Absolutely hammered!!!! Man Kyle can just completely demolish that ball.... And what is more crazy is just how straight that guy can hit. Truely awesome.
Before he hits the shot, I like how Kyle is on the course talking through all the variables. It reminded me of Evil Knievel before a stunt. Great job, BTW.
Congratulations Kyle, this is insanity. There's a reason why you're a world record holder for LD & hold many titles. This record will hold for years to come. Wow 🫡
Yeah , that’s nuts! 579+ to be honest, that’s like 390 yards further than I can go! I’d have to go Driver,3 wood,3 wood,54 wedge to get that far. And that’s getting all my strikes perfectly.
Well, it happened to the absolutely right guy, the incredible Kyle Berkshire! I got to say that there are some pretty funky looking long drive swings out there but Kyle's is pure poetry and would not look out of place on any pro golf tour in the world so there's something to be said about that unbelievably powerful and very esthetically pleasing motion having been the one to accomplish such a prodigious feat. Those launches started to look like they needed to file a flight plan with Space X :-) Awesome. Cheers.
Congrats Kyle!! That is so badass! You are crushing that ball! Keep it up , I have no doubt you can get over 600 with the right conditions! Great man for the sport and an inspiration to all bro!!! Good luck!!
I was just in Rawlins and played Rochelle. Awesome course. Cool to see where Kyle set the record. Any idea on when the next record try will take place?
Congrats on the record! The farthest drive I've heard of before this one, other than those with cart path assistance, was 575 by Ryan Winther, some time back in the early 2010's. Keep the records coming Kyle👍 You got 600 in ya!
All the factors that any golfer on any course at any time, sanctioned play or not, could have in their favour: legitimate ground, wind, temperature, humidity, ball and club, skill level, experience or whatever. They just set all of them up to all the optimum levels possible. Results may vary. Well done sir.
It's a long drive all right, but it should also be noted that this course is 2,270 yards above sea level. The ball travels further through thinner air.
Well yeah and it had 40 mph gusts the help push it, they weren't hiding any facts that they were maximizing ball flight. I agree though I think there should be a conditions check on a record like this.
I just love this new format you came up with. More interesting than your golf match con tent. Although I still like you doing golf match content. This is just much more fun. Congratulations on a new world record.
In disc golf they go out in the desert with super wind. There has to be some regulations and I mean wind, altitude, yadayada. I play a course in Goleta Ca on a par 5 I’ve seen a ball roll within 60 yards because of a cart path and the next hole the ball rolls back within 60 yds of the tee.
But don’t forget ,Mike Austin did it with a wooden headed driver and Balata golf ball. No comparison to modern equipment, beat his drive with the same equipment , not gonna be easy I guarantee!!
Was Mike Austin's shot on video? I'm not doubting you. I'm genuinely curious about how they measured that distance, what the ball actually carried, what the ball speed was, how much distance did he get on the roll out, and so on. I'd really like to see how he did it instead of just trusting stories. I don't doubt he hit a mammoth drive, but when you say, "Mike Austin did it," are you saying his shot went 579 or that he hit over 500 yards? If Kyle were to use a wooden head driver, he'd splinter it in just a few shots. Those clubs weren't meant to withhold the type of ball speed Kyle has. If it isn't on video, the shot can't really be referenced unless he had professionals out there tracking the ball and measuring the distance.
@@ParaRob Agreed, just like those 550 foot drives from Babe Ruth and Mickey Mantle, where the source of where it landed was a young boy saying "it hit here"....
@@ParaRob No, not on video that I know of, it was in 1974 at a seniors tournament. Mike Austin was very tall, had 27mph wind behind him, and if you watch other video of his swing, it was very before-it’s-time, in terms of how it compares to then and now. Crazy he did that in his 60s, though.
Not really a record. You cannot turn up to a made up golf hole with some pals and claim a world record. World records are set in tournaments, longdrive events, verified independently. I might have hit a drive 580 down a mountain, is that a world record? Like Thor lifting 501kgs in his home gym, that is nice but it is no record.
I love golf and I love this record!! Well done man!! You seem to be a great custodian for such a cool feat. Thanks for posting and good luck keeping the record!!
Seriously, it could not happen to a nicer guy. I Met Kyle at the Pete Dye course in French Lick, Indiana and he was such a good dude. just sat around answering questions and taking pictures with anyone who asked.
Only the two greatest sports can have defined sub-genres all to themselves: Golf and long drive, and basketball and dunking. Well done Kyle. Absolutely crushed it!
Many years ago, I met Jason Zuback while he was practicing drives. He said he swung so hard that he had stress fractures in many of his bones. He also appeared to be heavily into steroids. Kyle is actually far more supple and flexible, IMHO. Putting one's body through this sort of stress takes a toll. I hope Kyle takes care of himself.
Kyle hits it a long ways, no doubt. I'd literally take half this distance for my average driver distance and be very happy. With that said, did anyone catch the guy at about the 13:10 mark say "miserable golf conditions" to try and set the record? Huh? Miserable golf conditions would be at sea level with the wind in your face, not 2000+ feet above sea level with a 25mph wind at your back. I had to play it back 3-4 times to make sure that's what he said. Scratching head on that comment.
Congratulations on the incredible records!! I can’t believe I missed that you were in Wyoming and I missed it. If your ever back in Wyoming I’d love to meet you and have you sign my cobra headcover.
I've seen Kyle record a 575-580 yard drive posted to RUclips. That is 3 times the distance of the average golf Drive off the tee. Most golfers Drive the ball between 175 to 200 yards. Just think, Kyle hits it more than twice the distance of the PGA Tour average Drive. It would take 2 Drives of 290 yards to Drive the ball a little past Kyle's Drive of 575 to 580 yards which was likely hit at high elevation where the air is thin I'm guessing? Likely around 6800 feet above sea level for this kind of record.
Sorry boys not even close. During regulation paly of the Texas Open at Oak Hills CC sometime in the 80's on hole number three a drive was measured somewhere in the 725 yard mark. The pro had to hit a three wood pitching wedge to get back to the par four green. The caveat being there is a cement drainage ditch running down the property line of the course that the ball had entered. Local rule is it is a manmade hazard and therefore a no penalty drop is allowed and the ball is in play. There is a slight downhill grade running the direction of the hole. Miraculously after several huge bounces forward the ball stayed in the ditch and came to rest, yes, well over 700yads from the tee.
Mike Austin hit his drive with a persimmon wood head steel shafted 43.5 inch driver with a balata ball. With that equipment, I doubt anyone would ever top it.
Mike Dobbyn hit 551 in tournament golf. Just because Guiness does not say its a record does not mean it is not a record. Not free to get into that book and no one wanted to pay the fee
Stop the Mike Austin 515 yds heresey, it rolled off the green and someone just said that it landed where it did. Must have been thousands of balls hit that also went beyond Mike Austin's drive...as long as the distance depends on where someone says it landed.....or lands on hard surface like trails, concrete or green.
I'm pretty sure they said he carried 500 in this video. That's is absolutely insane. You've got that right. 326 is a heck of a carry tho. You had every right to be over the moon! What really amazed me was the consistency of which he was hitting the balls straight. If I tried to swing my driver the way he does, no one around me is safe unless they're standing right in front of me. Lol!
I like watching these big hitters, but it was good to see the Dod King beat Martin Borgmeier. 100 yards behind Martin and hitting driver off the deck. 😂😂😂 soft mits baby. That's what it's all about. 😂😂😂😂
11:10 “only went 540 yards” LOL
Absolutely hammered!!!! Man Kyle can just completely demolish that ball.... And what is more crazy is just how straight that guy can hit. Truely awesome.
u know data can be faked...I was in the long drive contestant some of the balls are HOT.
Even if his is which I doubt it is because it was verified for the WR and even if it was, he can obviously hit a ball very very far.

Wow that's cool using walkie talkies to follow your drives. They use Dixie cups on strings to tell me my drive distance
Did they take the curvature of earth into account 🤣
@@PhilMilkensoncurvature? On a flat earth? Cmon man!
Thats cool using Dixie cups on strings. They just write the distance on a Post-it note and hold it up to tell me my drive distance

Unbelievably accurate, so many of them so perfect one after the other. Built different 💪🏼

They make a little blue pill for that
Congratulations Kyle,,,,,,That's an Amazing Achievement

Great stuff. Enjoyed watching Kyle.
So does that mean if I chip a ball into a tornado and it lands 800 yards away I’m a record holder?

Cool shot still Mike Austins 515 is mighty impressive considering it was in a tournament one shot chance with persimmon wood.
Well his 515 never happened as Google Maps shows the hole and he only had 440 yards of room. It was always nonsense.
