Rob, Chris, I appreciate that it's not to everyone's taste, however the mix of content which you are now publishing is incredibly insightful and informative. Good to see you've passed through 148k subscribers too! Here's to 150k and beyond.
Rob & Chris that was just the sort of content I love to watch, a little bit detailed with explanations, showing the hard work that goes in and then the result! This is why the content you are producing will be the future of Car/Vehicle viewing for me and I think a lot of other people, I get this up on my TV and its way better than Top Gear etc!
The clowns I work for are always telling me about book time for doing a job. . This video shows just how much work is involved in a clutch . One cross threaded bolt can throw a real spanner in the works . I much prefer your work style to dealer life . Time I was retired so I can just watch you lot .
The clutch plate assembly is much bigger than I thought, great job guys that was one cramped engine bay area, once again working together like a synchronized tag team, you got the job done ✅.
Good job chaps. I, too, am not a lover of clutch replacements. They always seem so fiddly on modern cars. Now changing one on a Morris Marina or Hillman Hunter, no problem.
Another Great video chaps and how lucky you are to be able to work in sync with each other knowing the job is done right. In 40 years of had a few guys and it makes for good working days and the banter :)
well done lads, took me and me mate all day to do a clutch on my car too, not easy, even with a lift, mind you, kevin williams makes it look easy, doing them on the floor, great video lads.
Great video again, got caught a few years ago with the wife’s Toyota avensis, clutch went, new clutch in, no engagement, turned out the cars assembled in Japan were different than those assembled in uk, even though same year/engine. Clutch was 3 mil different, but you could only tell when in and bolted down, with a vernier, otherwise on the bench they were identical, 3 times that gearbox came out and went in, will never forget it 😀😀🇮🇪
Well done boys 👍 Looked like a tough day 😅 Should be a nice little bunsen when its finished though. From the little I saw it looked like it drives well enough and will scrub 🧽 up lovely 💎 Thanks again for all your efforts I know I speak for nearly all the folk on here when I say that we really appreciate all your hard work - really helps in the times we’re in at the moment 😷 🌍 Warmest wishes from South Wales 🏴 - Jonathan 😊 👍
I remember watching a mechanic putting in a gearbox after a clutch change and it was a pig to get in and he ended up with the gearbox lying on his chest as he had difficulty getting it to go back in and I said why don’t you use the jack to help but he said that this was the way he always did it and he was going to do it his way, now I know why most of the mechanics I know are barrel chested and forearms like popeye, great post rob looking forward to seeing the next one
Great job, I find it easier to drop the engine & box out as one as they are so tight these days, plus most cars now don't have strong inner wings to use a support bar. I remember the Mk1 astra clutch, you removed a cover off the end of the gearbox and used a slide hammer to slide the imput shaft clear of the clutch, removed the cover from the Bell housing installed 3 clips that held the pressure plate to the clutch plate undo the retaining bolts and the clutch came out the bottom, you could replace the clutch in half an hour. They stopped using this system as the clutches didn't last long, but still a brilliant system
I think the clutch looked pretty good but still needs binning I was watching you slide around on the concrete floor I have pieces of cor flute that I stick on the concrete floor and I slide around on that and It’s keeps you off that cold floor and it makes it easy to slide in and out from under the car Good work as usual Saved another one 👍👍😍😍
You should do a side-by-side comparison with your Combo to show how far these small vans have come on in such a short time. Can't wait until Christmas as I believe Santa has got me that Sealey ratchet :)
what a cracking van for someone, started on the button, that takes me back to trying to do a clutch on the drive and about as much fun !! well done guys another great video
I always check the new drive plate of the clutch by putting it on to the sprigot shaft of the gearbox! I learned this the hard way ! Sweated blood that day lol
You guys make it look easy! You are right about the Sealey Rachet, bought it for hubby for early birthday but I love it 😍 even got a set of 3/8 deep and shallow sockets 😎
Video on a Thursday! After a surprise Tuesday video means you're definitely spoiling us but the more the merrier! Managed to find a great little camera angle for the pressure plate. Hats off! Awesome work lads!
So happy when I seen the notification on a Thursday could wait to get in to watch it loved it lads it must have been hard if you’s had to struggle but none the less a cracking job as usual 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Hi Rob & Chris, great video, informative and nice to see you guys working hard whilst we chill and watch you lol, seriously, your video's are a godsend in these times, look forward to them. Cheers, Alex.
The actual fix on the clutch minutes , the strip down and rebuild a day . I remember doing clutches in the 70s on 1100s , minis etc hour and a half tops 🤣. Great video as usual guys , well earned glass of wine tonight .
Well done gents looks like you've scored with this one, even though it was a bit of pig to do the clutch on this van. Should hopefully be returning you guys a profit soon. Keep up the good work.
When I was wrenching, standard operating procedure for doing anything heavy on the gearbox or engine meant dropping the subframe. Makes access much easier.
Great work Rob. That's driver abuse there probably- sitting at traffic lights with his foot on the clutch, eventually wore out the release bearing, drove it until it shattered.
A great video Rob and Chris that didn't look easy with access so difficult. We have been spoilt this week with the number of videos you have put out! Really appreciate the variety this week.
Phew! that looks a lot easier than a Fiesta 1.6 diesel I once did, what a pig! You lads are lucky, I have to work alone and that can be very testing when it comes to lifting the gearbox back in.
Rob Chris there seems to be no limit to your skill set, you made what looked like a difficult job look relatively straight forward. I was looking forward to this episode and wasn’t disappointed, full marks. Keep up the good work and thanks for the entertainment value👍👍👍 Take Care Stay Safe Everyone Regards Dave 🏴
Chris said the other day thrust bearing , fair play spot on Rob , fly wheel looks good I have skimmed a few of them got a cluch comeing up on my car so enjoying this great content guys
You both work hard , no messing about just get in and get out. I don't miss a video. Keep it up lads.
Rob, Chris, I appreciate that it's not to everyone's taste, however the mix of content which you are now publishing is incredibly insightful and informative. Good to see you've passed through 148k subscribers too! Here's to 150k and beyond.

Book times are what you charged your customers on if a mechanic doesn't meet them it's a loss
The clutch plate assembly is much bigger than I thought, great job guys that was one cramped engine bay area, once again working together like a synchronized tag team, you got the job done ✅.
Interesting video haven’t seen a clutch change from start to finish before.. good job as always.👍
Good job chaps. I, too, am not a lover of clutch replacements. They always seem so fiddly on modern cars. Now changing one on a Morris Marina or Hillman Hunter, no problem.
I admire you guys the way your videos are every bit as good now as they were at the beginning. Thanks so much for your dedication to your channel,
Another Great video chaps and how lucky you are to be able to work in sync with each other knowing the job is done right.

well done lads, took me and me mate all day to do a clutch on my car too, not easy, even with a lift, mind you, kevin williams makes it look easy, doing them on the floor, great video lads.
Doesn’t he just, that mans a machine
To be honest sometimes it’s easier to do it on the floor 👍
Another good job done both of you. Quite a easy fix as a none runner clutch v engine no contest. 👍
I would say that this channel is on the same level as Wheeler Dealers. Very interesting, real English channel. I Like it
Another great job, that did not look easy. Less of of the lets go and more of the get involved. Enjoyable video. 🙂👍

Brilliant job guys, great input, love watching you guys saving cars from the scrap, that is a tidy little van
Great clutch change, for you to say it was awkward, leaves me with a lot of respect to you both..
Rob, that was a great job, mate. You know what? You had to replace the clutch bit it's worth quite a bit more with a new clutch anyway.
Lovely Jubbly, both your faces says it all, a big relief to get it finished too.
You should do a side-by-side comparison with your Combo to show how far these small vans have come on in such a short time. Can't wait until Christmas as I believe Santa has got me that Sealey ratchet :)

Your spoiling us this week 😍
Old skool garage at its best , nothing you or Chris can't achieve 💯🏴🎅
Rob, you better get shot of that little combo sharpish cause if the missus see's it, upgrade. Sweet as a nut that, great call.
You boys are the real deal.....love it! Imagine the labour costs taking that to the main dealer ££.
