@@MichaelPaleyAU Mr Paley, thank you very much for this video. I think its genius! I am a novice who had access to a woodworking shop 40 (ack!) years ago. I would like to make this but I didn't see a list of materials. Did I miss it? I'd like to start a small business making dog houses with some nice details. Thanks for any help you can offer. Yours Truly, Maria
My late Father was so meticulous when he built anything. (A whitesmith by trade), this was like watching him doing something. Thank you for an enjoyable time.
Congratulations. The best idea I've seen on RUclips for hobbyists.. Thanks for sharing this project. I have a request like the other hobbyists.if you could make available the measures of the pieces that were presented in the videos throughout the project. Thank you very much
I like everything except for the circular saw portion. Going to build one just for the router and the jigsaw. Going to add miter tracks, fence and jigsaw blade adapter bearings. I don't like the saw portion because there is no track for a miter gauge or sled. I bought a Dewalt bench top circular saw for the added safety features and the no hassle fence system they use. But good job anyways!!
Excellent project - very clever and practical use of space. As someone with a multi-function garage, also used as a shop, I appreciate anything that conserves what little room there is. I also like the idea of making hand tools more precise, as this is the key to doing good work.
I like your concept for this multifunction table. U might want to consider verticle clamps for mounting - much easier and less time consuming when removing and reinstalling the tool. I built something similar except I designed a t-square beam style fence that clamps using verticle clamps. The system can be setup in my workmate and removed for easy transport. What I like about yours are the magnetic rules and dust collector for your router.
Many good ideas and a great build! Using the aluminum level as router fence and also incorporating dust collection in it is an innovative idea. Making jigsaw insert plate from cutting board material (polycarbonate?) is another great idea since is provides a low-friction support to jigsaw blade and minimizes sideways bending of the blade. Using magnets to slide the steel ruler is one more useful idea. In your design, there is no slot for a miter gauge or a cross cut sled. I don't find a permanent fence for the circular saw either. Are you planning to build them?
Good job Mike you are definitely a good Craftsman but even to those who are not maybe you could speed up maybe even by 25% cuz that's about over an hour that I can't get back in my life LOL great job
Einfach gut dieses Teil. Eine schöne Idee werde ich versuchen nach zu bauen. Dein Kanal ist Klasse muss ich gleich abonnieren und einen Daumen nach oben für dieses Video. Simply good this part. A nice idea I will try to build. Your channel is class I need to subscribe right away and a thumb up for this video.
Hi Michael , Awesome job ,hats off to you, I wish a could make one like this for my project , buy unfortunately I can't due I am living in a flat and nothing much can done to lower the noise . really good work , Thanks pal
+Sammy : I used to live in a flat, and there was a laundry building at the rear of the block of flats, from the old days where people used to boil their clothes in a copper tub heated by burning wood. I talked to my fellow flat dwellers/neighbours and we agreed to turn it into a workshop/store room any of us could use. Maybe if you get friendly with other people, you'll find they like to have a common hobby area also, where they can hang out, tell a few jokes, drink some beer and fix stuff up. Have fun with your neighbours and be popular 😃
Hi Dav ,thanks for your great idea but unfortunately I can,t do that in Singapore , It,s a noise control place plus other strict rules to follow . even the rich who owns a landed property can,t have such hobbies . so it,s sad that no noisy hobbies can be practice here ... thanks pal
+Sammy : Yes Sammy, that is indeed a shame because the quality of life is so important, and often men find it very hard to limit their interests to passive activity. In Australia there is a group of guys who started up the "Men's Shed" movement, whereby a workshop is rented or borrowed for one or two days a week by the group, and each guy brings his share of tools to enable all members to make or repair stuff. There are such Men's Sheds scattered around different suburbs throughout all States of Australia, and they have the side benefit of reducing men's social isolation and thus the incidence of depression. It has shown to be of such social importance that the idea has taken off in other countries too. The good news is that sometime soon, like-minded guys will get onto this idea close to where you live, and you'll be able to start your own Men's Shed in Singapore. There is a lot of literature about this subject on the internet, and close links to "Beyond Blue", another innovative social support movement. Have fun searching Google for these great organisations 😃, you might even find something has already begun in Singapore.
+didyouknow I have a couple of questions: after some use, how is the table holding up? And a doubt: what is the purpose of the plastic cover on each tool's blade/bit? Can't you just leave the hole on the wood without plastic?
Its slightly not holding up when I'm working with the jigsaw, Im simply holding it by the foot. Plastic cover its just protection against sawdust than optimal hole the less dust goes to the tool. Thanx
Thank you, Michael Paley, your video is terrific! It is particularly great for me (and, I am sure, lots of other similarly afflicted people) because I am deaf. An instructional video where all the information is graphic is a real boon! Please keep up the good work. Brian Fox, Dublin, Ireland
Nice work. I lost count of the number of times I thought to myself "why he's doing that? He could have, , oh I see now!" 😊 I get what other commenters have said about the saw. I think though your fence system is great for the router it could get very frustrating for the saw taking too long for adjustments etc but on the whole I like it. I loved the cutting board inserts too. Ps. That music! It's like being stuck on hold on the phone. Glad I didn't hang up though.
Sorry man taking too long to get to your point in the Marine industry building sailboats all my life everything you're doing I could have done it half the time with half the tools but good effort to those out there that well don't have our experience again man good job thanks
Awesome idea. You just need to edit better. Could have been done in a twenty min video. Had to keep hitting fast forward. The jigsaw was a new one to me. Interesting concept.
VERY GOOD and very useful .
Thank you!
