Hi John - I was wondering if you could do a video about yourself ?...how and when you first discovered the tarot, how you aquired your first deck, how you started learning the cards, your first professional reading ect ..I've watched a lot of your great videos but those questions are allways on my mind while I watch. I paid $15 for a class on Udemy, and have spent about 9 hours so far, and listening to you for 20 minutes makes more sense to me than that did. "What the card means depends on what the question is." Simply Brilliant.
the imagage talks to us..and it never means the same .cards seam to have a life of themselves..we must allow ourselves to say what it real means to us..trust our intuition..
One of the best readings I ever did was as a beginner in a class. I really didn't know how to interpret the spread and then suddenly BAM! Everything made sense.

Great point as always. To read the cards you have to actually look at the picture and see what sense it makes in context of the question. Otherwise you might as well be using index cards with fixed definitions on them. The cards have a reasonable range of meanings, and it is the readers job to select the meaning that makes sense.

I've been drawn toward tarot for some months now but have also been conflicted due to a natural inclination to resist all the prescribed meanings and interpretations etc. I expect spirit and the cards to communicate with me in my language and reference points, not someone else's! Do you believe in the concept of what's coined as a "soul deck" a deck that you use just for yourself. If you do how does one determine, is it just a general affinity, or something more? Thank you for your content
Thats true..being creatively open to the cards is key..also being able to simultaneously keep your references handy, while keeping open to something new.. ..good to write down the cards for looking back later. Also, you can use the cards strictly thru reference, or choose openess. Will i find somebody: 4 of cups (in my ref) would be not finding satisfying suitors..but without ref could be the park, at a bar after hours, someone you talk to now and again. Good topic! Thanks👍

I.e Some decks are quite sinister, others uplifting yet others quite diverse and difficult to relate to.

For your next video, why not ask a question and then interpret the answer as if you received the Mona Lisa as the card. Then, how would the answer be different if you received Grant Wood’s American Gothic? Any different if you pulled Van Gough’s Wheat Field or Starry Night?
