Simon McBride is one of the best guitar players these days he has the fiery passion of Gary Moore and the tasteful phrasing of Steve Lukather and Joe Satriani yet there is something that is entirely his own !
He’s the right guitarist for Deep Purple to end with. Plays the Blackmore stuff like Blackmore but with his own style evident as well. Fantastic guitar player
Whenever i mention Deep Purple in the last couple of years, people say "Oh are they still going?" Some people have missed out on some of the greatest music of the last 30 years. Sorry that Steve is having some family issues, and i hope it all turns out great. Sorry to see him go. After seeing Simon for about 10 minutes, i'll keep on being a fan. Steve was very melodic in his playing, Simon seems a bit more raw, in the style of Ritchie. I look forward to what is to come.
Big respect to both Steve and Simon. Sad to see Steve go but is Simon's turn and he's more than holding his own. I look forward to what's next for Steve and wish he and family well. Purple is a legend!
How tf is it luck? They knew Steve was leaving so they found the best guitar player they could. That's common sense, not luck. He's also played in The Don Airey Band so they would have already known how good he is,
Ritchie, Come Back !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Steve is brilliant , Simon is also brilliant .. they are HUGE .. all in all 90% of the set are songs from Ritchie Blackmore era .. awesome guitarist and COMPOSER !
I'm hoping they make a new album with Simon and it's a bit more of a straightforward rock album as opposed to the prog-rock style they have adopted recently.
Simon is good, but Steve is missed, on songs like perfect strangers, pictures of home, the songs are empty without their arrangements, and purple is starting to look like an old-sounding cover band, I hope I'm not misunderstood . Cheers.!
it's so sad that after Ritchie blackmore's departure, DP's songs has been going downhill.... they are struggling to find the perfect fit.... but blackmore is irreplaceable...
They replaced Ritchie with Steve Morse around 27 years ago. Steve was the longest serving guitarist with the band. That longevity is all the success that Deep Purple needed. Their audiences were shrinking under Ritchie's dark grip, but grew exponentially under Steve's expertise & open friendliness. The sun came out & shone down on the band & all the fans!. I love both Ritchie & Steve's versions of the band. They rocked my world. Deep Purple continue to rock my world. Bring it on. Simon McBride? Yeah, why not!. 💜🎸☮️
@@blackwoodrichmore4531 Ritchie was a guitarist looking for a band to make him sound good, (and don't get me wrong, he was brilliant,) Steve was a team player, also brilliant and for 27 years, apart from the unfortunate death of John, the Lord of the Hammond, Lord, there have been no lineup changes. What does that say?

Exactly. The Irish aggression! Stops it getting too 'guitar hero technical' and brings playing your arse off in a smokey 1970s bar up to stadium scale
I don't agreed! There are thousends of better guitar-players out there!
Not as good as Rory Gallagher

Simon McBride is an awesome guitar player!. 💜
Absolutely!
Jesus man you are correct......This guy can play!!!
Simon Mcbride is something else
Shades of Gary Moore , the feel and vibrato are so similar and yet he can dip into so many other styles including Blackmore.. truly amazing 🔥❤️

I remember seeing Simon in a few bars back in Belfast with his old band was always great
Simon’s another Irish great as Gary & Rory 🎼👌

Absolutely brilliant Simon.

Хотелось бы чтобы Саймон остался в группе навсегда

And this becomes a cover IG PRIVATE band with 90 percent mk 2 old songs.
Time to retire
Simon is breath of fresh air to Purple same as Morse was but with Morse they became repetitive So lets hope the Purple Machine doesn't go the same way
I'm hoping they make a new album with Simon and it's a bit more of a straightforward rock album as opposed to the prog-rock style they have adopted recently.
Come back Steve!
Ye, that‘s what we want (Most of us )😎🤘

No longer, at least for awhile, he's quit for his cancer-ridden wife which is a respectable act.
unfortunately steve will not come back. it's over after nearly 28 years. sad but true! best wishes to his wife!
Stay ,Mr. Bride ! ⭐⭐⭐
