Thank you soo much for using proper terminology in regards to the partings and sections. I have seen soo many tutorials on youtube where they are not using the proper terminology.

I appreciated your comment of the bulk in the occipital area. I would have loved to have seen the finished style. Thank you

Thank you Andrew! I combined this with what you taught me with the Simplifying Men’s Haircutting video using the InvisiBlend shear. Amazing results.

Most hairdressers I've come across have no idea how to actually deal with dense hair, let alone how to properly use a razor. I've been to at LEAST a dozen and 99% wouldn't even touch a razor. Their main tactic to get rid of bulk is to add a crap load of layers, which doesn't always work on everyone. The only one I knew that could do a razor cut was this older guy from Europe. But he moved away years ago.

Jessica Postopoly I found with dense hair- it’s best to stay away from razors as they make your ends frizzy and eventually will add bulk back once it grows out. You need to texture dense hair slightly (to add a little movement). If you go in slicing and dicing- you add fuel to the fire. And end up with a mullet of layers.

What about when that grows in? Wouldn't it seem to the client like the root area is super thick, compared too the ends? Then they would ask you to thin out "just the roots" which is impossible. Just speaking from experience.

I love this video. I'm not a hair stylist. But, watching this makes me want to! Do you think it would be rude to ask a hair stylist, one that I don't know, about using a 9 gap razor? I'm not even sure if ALL stylists know about it, as some are getting experience. I have really "dense" hair. My front sections are too thin, and my back sections are thick, heavy and wavy. I can't get any of that wave in my front sections. My hair is grown out from an inverted bob. So, the front layers are much longer than my back layers. I didn't like the inverted bob. It doesn't work for my face. I need more fringe on my face or else I look drab.

no need for a razor. channel cutting. if you have mega dense hair that sits in a blob on your head (I do) it is the answer to your hopes.

I would try telling your hairstylist that you want your hair texturized and thinned out. They should know what to do after that. And ask them to use a razor if you want.

As a cosmetologist..you never ever texturize hair close to the base unless you are trying to create volume. That's a big no no!

I hope you do have BIG EARS ... Help please, WIGS are becoming more popular weather it's just for fashion or medical purpose or even to give your natural hair a break. I have search for real professional help but its very limited especially for open cap wigs ( wefted tracks of hair) not everyone can afford a full handtied wig , handtied are easier to cut. I would like to request if possible cut trim for wigs synthetic and human hair and also human hair blend please
