FRONTIERS AWAIT

  • The crew of Expedition 41, Kerman, Kerman and Kerman, just undocked from the JKEV interplanetary vessel on their way to the surface. It's their 3rd trip to the Jool system, and Laythe is starting to feel like home for them. Being so close to the end of their journey, the whole trip gets challenged by a storm near the landing spot.
They need to assess the risk and make a decision.
3D animation created over three years, on and off, using Blender 3 and 4 and rendered with both EEVEE and Cycles render engines.
Postprocessing done with Nuke and editing done with Adobe Premiere.
Thank you all for your patience.
I know the wait has been longer than expected, but here it is. After moving to another continent and getting a job in the industry, it's been tough to find the hours to work on the project.
Thanks to those who kept reminding me and asking about the status of the animation, I've been reminded quite often of the short film and gained strength to do the final tweaks to deliver a finished movie.
I hope that, once you see the final result, you understand why it took so long to complete.
    Until next time!
    Juan Ignacio.

Wrong, this IS the best timing, to show those fkers that KSP2 has a low player number because THEY screwed up, THIS is what KSP2 should be, and what the community wants, maybe this is a declaration for the devs that really love the game as much as we do, to do the most certain thing in this time of sadness, release the source code, if it really is the end.... Because sometimes to love is to let go, and I hope that, in the worse case scenario, they see it and let the modders finish the what could have been KSP2

3:50 Reference to the ending Interstellar scene "She's out there.
    Setting up camp.
    Alone in a strange galaxy.
Maybe, right now, she’s settling in for the long nap,
In light of our new sun.
    and in our new home."

That first shot was a magnificent piece of directing. The amount of information provided in such a short space of time, the creativity going from the surface of the celestial object to the realisation it's a camera, panning back to the habitat and finally the habitat moving out the way to reveal Jool alongside the revelation that we are looking at Laythe not Kerbin: Beautiful!

God, it's so beautiful. The music adds some kind of note to such a wonderful atmosphere. And how does Valentina take off her helmet and take her first breath of fresh air far from home? Good God, it's a masterpiece.

I can't stress enough how great of an animation this is! One thing is that it looks absolutely stunning, but also it's totally possible to do in the game, thank's to you using the ksp mod models (or ones modeled after modded parts) making it a great inspiration!

I love this. It was really well made. The effects of the athmospheric entry and the camera angles on the lander made it look so damn realistic.

Also - leave it to Kerbals to just chuck out the supply boxes that clearly say "fragile" on them, haha.
