I know what you mean people do blow up the story, and at the same time, its alot to get into, if your unprepared, and don't know what your getting into. Just take the story one game at a time. Play it over the course of at least two weeks for the longer ones, About a world per day should do, read your journal entry's, and go down the list in order in the 1.5+2.5 remix. Take a few days to digest each game after its completion, try to 100% (getting the secret ending usually is enough), than continue onto the next one. Should you need a refresher, go back and watch the theater mode to recap, and relook at journal entry's. If you feel like your missing something or you want more details, often its explained in later games, so write the question you have down on a notepad or something, and come back to it later. you're missing the point of my comment. I feel like in some of these cases, the story does not warrant a full game. The fact that there are so many games and each of them have just a little bit of story is very offputting. Oh, and chi isn't on the ps4, better go trudge through 500+ missions on a shitty mobile game just to know the full story!
I got what you mean, just saying that they at least condensed the story by compiling everything together for one console. A major issue of the series was the array of consoles you had to buy to understand everything.
I swear Nomura gets off on making this series more complicated than it needs to be. And Ven is here now...FUCK IT. I will forever refuse to play Unchained X.
I'm so happy you pointed out the similarities between this game and Puzzle and Dragons. As an addict to both and knowing you played both it made me smile.
The Disney worlds being illusions in chi was just so the Disney characters/worlds could be in the game despite it taking place over hundred of years ago. The gameplay for Unchained WAS fun for a while but it's still just a copy paste from other bad mobile games which isn't great for Square Enix. As for Ventus being in the story, I feel this may have been the intention since KH chi was first made. The story just got interesting in my opinion.
By the way. Back Cover is very simple to understand, because it is the most self contained Kingdom Hearts story since KH1. All you need is a cursory knowledge of the setring of Chi and you're good to go.
I mean, yea, when Kh Cross was announced, I was intrigued but at the same time I was like "Oh COME on." They still have yet to expound on the keyblade war (which should have been in Back Cover in glorious HD) or kingdom hearts, or the X-blade. So many questions left unanswered.. What were the foretellers arguing about right before the war? How exactly did kingdom hearts appear in the war? Did Gula manage to summon it? For a series with "Chi" in its name, you would think the X-blade would appear. Where was the X-blade in all this? Why did maleficent mention Sora? Is the player in the future now? Is the player in the realm of sleep? And now, how the fug is VENTUS there?? This is quite literally a train wreck.
Let's not forget that the player character of X goes to fight in the war instead of joining the Dandelions because... whatever dude it's inevitable, muh prophecy. The war just fucking happens; it doesn't happen for any real reason, there's no actual conflict, it just happens.
There have been theories that X and unchained X are all data simulations of the events of the Book of Prophecies kinda like the Datascape of Jimmy's journal or Twilight Town which is why there's older Hercules, Donald and Goofy from KH1, FUCKING VENTUS, dream eaters, and emblem heartless. I don't like it, but it's the only explanation that makes sense. It worries me to no end that Nomura said that KH3 will borrow heavily from lore created in KHUx, but it's taken away a decade from me and there's no going back now. So there's no getting off Tetsuya's Wild Ride. At least the combat is fun.
Man, people are way to quick to claim that something "makes no sense". I watched a translated video of basically the very end of KH Chi like six months ago and Back Cover made total sense, it's extremely easy to understand what's going on with even the most basic of background information.
i felt the same, i didn't feel the need to play unchained X or to have played X after watching back cover because to me a lot of things just sort of clicked into place especially since a lot of the back cover stuff happens during what seems like the events of KHx/Ux. idk to me the only thing i was disappointed by was that they didn't have an animation of the Keyblade War which i've wanted to see for so long :(
I know this is super late, and this is the wrong vid, but I just found these vids and this channel. In reference to Sora and Mickey's Keyblades, and Keyblades in general:/ Keyblades can be created, as stated before, and they're weapons used to defeat heartless and other foes, yadda yadda. Sora and Mickey's blades, the keyblades of Light and Dark, respectively, are like "legendary" weapons (think Master Sword) which have the unique ability to close the door leading to Kingdom Hearts (ANY KH too). They were created by the light/dark sides of the universe, as was mentioned in the PCP University vid, in order to stop Ansem SOD from royally screwing up everyone's shit. As for Mickey being able to just open the door and take the blade, it's possible that the door is controlled by the dark and allowed Mickey to go in and take it because he was the one chosen to wield it. At least that's my theory.
Best Guy's relationship with Kingdom Hearts is honestly very abusive and disturbing, he's like a battered house wife who holds onto the happy memories he had with his husband hoping things will go back to how they were before
I have no patience for bad mobile games. I made it to around mission 100 of unchained before I asked myself what I was doing with my life, and it was only the KH brand and the promise of story that got me that far. As it turns out, watching someone's summary of it on youtube is much easier and less painful! Thanks for the video!
IT's pretty impressive how much effort you put into know the KH lore. What other series do you put similar effort into for the lore? Or is this one just that special?
There seem to be a huge missconception that Union X is a new mobile game. It is not, it's an expansion to Unchained X. Thin of it like a MMO expansion. Nomura said to think of it as a season 2. It still is a pachinko machine thou. Still imo not as bad as you make it look to be. When you wanna stay full f2p, just watch smellyoctopus' videos on UX to make this game a fun expierience.
All one needs to know about Back Cover is that Master of Masters is a HUGE troll who basically FORCES the Foretellers to engage in the Keyblade War by putting them all into roles that would inevitably conflict with each other. Also, he shoved his eye into a Keyblade, gave it to some guy named Luxu, then had him drag a mystery box through a desert (alone and without a Book of Prophecies) that may or may not contain the REAL Kingdom Hearts (that last bit is actually just a theory of mine, but it honestly seems like something Nomura would do at this point).
I can't wait to port the old kingdom hearts games and play the OGs that are important as I watch you explain all the little ones so I don't have to slog through hell while getting more of your great content.
Can you please so a part 2 now :) or a short video on the new trailer that has the release date and frozen world and talk about how aqau now has the yellow eyes and is all dark from being the in the darkness pleeeeeease
ansem/xehanort created the Emblem heartless however pure/true heartless come from the world of darkness examples of these are shadows, neo shadows and darkside whereas emblem heartless are like the nocturns the soldier heartless and such.
I used to play this game for at least nine months after it's first release and after that I couldn't keep up in high score challenges since it was all pay to win. I found it fun but since the game was so much pay to win I couldn't keep playing as all forms of fun and progression kept shrinking do to the power to get through it is money blocked.
Having not played KHUX the story of backcover wasn't confusing at all. It seems to me that the difference is that Unchained is from the perspective of a lower ranked keyblade wielder and back cover is from the perspective of the Fore-tellers.
I don't get it, you say that Kingdom Hearts Chi doesn't exist anymore, but isn't it coming in 2.8 alongside Chains and the movie? In that case, how can it not exist if you can buy it on the PS4 and 2.8 is fairly recent?
Eduardo Flores he explained how the original KH X was actually a pc browser game only made in Japan with important lore that doesn't exist anymore(lol ok). What we got in 2.8 was Back Cover, which apparently only explains what happens AFTER KH X
I've been playing it since release and never played for anything at all. I'd say if you want to play 100% free You'd need some really lucky pulls to get through the 500+ story missions. Not impossible though.
your opinion on the insanity of how kh x has been released and contributes to to story i can agree with. though i do genuinely enjoy kh unchained x/union cross as a game and if you work hard enough(i mean really freaking hard)you can actually do pretty good in ranking without paying money
Fuck. I wanted you to talk about that Back Cover shit xD Now you got ME by the balls with whether or not you're making that video haha Good video, and... damn, what you do for these games. A year in that mobile cowshit game?
this franchise is the equivalent of adding a lot of water to milk and drinking it. you think: "this tastes like ass! it isn't good anymore it fucking sucks". but it's got a nice bit of chocolate in it and you end up drinking just for it anyway...
Nomura finally broke him and I could tell the same thing after watching back cover and it kind of broke me two micro transactions filled cash grabs is where I draw the line
nothing against the game itself, never thought i would actually play a mobile game with a good sountrack and pretty neat aesthetic, but at the end of the day it's still a mobile game so my care will always go down as time goes on :)
i watched kh X without playing the mobile or pc games and not only did I understand almost everything, but also knew most of what mobile kh X has to say (until quest 555 or something). why does he keep saying it's not a summary or that it doesn't make sense on it's own? did i miss something?
Ali Haider the only thing in Back Cover that is shown in Unchained by mission 555 (if I remember correctly, and I have played up to 560) is Ava's conversation with Ephemer at the fountain and the Dandelion speech cutscene. Pretty much everything else that does appear in Back Cover is stuff we haven't seen in the English release of X(chi) (as of 560) and may not see due the stories being told from different perspectives.
The one thing I want to understand is how/why people care about the characters in X. Like, *emotionally*. I can understand caring from a lore junkie perspective, but that doesn't explain all the fanart and animatics. Like seriously, wtf. And people actually care about the brats that die in the Keyblade war? I can't even fathom it without tons of projection.
Nice seeing you around in comments every once in a while lmao, but yeah seriously I couldn't tell you one personality trait of any of these characters aside from Master of Masters and maybe Strelitzia? The rest of these guys are so... nothing
@@RadinV1 Hey, glad to see you among the living! And that sounds about right. I'm guessing it's the typical situation of familiarity/multiplayer working to create the attachment rather than anything else. Not that I heard good things about the multiplayer either...
@@laststrike4411 another thing is that typically in games or shows that are super long running, the audience ends up forming attachments to characters anyway despite no writing really supporting it, this is kinda the case with a lot of RPGs. In this case for people who waited weekly for these story updates to drop, they would have spent years following the characters of X so liking them despite there being nothing to them is just a natural byproduct of spending so much time engaging with the story. I didn't follow the story of the phone games (frankly, I don't care) so I wouldn't know, but that's the best answer I can find to your question.

I used to play this game for at least nine months after it's first release and after that I couldn't keep up in high score challenges since it was all pay to win. I found it fun but since the game was so much pay to win I couldn't keep playing as all forms of fun and progression kept shrinking do to the power to get through it is money blocked.
Best Guy is Best Grill
plot twist every app game is like play to win
the more you know
xXShadow_ImageXx thats true, so its pointless to make that a point when its a given already
8:48 - 8:58 Best part, I laughed way too hard at that.
From what I hear the Japanese version of the game isn't as hard, but the American branch made it harder for more money.
That naming, you're a fucking genius XD
*Also pls finish the series*
Shoutout to the Vulpes!
now that ux and dark road are done, you are obligated to finish >:(
I've been playing it since release and never played for anything at all.
I'd say if you want to play 100% free You'd need some really lucky pulls to get through the 500+ story missions. Not impossible though.
paid* my bad...
I have absolutely no idea how you do it Guy, I just suppose you're the insane one of the Saint brothers. I hope one day to join this insanity.
your opinion on the insanity of how kh x has been released and contributes to to story i can agree with.
though i do genuinely enjoy kh unchained x/union cross as a game and if you work hard enough(i mean really freaking hard)you can actually do pretty good in ranking without paying money
I'm honestly still waiting for the next State of the Union. I know it's painful. I know it's stupid. But you know it must be done.
ok ready for the next part. p.s. now do a kh3 video?
Fuck. I wanted you to talk about that Back Cover shit xD Now you got ME by the balls with whether or not you're making that video haha
Good video, and... damn, what you do for these games. A year in that mobile cowshit game?
gravitys rainbow
this franchise is the equivalent of adding a lot of water to milk and drinking it.
you think: "this tastes like ass! it isn't good anymore it fucking sucks". but it's got a nice bit of chocolate in it and you end up drinking just for it anyway...
I'm more confused than a chameleon in a bag of skittles, LMAO why IS Ventus their?????
Nomura finally broke him and I could tell the same thing after watching back cover and it kind of broke me two micro transactions filled cash grabs is where I draw the line
Where is Mickey Mouse?
RisingBob hes around jumping from world to world solving thenheartless crisis
you should make moar vidyas. They're really good.
In JP, the story only goes to mission 670, not much story add in tho
So um.... why are there heartless in the distant past?
nothing against the game itself, never thought i would actually play a mobile game with a good sountrack and pretty neat aesthetic, but at the end of the day it's still a mobile game so my care will always go down as time goes on :)
Note: 4 different Entities.
KH X (pc)
KH *Unchained X*
KH *Union Cross*
KHX Back cover
They should never put canon lore in Mobile games
Wait, I'm lost. At what point do they start fighting in the parking lot?
So, UnionX is finished. Where's the new video about it?
i watched kh X without playing the mobile or pc games and not only did I understand almost everything, but also knew most of what mobile kh X has to say (until quest 555 or something).
why does he keep saying it's not a summary or that it doesn't make sense on it's own?
did i miss something?
Ali Haider the only thing in Back Cover that is shown in Unchained by mission 555 (if I remember correctly, and I have played up to 560) is Ava's conversation with Ephemer at the fountain and the Dandelion speech cutscene. Pretty much everything else that does appear in Back Cover is stuff we haven't seen in the English release of X(chi) (as of 560) and may not see due the stories being told from different perspectives.
well then I guess I don't know what I missed, and frankly, I don't care anymore. I felt betrayed after playing kh 3d and 0.2.
The only thing worthy of my attention is best boy Master of Masters or MoM as the kids call him.
give us part 2
Hey check out khinsider on youtube, they had all the KHChi cutscenes translated; since khux will skip all of that.
: lux is the key, look where it comes from.
never expected to find you here! :)
congrats on kairi ex!
Thats pretty much it, its ALL projection, people desperately wanting to see themselves as or interacting with these characters
My roommate was a frog kid ever seen a frog kid
I'm that guy. I'm the guy who made all the accounts that knows more about Kingdom Hearts than you.
So you just never felt like it?
Wow! I guess she really is the CUTEST gal
