The new Panigale V4 2025 is quite controversial. So when opportunity knocked last weekend, I packed my camera, drove to Hockenheim and recorded the brand-new superbike in proper 4K. Enjoy! 😊 What are your thoughts on the design? ruclips.net/video/dgdLBJotm-w/видео.html
I have a 1994 Strada, it still makes me grin from ear to ear when I ride it on a good day! For looks alone I think it's still unsurpassed. Nice video, good choice of locations.
When you first bought the SPS you mentioned difficulty starting from cold. I’ve always meant to offer a tip but things got in the way. Try turning it over for 5 or so seconds and then turning the ignition off. Turn back on and let the fuel pump whir … try again. If it doesn’t fire and run on idle, repeat until it does, always going back to ignition-off to reset the map. Works for me.
Maybe it wouldn't be so iconic if it didn't have something weird about it 😉 Just remember the little stick the holds up the tailgate of the Ferrari F40...
I actually have! I had a (standard) 998, but crashed that one at Hockenheim. The 998 feels more refined than the 916 SPS. I just got a 999, which has the same testastretta engine as the 998 and it feels very smooth compared to the rawness of the SPS desmoquattro. The 998 also has lighter 5-spoke wheels, which makes turning a lot easier. The SPS is a bit of a beast to ride to be honest, but I like it 😄 It's part of the charm. Congrats on the 998R, awesome machine!
@@mick998r The thing is nearly all painted parts were damaged: front, side, rear fairings & the tank. The levers on the right side were done, and so was the clutch. I knew before there was also rust in the tank. And that was clear before looking at crash damage in detail. So I weighed value vs repair cost and decided to sell what was left. I have to say, though, until the SPS nothing ever came close to the 998 again, and that includes an S1000RR, an 899 & an MV Brutale. No match, not even close.
This is off topic but I’m reaching out to the Ducati 9XX community. I’m looking for a lower right hand fairing in yellow for my 2002 DUCATI 998. It’s different to the 998s and 996. If anyone has one please let me know.
Nice bike🇮🇹👌If the self-retracting sidestand is such an inconvience for you, you should consider relocating/replace the spring-bracket. Personally, I quite enjoy the quirkyness of the sidestand on my ‘97 916 and have yet, in nearly 8 years of ownership and over 30K miles to experience the bike falling over - knock on wood🪵✊😅😎 It is possible to apply the sidestand using your left foot, with a bit of practice I’m sure you’ll make it work😉

Another masterclass video by Donnie 👏🏻
Thank you! ☺

That's what the mechanic at the dealership recommended too, it definitely helps. Thank you! It's just one of those bits of "character" 😁
Donnie how much passion and dedicatiion to a bike! I subscribe every word you said, indeed I enjoy her as much!
With a bike like this, what else could I do 🤩 Yours looks great, too!
Awesome video and I enjoy all models of 916 but the SPS is The special One ☝️
It even has "special" in the name 😁
Excellent video love it. Any L twin 851 sp or 888 ,999 r even 1098 👍
They're all awesome! Too many to choose from...
Great video. Yeah the side stand retractable sucks. I had mine switched before I left the dealer. 748 not sps.

fantastico !
I have a 998R but id be happy to own the 916SPS. I've never ridden one to compare. Have you Donnie ridden the 998?

@@DonnieDesmo I've seen your crashed 998 video. It didn't look that bad! Didn't you want to put it back on the road?

For me for sure! ☺
Superb
Thank you!
I bought a 1997 916 monoposto, it’s not an sps. I still have it and it’s awesome! It’s a piece of art
@@eduardogonzalez738 They all are!
Massimo Tamburini was a genius
I agree! Still waiting if anyone will ever be able to rival his work.
@@DonnieDesmo and the 916 Senna also 😍
@@DonnieDesmo ...and the MV Augusta F4 also designed by him
@@lordfabri and the MV Brutale, great-looking bike as well

I think I almost got used to my hand-folding solution by now 😁 If that's the only price to pay for an otherwise awesome bike, I'm ready to do it 😉
Put a 1098 sidestand on that baby and you'll be happy.
Well, you know, I'm German and we always need something to complain about 😁
