I realize it's nothing but nostalgia, but I get such an overwhelming feeling when I listen to these tracks. Like an oasis of peace. This game has stuck with me for so many years.
Nobuo Uematsu is my all time favorite composer. His work is so fucking touching. So subtle, yet so masterfully powerful. Excellent work remastering and remixing. I listen all the time!
Actually to be honest all the people commenting about it have a point. The chimes could have been just a tad bit louder. At this volume it sounds a bit more like background noise. If you needed to you could try using a slightly different instrument altogether if you want a bit of a softer sound to it (if such a digital instrument exists, I'm no composer myself).
Indeed. I linked this video to a few of my friends too, and they said there wasn't a problem. I have no idea why, this shouldn't happen either. How strange...
It can't be. I have a $190 pair of gaming headphones with a $75 dedicated sound card. No other videos have this problem, it's just this one. I kinda doubt it's a problem on my end...
This song (i'm reffering to the original, but this one's nice too) is literally the best FF7 song, no, the best final fantasy song, no, best instrumental song EVER. I start crying everytime it starts. And I have YET to hear a remix of this song that doesn't sound good.
It's very beautiful though some of the instruments were a bit too soft in my opinion. Like the chimes at 0:43. I always felt they gave the piece the strength. But maybe that's just me.
I'm listening in 1080p. I've tried 720p and lower as well. I don't know what it is, it's just this one singular video. Every other one of your videos is fine...
Victor Remus If you have the Steam Version, just put the music into this folder and delete the originals : C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\FINAL FANTASY VII\data\music_ogg Of course, you have to rename all the songs. I´d do it, but I haven´t the time
I want to go on the record stating that this sounds like arse. The original had a soft, soothing tone and a beautifull melody. It was simple and elegant in what it was trying to convey. The overload of instruments has such a heavy strain on the melody itself, it's hard to listen to anymore and makes the song feel mediocre at best. The part with the whole orchestra bashing it's sounds together sounds more like a fight between the musicians trying to win a battle to descide which is the more suitable instrument to play the song. You cannot mash together all the pretty sounding instruments to make something that holds it's own better. This is not remastered. It's overmastered to a broken degree. You cannot orchestra a lullaby the same way you cannot nuke ants. Because it's far too powerfull a force to make it sound soft. It's bad and if this would be the original, then the other version would be the real remastered version.

agreed
That oasis must be filled with tears otherwise it's not true and pure nostalgia.
;_;
Ian Escobar I wouldn't say "nothing but nostalgia" :) I've heard lots of VGM from games I've never even played and have had the same feeling.
It ain't nostalgia man. I played FF7 for the first time a few months ago. This is indeed beautiful.
Must...resist...yet another...playthrough
This soundtrack always remind me of those baby birds in the nest. ;)
In Japan, The theme is called Dear To The Heart.

This makes my soul shiver. Thank you.

so far the best version i've heared of this song.thx for uploading!
I'm speechless.
Wow. That's really all I can say. This song Wowed me.
Wonderful work as always my friend!

I'm not hearing any problems with the audio either, it must be your setup dude.
Now you have to put it back up to compare!

Yes, I saw in your other video you stated them. Sorry for the repeat question!
I assume you still use Finale to write the music?

I think there is still the old versions in the download link in the description.

I agree with the sentiment that the chimes should be louder. Apart from that though good job.
Gawwwwwgeous
If I had time, I'd figure out a way to implement your songs into another play-through of this amazing game.

I'm sorry but this is really good
Sometimes I get reminded of Mario Galaxy after hearing this.
Do you mind sharing the name of your new software?
It's well done, but the audio quality is horrific especially at the start. There's static all through the beginning. =\
Where do you get those tunes?
I think I liked your older version better, why'd you have to delete it :(
I think the bells are way too soft. Pretty sweet otherwise.
Now they just need to remaster the game

Crap... Original is so much better.
Thanks so much for the very informative and constructive critique!
Also this is 10 years old. Check out my newer stuff for better quality
Sephiroth and Jenova dislike this

shit compared to the original!! don't try to fix what is not broken!!
Cool story, bro
I'm sorry, but what exactly is he "fixing"? It's not like he's getting rid of the old version. He is just making a modern remix.
no one cares
boznians I agree. Original had this pause after opening part, that was always making my heart skip a bit. In this version this pause is not present
