Love this series, you are real artist in what you do. Your friends are awesome to. Your living a lot of people's dreams and i appreciate you sharing it with us.
I was expecting normal entertaining video here, but what I've got is close to netflix documentary series, with breathing shooting, interesting people and well though scenario. Bravo!
This is an amazing pívot. This community needs adventure demonstrated and a life lived outside the van. I love that you took this direction that highlights community as well as adventure. Best of luck!!
Hi Crystal! Thanks for your comment! You are so nice! 🫠 I can’t wait to shoot with you guys, and then spend hours editing our adventure while drinking wine at the cabin!
This 148 Route Show is hosted by Amy Adams-Bryce Dallas Howard and Dave Grohl Canadian Style... Therefore is meant to be a success. Video editing skills matches the quality of the scenario where this marvelous idea is taking place. Simply breathtaking.
Thanks man! There is a lot of talent in that team, including Dominick Ménard, the other video guys (Alex and Sacha) and the girls behind the project. Truly an epic team.
I’m glad you are back stronger than never with this new project. It sounds really interesting and I admire you guys for going ahead and do it. Congrats
Yes Dom!! So stoked for all these videos. Can’t wait to see all your adventures. I also love listening and learning how to speak French, this is great.
Hello from SouthWestern Ontario! I just drove by the Pontiac Region a week ago on my way from Manitoulin Island to the Val des Monts area in Quebec. I wish we had known about this new epic Route 148. Looks like there are some amazing places to see. (Also, I usually don't like videos with subtitles, but I'm trying to brush up on my French Canadian, so, Win-Win!) It might be worth mentioning to your audience, that most Quebecers are bi-lingual so even if you don't speak French, you'll be just fine. (Not like in the 90's during the referendum years. I found that period very painful to visit Quebec back in my 20's.) Anyway, it's not called La Belle Province for nothing! It truly is a beauty! Good luck in your endeavours!
It's so good to have you back, Dom. As always, you've taken us on another great adventure! I love the new series. Looking forward to next week's vlog ☺
Wonderful series Dom , a great group of friends ...incredible scenery thank you very much , love the French & English it is nice to hear people's mothers tongue ....Thank you kindly
Thank you for your comment, the team behind the project puts a lot of effort into it. I’m not doing all this by myself! So I will pass on the good comments to everyone! Thanks for watching, there’s still two episodes coming up.
WOW! This was worth waiting for. Absolutely beautiful to watch in so many ways. I felt ya heart healing listening to the music and watching. Hugs dear Dom. Now for the perv in me, all it was missing was a double Dom shower scene LOL.. I might be old, but I'm not dead, haha. Smiles.
Thank you Dom, Once again another inspiring adventure. We are planning a trip to Nova scotia from Boston in september but now we may head to 148... Hopefully in the vlogs to come Ill get a better sense of the route. Cheers Paul
Loving this series thanks Dom and the team. Watching from North Wales, and while I have family north of Toronto I have never visited Quebec. Now I must!!!!
@@vanlifesagas in your opinion, is the Pontiac the most unspoiled and natural beauty in Canada? From your videos, it looks like a hidden gem. Do glad you’re showing it to us. Also, my husband has been to Canada probably 20 times or more hunting and fishing. He says the mosquitoes will carry you away. Are they bad in the Pontiac, as well?
Nous voulons vous remercier Dom ainsi que Destination Pontiac pour nous avoir fait découvrir une très belle région du Québec de super paysage et un accueil très chaleureux Anick et Fred
I love bouncing between English and French! Though too fast for me!! Lol Can you add to the end of this segment some tips for Americans wanting to see this amazing area? Requirements or advice perhaps?! Good to see you back again man!!!
Thanks for watching although there’s a lot of French in that episode. We know it’s a hard language to follow on screen, especially when the subtitles are very small. For the information on the region, you can visit the website in the description below. It will show you exactly where everything is and how to get there.
Pontiac looks so beautiful! I just bought my first van and my 14 year old and I are going to travel across country this school year while they do school online. We currently live in Florida (don't hate) and we definitely want to make our way up into Canada. Do you need AT tires to travel in Pontiac or are regular all-weather tires ok? Love all your videos!
Are there any plans to publish a map of the 148 route with the highlights shown? It seems like a trip I would like to do, especially if I know I won't get "the knock" while touring the Pontiac!
You forgot the most important piece of equipment to have during fishing......a cooler full of beerz! Btw, the video did not reveal if you two actually caught a fish? a minnow? a cold?
Ohhhh, we had beers on the beach. And well... the dinner... was simply rice. Because the fish were shy a little. OR, we completely sucked at fishing. Period.
Dom! How do we Americans get up with you guys on the next adventure? We are close to completing our build and living in it full time and want to adventure with you ALL!!
Sorry but its second video i dropped due to language issues. Simply i dont like to read captions. English is not my native language and as long as i was listening AND looking i was able to track content. Now to undersrand written i need to focus on leters, not wideo and i feel like i’m missing stuff. Please, try to do videos in english from start to finish, otherwise you’re limmiting your nonenglish (and french) audience
Yes, you are right - Shooting stuff in both languages is not optimized for this channel. I felt like letting my guest present in their mother tongue was a good idea. I’m confirming 100% English videos will be back in 2 weeks. In the meantime, you can watch the 77 other videos on the channel if you haven’t seen them yet!
HELLO DOM, Here is my suggestion for you: Make your video cast both in English, and another one in French, you can make them at the same time. The problem with bilingual video casts, is you're going to lose viewers, who don't have the patience (like me) to bother to read subtitles, so I and many others are simply going to unsubscribe! But I have very much enjoyed watching your video casts up to now! So that is my two cents of advice. Simultaneously make an English video cast and a French video cast, and then your viewers can choose which one to watch. But keep "Ze French Lesson" on your English version, I enjoy that, but I just don't have the patience to read subtitles at all, through the main body of your otherwise excellent video cast! Regards from Los Angeles!
Yes, navigating with French and English in Quebec has always been a bit hard. I'm glad to produce and create content in my mother language for this project! But I don't plan on creating a parallel French channel for the moment. I simply do not have enough hours in a week to do that! So back to English in 2 episodes. But I always offer my co-hosts to talk in their mother tongue. French is pretty much the case everywhere here.
I dont mind the subtitles, I do think the dual languages adds interest. For me though, I found myself only reading the subtitles and couldn't actually watch the video. Either way, great video!
I'll admit that the subtitles are difficult, particularly because I, like many people, am watching this on a phone. I gave up trying to read the subtitles half way through this and just watched the video. However, this is Quebec, and there is something much more natural about having people speak in their mother tongue. And It feels selfish and ignorant to insist they speak in english just to make things simple for me. But different folks, different strokes.
I usually watch on my TV while my phone is in my hand doing other things. You'd think the subtitles would bother me, but they didn't. I even could sorta get the vibe without reading the subtitles. It made me put my phone down and actually watch, rather than just listen. This series is so spectacular, I will gladly read subtitles and it just feels so authentic! I loved the way the Co host goes in and out of English. Can't wait to next week! Kudos Dom!
