club head very well 😅
Try putting the mic NEXT to the where the ball is struck..so we can HEAR what it sounds like to mash it..... Just copy the PGA...it's not hard. It'll be a MUCH better telecast.
9:12 hit front left shoulder😂😂 not to be confused with his back left shoulder
Winter Soldier with the clutch shot!
I wonder how well these athletes play the entire game. It certainly would make the par 5's easier.
158 clubhead speed??? That's my ball speed. Geez...LOL
i dont wanna be that guy but why are world's being held anywhere but mesquite. That's the only legit good grid these guys hit on.
thats what im sayin. this grid is cheeks. hills?!?!
It's a huge production
Drone shot shows just how popular long drive is
It would be nice if there were some more cameras. I literally can't see the ball at all and just wait for the announcer to say the distance.
I'm really interested in the video regarding the kid spoken about by the announcer who used a driver for all shots finishing 1 over after 9 holes! Plz post it

Bobby Ray claims to be better than most one armed golfers, something he should be proud of
What a year it has been!
Welcome back to the top! Way to go Kyle!
Only 6 shots is horsecrap. I get there were a lot of rounds before this. But it is still no way to determine a champion
The lady announcer for mens final be worst I ever heard in 20 years, need find new one for 2024
maybe the in play area needs to be 200 ft wider
Zack Holton... has... a very interesting swing.
We need to start having it at night again... views are plummeting..
Wasn't Bryson in this last year or was that a differnt long drive tournament?
Two years ago I think. The last time Kyle won. He advanced further than most people said I could do. I do not remember exactly but it was somewhere around the quarterfinal he lost. (Different format back then.)
@@ExbotHeroThat's correct, but he was also in the championship last year and he came in second place.
@@therealrobrub 👍
16:13 did he say out of the gaydar?
Finally
Just took 1 month to uploud. What are they doing, smoking????
If I dare to take a swing that fast, that will be my last swing. 🤣
I don't think I could play a round with Zach Johnson with that goofy swing. At least Kyle's swing looks pretty conventional now and he's becoming a better golfer too.
being on the boom lift 100 yards left looks risky.
Much do you get for wining worlds and 2 place
they should make it an average distance, 5 duck hooks and one pured shot is hardly fun to watch
They need to have a long drive contest for hackers. Longest top down the middle.
why not just get a flat grid? so confused why thats what actually determines there distances and thats how they do it
Kylie has God rooting for him.😉😇 Congrats to Kyle Berkshire and Monica Lieving.
Ky;e Berkshire. Pretty confident for a guy with plugs.
No Bry Roberts from Wales..?
16 s white sounds good
Kyle is a true champion. Nobody wants it more
So it's too much trouble
to make the grid flat?
Ridiculous
#norcallongdrive baby!
His best speed was when he held backswing parallel.
Terrible camera coverage. You can't see any of the balls.

Drive for show, putt for dough. Ben Hogan
Proper red neck mullet
Congrats Kyle!!!!!
The woman’s final was a joke, no point trying to swing big and being in the “top of sport” and yet both struggled to hit within the grid
🚀🚀🚀💣💣💣
Why don’t they hit one after another. Throw women’s final could have been so much better.
Agree on the course not being flat…
try just hit it ? I played in Hainan and hit 375 with normal swing on par 5
Carnt wait for transgender to tee it up

Where's Happy Gilmore?
GOLF ON TV: How do we get more viewers, and make golf less boring?
GOLF ON TV BRAINIAC: I know, let's watch the same shot over, and over, and over.

camera work is terrible. shot tracer is on every 4th shot. no club head speed. Incorporate all your info.
😘😘😘😘😘💋💋💋
No shot tracer, crap commentators, no thanks.
No Donald?
Where's Rory haha
this grid is so cheeks.. LD comp and theirs hills.. thats silly

Let's swing hard af with no skill
What a circus! Do any of these ‘golfers’ play at any level? I’d rather hit 250 yds on the fairway than 450 yds anywhere.
Berkshire is good at real golf too just watch his RUclips channel
What level do you play at champ?
It's like the WWE of golf 😂

Great content, but what is with that god awful noise/music when theyre teeing up? Not all of us are meth heads
Better late than never I guess. Talk about a delay
Ok , what about short ball championship for the DEI noseblowers
Uummmm, if you keep missing left then maybe aim further right, don't know, just guessing.

A lot of these guys just couldn’t make it in football and decided to pick up a golf club and start swinging it as hard as possible
