Nothing better to see than a young man spending time with his dad doing something they both love. Houston’s smile is contagious. Love how he said “This one is for you Papa Phil”. Brought a tear or 2 to my eyes. Absolutely love how you and DeJay are instilling such awesome values in your kids. The world needs more parents like you. Love to all❤️

When I was young, I asked my dad to take me fishing. He said, Sure, but you’ll have to bait your own hooks.” I said, “No problem.” He responded: “That was supposed to discourage you.”
I think that was the most honest conversation I ever had with my father. Needless to say, we never went fishing.
The only things we ever did together were paying the bills, he’d have me write out the checks for him to sign, and cooking meatloaf, where he’d make me mix the ingredients with my bare hands. It would take forever to wash that gross, greasy feeling off my hands.
He was much more interested in sports, a love he shared with my brother.

Great catch Houston. That made me smile. I grew up going fishing with my dad till he died at 87. I made the slideshow for his memorial service and put the song, " She thinks we're just fishin" for the background music. Caught a 12 1/2lb. brooder trout in a local lake they plant a couple months later. Looked toward heaven and said, " Thanks for teaching me to fish Dad." I had a small stroke 17 months ago and evidently a heart attack I never knew I had according to it's weakened state, and all their tests, so haven't been fishing since. I thoroughly enjoy your fishing videos, but would like some to eat.😀😁

I just love how much fun you have cutting stuff up with all your equipment and digging it up, etc. please don’t run out of trees on your property, but then what are you going to do do you know those people whose property does not look as nice as yours, or some of them on the other side of the street, maybe you could once a month do a charity act for somebody with an overgrown yard, and go play with your equipment over there you would have fun and you would be doing someone to kindness at the same time
