    A few years ago, I took the passenger fender off my car. When it was time to put it back on, my wife and I signed and dated the car in the same place you did!
    Thanks for the videos, I do enjoy them!

      I am very hopeful to begin the rebuild on the GT-37 soon. I have a replacement shell with much less issues, than the original. So it will be a rebody still old GM metal which should not matter. Dynacorn does it,with the original vin swap.

    I owned a 1968 firebird convertible in the same color. The car was 5 years old when I bought it and it seemed to me that the color was just a tad darker than what I'm seeing here. It could be the light or something but that's my initial impression. I also own two other 1967 firebirds. One was green metallic and the 400 was red.

    • @VinylVillageGarage
      @VinylVillageGarage  5 месяцев назад +2

      The camera charges the color a bit from reality. Back in the day on the dukes of hazard the cars were painted a red color then once filmed it appeared orange on the tv.

    • @wmmseo
      @wmmseo 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@VinylVillageGarage That is probably true. I've owned 3 first gen firebirds and I've seen most all the colors and the color that you have looks better than any other. My 68 with the black ragtop and black interior looked better than any I've seen ever.

    Great and super helpful videos. Thanks much. Do you do anything to the bolts for any sort of rust proofing? Lots of the new bolts have a phosphate coating I think and start rusting out relatively quickly. Thanks.

    • @VinylVillageGarage
      @VinylVillageGarage  Год назад +1

      Some bolts I have sandblasted and painted. Other then that the phosphate coating is all they have on them. Yes they will rust again but keeping a thin coat of wd40 seems to work pretty good at keeping them looking nice and preventing rust.

    You made the fender look easy chief. Great work again. Did you use a flat clear on the upper dash and rear package tray area so there’s no shine or glare?

    • @VinylVillageGarage
      @VinylVillageGarage  Год назад +1

      Yes it’s a flat finish on the dash and rear panels. The glare is brutal if you paint it glossy.

    Hello Jon
    I’m working on installing a new radiator on my 67 Bird . Do you have a video of your installation along with the fan shroud ? I ordered and received a radiator and shroud from Summit. I don’t foresee a problem with the radiator installation but the shroud is another story. Appreciate any advice you have !
    Thanks !!

    • @VinylVillageGarage
      @VinylVillageGarage  Год назад +1

      I can’t remember if I did that on video. The factory shroud attaches with one bolt top and center to a metal bracket that is bolted to the core support. Then the bottom is attached by only clips that are attached to the radiator end caps. They are available in a kit

    Would it be possible/or easier to bolt on inner fender and assemble as one piece? My original inner was so rusty i removed as one...

    • @VinylVillageGarage
      @VinylVillageGarage  Год назад +2

      Yes, but the drivers side you will need to attach the inner fender support on the rear by the firewall first. The bolts that attach it will not be easily accessible once assembled. Then bolt the inner up to the support that are inside the wheel well
