This is the first time I've ever heard of them... But this sums up Australia for me. A country full of so many weird and wonderful critters you won't find anywhere else in the world. Absolutely incredible place 🇦🇺
Nick! You're back! I'm so glad! You really had me worried. I was afraid maybe you had COVID. I will watch anything you put out, but most especially if it's koalas! I've become a very passionate koala advocate since last we spoke, and I am fighting hard right alongside you lot to help save them. I've adopted three koalas, two wild ones, and one in care at FOK. I've been pleading with friends and family here in the US to at least donate $10AUD, because that will get a tree. One tree can help so many koalas. I don't want them to go extinct. It is so good to see you again, and I hope you are doing as well, as possible. Take care!
@@WickedWildlife I'm glad of it! You're a cool guy, Nick. I might be 53, but I've always more to learn, so keep on teaching me! Funny thing - my licence says I'm 53, but I look 28! I won the genetic lottery in a big way, lol! I'm of half Irish, half German descent, so I'm as pale as they come. Suffice it to say, the sun is NOT my friend! But is also means I haven't a wrinkle to speak of, which is why I look half my age! It's quite lovely, really, especially when you're a sheila, which I am!😁
Welcome back, Nick! And, thanks for another great video. :) I've heard of pink tongued skinks before but didn't know anything about them. The shot where were got to see the skink moving through the leaf litter was especially neat--never saw a skink moving like that/just dragging its back legs before. Also, wow but do I wish I'd gone to a school like that. It sounds amazing!
It’s so good to have you back Nick! We were really starting to get worried, I really hope everything is well and you’ve been hanging in. Pink-tongued Skinks are really interesting little animals, definitely some of the most under-appreciated of the Aussie lizards. I’m keen for more content from you, and I hope you’re getting back to normal over there! If you ever need anything at all, Evan and I are just a few clicks away. Welcome back mate! - Harrison and Evan
Thanks guys, happy to get a video out Will be a long road back to normal though as we where forced to rehome a fair few animals with the sudden loss of income But we will rebuild when we can
Great video. Love our pink tongue skink. Such an underrated species. So easy to handle and interesting to watch move about their enclosure. Thanks for giving us first hand information on their natural behaviors and wild diet. 🦎👍
@@BushTrackWildlife I’m headed up that way in May and would love to do abit of herping but not sure if it’d be too cold Here the seasons well and truely over by then
I know! Thanks for being patient but during Covid I had to take on extra work to keep everyone here fed since travel was banned couldn’t do much filming But I have a fair few videos saved up now to come out over the next few months!
I’m thinking to do a breeding project with pink tongued skinks as they produce live young. What is the best way to sex them and breed them ? And is breeding them challenging or is it easy compared to other reptiles. Thanks

We are certainly pretty spoilt when it comes to biodiversity, now we just need to learn to appreciate and conserve it

They certainly have a very snake like motion
You could see how some of the smaller skinks are evolving to loose their legs over time
Been awhile nick!
Last night seen 2 pink tongues and even a blue tongue which I’ve never seen at night
