#Hungrybox #Zain #Genesis7 - Игры
That UpSmash was instantly iconic
It’s sets like these that make me feel like melee is going to be around for another 20 years
This was some of the most exciting gameplay I have ever seen in my life.
I never thought I would say that about a dreamland puff Marth set
Unreal
Plus, it's the fact that Zain is innovating new combos and kill confirms on Jigglypuff with Marth. Mew2king had always dropped his Marth when facing Jigglypuff. With Zain in this set, he got a chain grab on Jigglypuff and consistently killed Hungrybox with a down throw pivot tipper forward smash at around 55-70% several times.
@@vanillaplanifolia2525 Sort of. It's the fact that Jigglypuff is losing when she usually isn't. New kill confirms and new tech breathe new life and make stuff fresh. It's why Axe vs Silent Wolf was so hype in 2014 because Axe was bringing new tech to the table with Pikachu's edgeguarding. I would even go so far to say it was hype when Mang0 first played Jigglypuff back in 2008. Maybe I'm wrong about this last statement, but the overall point still stands: bring new tech, Melee gets hype.
22:18 Zain with the real life thundercat
"That was a 6 minute game Chillin. That was a 6 minute game."
Vish forgetting it’s 2020
Thank you, I was getting really confused
LOOOL damnit =_=
Hell yeah lol he's lost in the hype
mcfam TOO MUCH SAUCE
That second game was dope
i keep rewatching this set. game two was an instant classic.
10:38 *Images that proceed legendary moments* Dammn! What a hype set Jesus, especially for Marth v Jigglypuff! GGs to Zains phenomenal play and to Hbox! 👏👏😄💖💜
I'm here right after The Upsmash. The other 4 gods smiled down on Zain for that.
That’s exactly why I came to the comments too lmao
Ending of game 2 was so tense
I really hope the Genesis crew has cameras every where because I want to see these pop offs from all angles.
second game on dreamland was the best part of the whole tournament
Zain made mogul moves
End of game 2 defies description
MOGUL MOVES
That early Up B ledge grab Zain did to counter the sing stall edgeguard was brilliant. Also I don't know what method he uses (I think just double stick interrupt), but his pivot consistency is truly immaculate.
I love these guys' sets!
Rip Kobe ❤️
2:30-2:34 Wooow Hbox almost NEVER misses that, what a way to end the hype set! GGs, Zaiiiin!! 👏👏😭💜
Most iconic up smash of all time
I am convinced end of game 2 was a camera trick, so that hbox thought he was in the air but landed on the platform earlier than he thought so an fsmash came out instead of an aerial
I believe so too
second game was sooooooooo hype its insane
End of the second game reminds me of the last game of PP vs Armada at apex 2013. One of the most intense moments I've seen.
I couldn’t imagine game 2 live
Game two was madness!!!
This set was insane
WOW that missed rest looked really close
a good addition to these sets would be being able to see twitch chat during the hype moments
best set of the tournament imo
Spoilers:
It's because of the new videos zains been making. In an alternate universe where he wasn't a content creator that rest landed.
Surprised there haven't been any comments about HBox's discomfort on FD. Nearly everytime he retreats to ledge to refresh jumps, he reaches for his face. Starting at 17:30 you'll see him do it 3 times in a row, then again around 19:05, not sure if tired or actually irritated. Almost looks like he's trying not to sneeze XD
holy fuck thats the best marth v puff i've ever seen
lud really helped Zain prac for this match
I'm glad I didn't read the comments before watching.
Dang, I can't believe HBox missed ledge for that airdodge. He could have had pulled something out of his cheeks for sure. Good game by both though :)
is there a max time limit between games? feel like hbox chose yoshi's to try and get an extra minute to reset. to me, if hbox input it onto yoshi's, it should've been played on yoshi's.
Nah he just accidentally hit random but I do think they should add a shot clock in between games cuz it’s been getting a bit ridiculous with *some* people
all 4 stocks game 1 taken by fthrow pivot fsmash. such consistency
Goddam that upsmash
I miss IRL tournaments
10:35 POP THE BUBBLE
Daaamn
Zain ledge cancelling like no other
When Zain won, I kinda wish Leffen had run up onstage and hugged him.
That’s the first time I’ve seen hbox miss a rest
Yay zain
Zain!
that game 2 popoff lmao love it
Zain got 2 forward throw pivot f smash kills in seconds in game one
I feel like even if Zain ultimately lost this set his mid-set pop-off would still have been warranted even for winning the dreamland counterpick.
Hbox did pretty good. But playing ultimate has really taken a toll on his timings.
Zain with the mogul moves
the plan is simple
8:34 - 10:41 !!!!!!!!
how did hbox miss????
Zain has an ultra big brain.
7:46 shit every time I see this they give me a crazy laugh 😂😂😂
Zain is insane
If Zain wins Genesis I'm pretty sure Ludwig HAS to sponsor Zain lol
Mogul Moves!
he just won :)
Zains fucking sick
HBox needs to drop Puff in Ultimate, seems like it screwed up his muscle memory
Ol_AgonY Please stop using that as an excuse. He has played Melee for 17 years, that is not a valid excuse and really devalues the work both these players put into the game.
@@ethanmcroy you okay?
He mistimed his Rest because he inputs it too early, in Ultimate, that would have connected but not in Melee.
He missed that rest cause he's playing ultimate
I think so too. Very unlike him to miss like that.
Feels so cheap to use that as an excuse, for a game Hungrybox has played for 17 years.
Ethan McRoy yeah but we’ve seen hbox play, he doesn’t miss those. The sets outcome probably would’ve been the same even if it did land, but w/e
@@ethanmcroy Its a valid reason to look at when a player starts regularly missing stuff that they haven't missed more than a handful of times in years.
This may have just been a bit of an off day for Hbox, but he still missed 4 rests in 2 sets vs Zain. That's super out of character for the puff master.
No John's bro
Thundercats - > Jump out of seat popoff is the best combo
I just realized Zain even did that after game 2 because I was too busy doing that in real life after seeing him hit it in that tense tense TENSE situation
So much commentary bias
lol of course, anyone would rather cheer for zain than hbox
I'd say I'm more of an hbox fan than most, but zain is my fucking jam. Marth is the sickest character in this game and zain's marth is so fucking sexy. I've been rooting for this boy since before he bopped leffen all that time ago.
@@ynsmdd8678 Nah, I go for hbox after I found how much the Melee community is such a pathetic bitch to him. And Marth is a generic anime dickhead.
Damn, wanted hbox in winners finals
The Sing at 1:46 was great
To be honest, I really don't understand how Hbox is able to even take a game from Zain considering that the way Zain plays his marth makes it look like it's near impossible for puff to even get in.
because shes nearly impossible to kill with marth on dreamland
Yeah I mean it's definitely hard to get in on puff too. Zain is just both insanely patient and crazy technical. I think Hbox plays smarter and has better mixups, but honestly Zain has labbed and studied this matchup much more than Hbox has recently.
Think about it. Zain only really has to worry about Hbox and Mang0, while Hbox definitely needs to watch out for many upcoming players not even to talk about Mang0 and Leffen! Hbox is under a lot of pressure rn and I bet he won't be #1 anymore by the end of the year!
Being #1 is twice as hard as being #2, because everyone is hunting you.
@@chandlermccoy1813 Nah bro. Zain hasn't taken a single set off of Axe last year so if he really wants to prove that he is the best melee player, he also needs to prove that he can beat Axe consistently along with the other top competitors like Hbox, Mang0, and Leffen. Also, I can't predict the future but Hbox is a really hard worker and he has said that he plans to continue being the #1 player so I wouldn't count him out just yet.
@@unkyonwn Oh no I never said Zain was going to be the best, I just said Hbox wasn't. I was making the case that the longer someone is #1, the more danger they are of losing it. Everyone has several of their rivals that they watch out for, but because Hbox is currently ranked #1 he needs to watch out for everyone much more than anyone else. There isn't a single person who isn't striving as hard as they can to take him down specifically. That's why I said it's so much harder to be #1 than #2.
HOWEVER.
I definitely disagree with what you said about what Zain needs to do to be #1. He doesn't need to be Axe consistently. If Zain started beating Hbox and Mang0 consistently but still couldn't beat Axe, Zain could still very well be ranked #1. Axe doesn't have the ranking to be the sole person holding down Zain's. Axe still loses to Hbox, Leffen, and Mango almost every time, and definitely struggles against the other top 10. It also isn't unheard of by any means for him to get knocked out of pools or top 64.
Idk if Zain would be #1 this year, but we are definitely seeing Hbox lose more and more and start to do much worse agaisnt people he obliterated a year ago.
@@chandlermccoy1813 Sorry but I gotta disagree. If you wanted to be the undisputed best player, you shouldn't have a so-called "bracket demon" meaning that you shouldn't have to rely on bracket luck to win. That's why I never really saw Wizzrobe or Axe ever being the best players despite their phenomenal performances in the summer of last year because neither one of them were able to prove that they could overcome their demons (Mang0 and Hbox). Mang0, Armada, and Hbox were all able to achieve rank 1 because they were all able to prove that they can destroy everyone regardless of who they were going up against.
Also, I feel like you're low-key underestimating Hbox here. He literally only had 3 losses outside of the top 10 last year (if you count iBDW as being outside top 10) and he has also proven that he can come back and destroy all 3 of them. I can definitely agree that the level of competition has gotten up but there is no doubt that Hbox has been the only player to have the consistency to win the majority of the tournaments besides Armada and 2013/2014 Mang0.
Yeetbox
first dreamland fight, hella dum
hbox not lookin hungry
god this tournament needed slippi, this interlaced shit is not great
HBox is my Dad.
Zain camped HBox so hard those first games
Chill with those hands kid, you're playing Puff KEK
Few things in Melee give me more joy than an Hbox loss. So glad it was Zain who delivered it, because he definitely deserves it.
*MOGUL MOVES*
