After writing my image file to sd card i get a popup message of formatting usb drive ? Do you too get this same type of popup?

I wanna ask, is the procedure same for Raspbian STRETCH and Raspbian JESSY? cuz on the website Raspbian Stretch with desktop is available rather raspbian JESSY..
Yes, Raspbian Stretch is just the latest version of the software. The Stretch moniker comes from the fact that it is based on the latest version of Debian which has been named Debian Stretch.
when in unzip it with 7zip. there is no .img file
Can you use the micro sd card for other purposes also? I.E using it as an external storage for android phone also. I know this is old, but hopefully you can answer my question also lol
No you can't it will partition it and the Linux file system is different than the Android one. Sorry wish could have helped sooner

I’m having a problem when ever I try to write the disk on the SD card it. Just says file corrupted and won’t work help?
Redthunderspartan Sone times the windows unzipped will make that happen try using 7zip instead if that’s not what it is soz
can i have Retropie and Raspbian on my Raspberri Pi at the same time. Surely one would erase the other when burning the image?
No you can not. You could run a dual boot setup though.

i JUST got a raspberry zero. i thought it came with os (it didn't lol0 so i plugged it into my tv and NOTHING. i thought something was wrong as i did not see any lights or anything. turns out i just need to add my own os. can anyone help me figure out how to do so? i want raspbian pixel i think.

after i put it in my pi and boot it displays lots of text but then it just stays like a terminal and i get no option to install
It could be running headless. Type startx in the terminal.

What are examples of Sd cards that can get corrupted using win32 disk imager? And how do you know if your sd wont get corrupted?

Preloaded cards typically contain outdated software.
Because there are some idiots (like me) who went and bought a 32gb sd card before finding out that preloaded sd cards exist.
