I’d actually like to see this video, not because I think it’s real but because I’d like to show my kids. I’ve shown them some Q anon stuff not because I want them to believe it but because I want to show them how propaganda is structured and used. My 9th grader brought an antivax video to me and dissected it! Not just “this is wrong” but the actual nuts and bolts of “they keep calling this guy ‘doctor’, what’s he doctor of?”, “where was that paper published and what was the sample size?”, “this is the part where they sow doubt with scare tactics”. We all need to be much more savvy about how we consume media and the motivations behind it. Yes, that includes you too, MSNBC.
Let’s not forget Wm Randolph Hearst used his newspaper empire (and political influence) to drive cannabis/hemp prohibition because it jeopardized his investments in wood-based paper production. It’s nothing new.

This misinformation campaign is almost impossible to counter. People will get their news from sources that express an affinity with their personal beliefs. People will listen to the message that they want to hear.

Internet crimes are a completely different type of crime. Since these crimes can be perpetrated anywhere on the planet it’s an inherently low risk crime so there will ALWAYS be incentives to do these crimes. Punishments for cyber crimes will never be a deterrent. Sanctions will not work. What needs to be done is to shore up security on critical systems.

Morning Joe needs to dial down the skin-smoothing filter effect a bit. It's worse that some of the filters on peoples phones who have abused them to extremes. It should be very subtle, not something that makes faces look like plastic.
