I’m on the lookout for easy to learn games with some depth that can be used for larger groups. So, if I understand correctly, the two games could be combined to support up to 8 players. I’m assuming that two games of rolling hills could also be combined for up to 8 players, but if I understand correctly, both games of rolling hills and rolling hills would provide more variety. Hmm…may need to give this consideration.

You are correct - each copy can add 4 more players, regardless of which box. So, 3 copies of Rolling Hills could play up to 12. And 2 copies of Rolling Hills plus 1 copy of Rolling Rivers could do the same.
