- Vampire Survivors Part 12 - unlocking Krochi. The first thing I try is hyper mode on the mad forest with zero practical powerups. Surprise, this is actually a mega hard challenge. Will the speed demon persist?

Oh I see why I have been struggling so much, I haven't had duplicator meta upgrade for the entirety of my game, just bought it recently, it already costed 15K, haven't tried playing with it yet 😅
I feel like garlic is a must for this fast of a character. The speed is good for outrunning baddies but it also runs you into baddies faster.
Maybe armor and laurel too while we're at it.
It's viable, but garlic has ticks whenever it deals damage so the faster you are, the more often you'll get slapped by someone who didn't die from the first tick
garlic is really good at dealing with the ghost and bat rushes
Garlic, bible, knifes and clock lancet, stay in the frozen lane and just be the fastest lawn mower out there

i was going to mention that missingno can actually be the most difficult character to play as, but not only is he effectively a cheat-only character, his gameplay can range from literally unplayable to literally unkillable, so he doesn't really count

Its very hard to find good stats with missingno like once i had very op stats but the growth was very bad it takes like 10x xp to lvl up once and i died kinda mad about it
One guy: 20000000% damage, speed, projectile speed and projectile duration
Everybody else: 10% every single stat
i feel like high speed has good synergy for clock lancet. u could run all the way through a group of frozen enemies without them unfreezing before you escape. Also with the defense vs offense plays i feel like speed is a defensive tool in this game in addition to the revive (extra HP) this character should be more defensive imo
Unfortunately you don't freeze again until they unfreeze so it's more about being in the right spot for that.
@@MudakTheMultiplier sorry i dont think i worded it right, i dont mean chaining the freezes. i mean simply escaping through the individual groups of frozen enemies into a more clear area without them unfreezing while youre still in their midst. its a run for your life kinda strat. though to be fair ive never played the game these are just my thought after seeing these vids
I was thinking the exact same thing, he said it was a loser mentality but I feel specifically for this speed build it would have been nice

@@the_nick_knack oh yeah my ADD has me moving from fixation to fixation. It’s usually the game rather than him. I played Mini Motorways for a month straight and now haven’t touched it in 2 😭

This game does take controller input! Being able to use a joystick makes those directional weapons like the cross or knife so much easier to control
Plus it lets you move slower than keyboard
@@patrickhector that is also a huge advantage, being able to scale your speed helps so much, especially when you’ve got garlic

@Nathaniel Carper haha yeah! I appreciate all kinds of games, mainly indie games, which Aliensrock does a LOT of. Tyler’s early BTD videos were actually a pretty big inspiration for me to become a youtuber myself, and seeing him continue to succeed with variety content and show off a ton of different indie games is something I continue to admire to this day!
I can't wait to see even more interesting playthroughs. Try the ultimate challenge, No Meta, Hyper mode, and NO evolved weapons. I wouldn't usually ask this but I feel like you can pull it off with time. Seriously loving this series too. Keep it up Tyler.
No evolved weapons isn’t really something you can control
@@surviverta842 it kind of is tho, it just means you don’t pick the items that evolve the weapons.
No universals and no candles could be added, but those are REALLY hard.

I don't think the shadows act like a tracer in any sense of the word. Are you saying that just because of tracer from Overwatch?

If you take acid you can get a visual effect that looks like this, and people call the afterimages tracers :)
An afterimage is an image that continues to appear in the eyes after a period of exposure to the original image. So in this case, "afterimage" is appropriate. He is moving so fast that your eye can't properly see it, creating an "afterimage" on the screen. I don't think I'd call what he's doing a "tracer" solely because you only see those types of afterimages if you're high as a kite lol.
I really think that the Clock Lancet is one of the most underrated items in the whole game, if you get it to high levels you are nigh-immortal as long as you follow it.

The clock lancer and either bracer and/or empty tome was a great combination, too. It just went tick tick tick and I could just stand around and watch everything get frozen and destroyed.
Getting the combi was mostly an accident. But I agree on the CL being underrated

So I have a few that i think could shake up the game a bit.
The Economists Helm - an item that combines when you get stone mask and crown to maxed. Every time you level up you gain a small damage reduction however it takes 1 gold piece every time.
Mistletoe - Evolved Laurel that you can only get if you have armor. When Laurel reaches 0 it creates a blast wave that pushes enemies back and will so a damage over time effect.
Gauntlet of the Storm - Lightning Rings evolved form that con only be obtained by getting wings. Lightning will now chain together jumping from enemy to enemy.
I'll have no idea if anyone will even read this but i still think they would be great ideas. If anyone has any other ideas then let me know
I haven't entered it so I don't know if it's true, but the official discord server for the game is probably a better place for suggestions (or maybe someone in the community could make a mod?)

I’ve found that the cross can be really good on the library map because the enemies are always coming in waves from opposite directions.

Tyler, VS does in fact have full analog movement support. 360 movement, plus speed control with joystick.
Don't underestimate the clover either. It helps you get more chickens, more powerup drops, chance to get 4 choices at lvl up, it makes pentagram better, and increases the chance of upgrade items spawning on the map, like the tomes and masks on library. Luck can win you runs, and it's fun =D
I literally made a video yesterday scheduled for tomorrow called "New Character Krochi Is A SPEED DEMON !!" And now I feel equally amazed but also weird we pretty much have the same title lol

summons vines to hold enemies in place and do dot damage
Evolved weapon(with laurel)
Nature's blessing
vines now do life steal and every 30s spiky bushes are created around the player that damage enemies that walk through them
Honestly, with some slight tweaking, I think this could be a really good Idea for this game.

Yeah, I feel cross is only really super good on Mortaccio, because when you evolve it, it's throwing SO many projectiles.
Needed to take whip, magic wand, garlic or knife. You need damage that doesn’t basically attack at random and attacks nearby.
Yeah the Holy Wand is great at keeping stuff away from you. Whip more so in the library, here not so much. Knife is basically a drill, it's useful if you keep moving.
magic wand has quickly become one of my go to upgrades for this reason. it's a great "keep away" weapon, plus tome is the best passive in the game

You mentioned how you were missing out on gaps due to only having 8 directions. If you hold your left click it creates a joystick around where you clicked. And in the settings you can make that joystick visible.

After looking at the wiki I learned that cross actually has an evolved version

The game does take controller input. Though I found that it doesn't detect it at first until you hit a button a couple of times
Clock Lancet, Cross and Wings seems like an interesting combo: just make roads wherever you go!
Revives in this game kind of suck. Its like how Clock Lancet is described: its reactive. When you die and revive, your build doesn't magically get better. Revives just lets a bad build stay alive for longer.
Yeah, I get that. At least it gets you more gold if you can hold on to those extra lives for the whole run.
Just in case you don't know - you can use your mouse to move the character. Click anywhere and drag. That way you can do omnidirectional movement, not just 8 directions.
Aw I wish you did this character with full meta upgrades and just the hardest map + hyper mode and just see some unique builds
I would maybe think axe, Santa water, laurel, clock lancet, king bible. Or get more damage and take out laurel for garlic. Idk I’ve never played the game myself. Love the vids!
your refusal to get garlic was infuriating
speaking of wings, a pentagram evolution might use wings to make your moving shadow do 666 damage, on top of the periodic screenwipe
So this gave me an idea, have pentagram evolve with the tiramisu item and make it that when you revive the pentagram pops off
I think the problem with the cross is how it aims towards enemies. Usually the main group of enemies are in the direction you fire, but the cross turns around, causing it to completely whiff.
Hey Tyler, great video, but maybe you should do a full speed build? I mean high attackspeed and get things like Whip, Knives etc. Getting Axe and Candelabrador could also help since the area increase will help Santa Water
Cross is actually decent if used wel, i managed to get to like minute 20 before getting a second infinite pierce. It can be annoying, but it us not random which is such an asset for a weapon as if you're able to control it, you can always target the biggest groups
I think with the cross you want to get enemies bunched up in the center like you where doing but then go closer to the enemies on the edges so it fires at the enemy on the outside then and they come back and pierce the whole group instead of hitting only 3 or 4 layers enemies deep when you're close to the center mass of enemies.

It's funny to hear you say you're not sure if it works with a controller or not. Not because it isn't a great question, just because I wasn't sure how it worked without a controller and haven't played without one. I like it, would recommend.
if you want a challenge, play missingno. he has randomized stats and sometimes he's busted and sometimes you have -100 cool down but -300 area and 500 tiny weapons
cross really suffers hard from the lack of the duplicator meta upgrade, every added projectile you can get is a huge boost for it since when it evolves for some reason it only has the 1 base again, should really be upped to like 3 imo or at least 2
On the joystick thing, you can hold click and it's the jankiest feeling movement. PS4 controller didn't work but I haven't tried fiddling with it
I think bullet speed would be really good on the evolved santa water since it could move more and thus grow more
hey there's ANOTHER secret character you can unlock he is called MissingN and starts with either axe or death spiral and is unlocked by killing the reaper ( or death ) at the 30 min mark. it is only posibble through editing the game files to make weapons deal ludicrous damage ( or just make death have 2hp and one shot it with basic garlic) the caracter is fun to play but he is an easier character. Would make and great showcase video tho

Just had a thought, if evolved santa water grows bigger with movement, would higher speed mean bigger size as you can go further in the same amount of time? Would love to see mega santa water lol
The problem with revive is it revives you into the same situation that killed you... If the revive also wiped the screen it might actually feel useful.

Short question what is the easiest way to make progress in vampire cause rn i can only do it to like minute 12-13 usually or is it just missing practice
In the Library, the empty tome is to the left at the top of the area, Stone Mask is to the right. They are both a fair bit away, and an be taken when you already have 6 passives, becoming a 7th that you can also upgrade. Careful, though. You can't upgrade them if all of the 6 passives you already have are already fully upgraded.
Evolved Weapon I would love to see: Storm King Ring. Lightning Ring + Crown. IDK what it would do, but I want it. Maybe it leaves a damaging AOE that lasts a few seconds?
i would be curious to see how long you could survive with all possible revives and laural and clock lancet to the grim reaper

cross is very unreliable. it's no garlic or Bible when it comes to clearing swarms

Waiting for a totally cracked MissinN run. Refreshing (going to main menu and back in) the character select screen changes his stats every time randomly and can allow you to start with the evolved Axe as your weapon and not need the special item.
Had an interesting quirk with him a run I did recently where due to the various upgrades I picked up and the total of -%144 Cooldown allowed the laurel to act as godmode.
Evolved cross does mad damage with certain buffs like candelabrador to raise it's area damage, duplicator, empty tome, spinach, it does a lot of damage, it's good early game and late game, just not mid
I found krochi kinda easy, just need bible, garlic or whip and really invest in those when you see them. every other slot is can be things like axes and wands. He melts through elites with the cross and some wands.
you should try to unlock the secret character for killing death. you technically have to cheat in order to unlock it but it's a LOT of fun to play. you have to see it for yourself.

I have a feeling DPS + AOE and defense + health is going to be the meta for this character, which means a heavy favor on evolutions but a rough early-mid game.
His movement leaves afterimages :)
I think the problem with the cross is that when it returns it cannot hit an enemy it hit on the way out

Not taking candlabrador immediately both runs was a major choke imo, seemed your biggest problem was mob clear and with your inconsistent aiming weapons the extra area is super valuable

did you know you can control your character with left click and drag? it becomes even more useful when youre trying to aim knives or the flamethrower for example

clover is what upgrades the cross lol. people think its luck that just randomly gives you evolution of weapons. and its not. its predetermined by what you pick. and you find out all about that into in the collection section before you start the game
You can do a challange where you have to pick only weapons that do not evolve. Laurel - Runetracer - ClockLancet - Bones - Pentagram - Lightning Ring. If you get a choice where you have to pick between items that evolve restart or pick cross or something bad and do not evolve it. At the begining you'd probably have to restart a few times because at level 2 you'd only get items that evolve but after few restarts you will see a runetracer or lightning ring and It should be ok.
You really should upgrade attract orb to pick up xp safely, it lvls you up faster.
So I’m thinking taking whip to go for the evolved healing. Also garlic, clock lancet, or laurel for some breathing room.
Do a challenge where you always have to take the item in the first slot when leveling up
I think the idea to start with cross on this character is to wait for the return of the cross to cut a path in which you'll escape with your speed. The knife could be a good deal too with the speed if the damage match.
It's even more visible with the evolve cross, the sword cut path clear, at this point you don't need area damage, just enough to dig a tunnel and be on the permanent run. Bracer seem to be a must have also to keep the momentum.
I've had a hard time playing other characters since I unlocked him. Speed go brrrr.
Although actually, you should unlock the missingno and to play with some truly busted weird builds.
Magic Survival is the harder older brother of what this game is, hope Tyler tries it
Lightning ring gets 100x better the moment it gets area attack instead of single target
funny, the missingno character was just given official stats and name now and its waay faster than krochi
Playin more aggressive might make revive useful since waiting till you actually die means it won’t make much difference
I think his one of the stronger characters, just because his starting item is overall just really good.
I would say Dommario is weaker as the debuff to speed really feels impactful at times.

Afterimages is the word you're looking for.
I personally like cross, my first win was with an early cross and both wands to keep everything away, and if they got in, garlic
