New Mexico is the hardest place to catch trout. The land of enchantment makes you work for the magic and when it happens it is just that magic.
It surely doesn't come easy!
It's gratifying for all the real fly fishermen and women out here in the real world to see RUclipsrs get skunked! It's real, and a fish on every cast is not.
It happens brother! So glad it shows through!
Those jazz hands are killing me Smalls.
Come up to Canada, western slopes of the mountains, foothills, and glacial rivers. You'd be welcome.
Canada would be a dream! (Any and all provinces have some amazing fishing)
Bro I love seeing that you guys are finding the gems of New Mexico! Great work so far.. Keep it up!
Thank you so much!!
First haha get it son!
Haha! Great video! Kowalski’s voice went up 3 octaves when he caught that first fish!
What a trip. First day pain. The rest of the trip joy. Roller coaster ride. Cool video. You guys laughed the whole trip. Mike you guys could even have fun at an insurance convention together. Great to have friends like kowalski. It is always the journey we remember most. Next trip will be??
Thank you so much!! I am thinking Wyoming! Gonna have to do some more planning with Kowalsky first!
This was a fantastic video! I just found your channel recently. I appreciate the effort to film, edit etc. That's a lot of work and we viewers are the beneficiaries. Also, the easy rapport and positive dynamic with your friend added an additional layer of interest. You have quite the library so I've got a lot of viewing in the next few weeks. Thanks again and be well.
Thank you so much Greg! It’s come a long way since this video series!

I dont know what it is about your video style but I was "hooked" and as a fly guide on that river i know exactly how hard you were working for fish, let alone for the footage as well. Great job. Reach out if you return someday
No kidding?! I’ll be back in the SW after the holidays are all wrapped up here in the Midwest!
You're from KC!? That's cool man I live in Topeka! Great videos bro!

Here . Next time you are in northern nm I can put you on some spots. There are some killer small streams up here really technical but big fish. Keep it going 💪🏼
Thank you so much!! That would be so amazing!!
That's the truth of NM.. there's so much small stuff that's just loaded with healthy fish populations. And they're so pretty too! I'm always using Google Earth to find new undiscovered streams for videos and such.. NM is a gem for fishing.
@@elisjournal4435 It really seems like it!! I would love to be able to spend more time there and see some of the smaller stuff! I love tight quarters!
Get some practice with the bow and arrow cast !
Good stuff! Come hit up the driftless region in WI. Get ahold of me and I’ll show you some buttery browns.
KEEP ER MOVIN!!

@@FLYALLSZN JUST STARDED WATCHING YOUR CHANNEL GOOD STUFF BROTHER
I live in New Mexico and want to start making trips like this. How do you guys find places like this?
We need more cooking with Kowalski.. fishing good too tho.
Next time you need to come to Utah
You boys need to come up to Colorado for some real fishin! I been to Cabresto lake and caught brook and cutthroats….small ones. Antero spinney mountain we
New Mexico San Juan river nuff said.
Heading there this weekend actually!
Nice Franken-bow
I understand not doing the San Juan, as it's another 3 hour drive to Farmington from where you were, but you didn't do the Costilla or Cimarron?
I lost two flys….god blessed aahhahahahaha so funny. Man I do crazy disgusting things to save my flies…I have heard Ant flies work well on that lake.
👍👍👍👍👍
Fishing in NM is not great, between put-and-take fish and private land. The best fishing is on the San Juan in the northwest corner and then up into Colorado.
I think it is what you make it Craig. People out West are spoiled with great water. Compared to a lot of places NM has some incredible opportunities, just gotta find em. San Juan reminds me of the trout parks from back home
Where was the bridge located where you met Fin? How can you get there? Any suggestions for directions?
That's John Dunn Bridge. You can get to it by turning east in Arroyo Hondo (first road north of Rio Hondo). There's also a road you can use about a mile south of Arroyo Hondo that branches off 522. It's really easy to find - there's a sign that says "John Dunn Bridge"
I felt how bummed they were
The grind was real for the first bit of the trip!
You guys should show what your using.
How did you guys not make it to the San Juan!?
Next time!! We will for sure make it out that way soon!
If you guys ever come to southern NM. I can show you a gem of a Gila trout stream.
Shoot me a dm on ig we might be back sooner than expected 👀
Fished red in wrong place should went down from hatchery and those lakes suck
Sure seems like it! That is just apart of learning a new body of water to fish!
I think your friend is bad luck
