Mike Peace Woodturning I know Mike..years ago I had a friend who had logs of desert iron wood..it’s in the horn beam family...so very hard it smokes tools.. but drilled a hole Thur them so the nut end of a harden 1/4 volt could go thru.. then into a small 3 jar chuck.. killer knobs.. filled the void with cut plugs ebony..the Nigerian type..black..thanks I have no channel but turned wood for over 40-45 years..keep the videos coming bro..thx.. There are some really kool small 3 jaw chucks out there in flea markets that were made for tool and die..like metal working..I found a few..very rusted..with Morris #2 taper..the fit nicely in to larger 3 fat chucks and allow..precise work for knobs..it’s all fun like mike shows us..great videos.. thx

Thanks for going into the detail about the mounting options. I don't yet have a chuck for my lathe and want to make small parts such as chess pieces.
Wood Frontier Learning to turn without a chuck will make you a better turner. You will appreciate a chuck even more when you get one.
