My oncology nurse told me that the husband of one of her patients asked for her port when it was removed. He took it to a jeweler and had a sapphire stone placed in the center and gave it to her as a necklace to celebrate her beating cancer.
I was just watching your vlog and I got a call. It was world vision calling me to thank me for sponsoring Agnes 3yr old from Uganda and it was like so sweet! Oh my goodness I am so impressed with how much they care and how much love from the Lord they show. It literally made my day. I'm so excited to hear from her, we emailed her and have been praying for her, I wish I could share pictures because my new daughter is just the cutest thing in the world. Thank you FREY Life for letting me know who World vision was and that we could sponsor children through them. 💙
I'm so thankful that I found you guys on here I do not have cystic fibrosis but I have COPD and currently have pneumonia and it makes me feel so blessed to watch you and know that if you can handle everything you're going through I can overcome this infection as well!!! Sending so much love and prayers to you
Sending positive thoughts and vibes, prayers, peace and comfort, and a smooth recovery. Please keep us posted when and if you can. I have been in the hospital for almost a week and a half and not doing well myself. Keeping a positive attitude and praying really hard. Our ports are definitely our lifeline and lifesavers. Take care! Love and hugs to you all!
Hi the Frey life I love watching your videos they are so inspirational. I am a thirteen year old and I have had TERRIBLE hip pain for the past two years. Not to mention it is constant. Watching you go through all of the things that you do really helps me push through. I have been through two surgeries, not to mention one did nothing and the other did a little. I have had two nerve blocks that did not work and tomorrow I am traveling to Tennessee to see a doctor. Through everything that I have been through your videos helped me push through. Thank you so so so much for making these videos and being an inspiration and role model.
messy hair looks cute on you, Mary!! Keeping you in my prayers (along with Ollie and Peter) for a productive, helpful surgery and a quick recovery from anesthesia!
Hi Mary and Peter! I'm a nursing major w/ CF. First of all, just wanted to say good luck with your procedures! Also I thought I'd help out with the latin... PO stands for Per Os (which translates to by mouth) and NPO is Nil Per Os (nothing by mouth). Once again, good luck today!
Absolutely love that you have an Advent Calendar! I made one for our home when our son was an infant. He is now 38 and I made one for his home (and my grandchildren). Such a great addition to the season! Each pocket of ours has a verse from the Christmas story from Luke. - Praying for your surgery since you mentioned it the other day!
I was on an NPO a while back for almost 2 weeks and the nurses told me that it meant (Nothing per Oral), but I think it is latin. Praying for you as you rest up from your procedures today. Much love Frey Life!!!
thank you for the update on Mary's procedures. I'm thinking and praying for you guys always. How amazing is it that they can do all 3 procedures at once.
Sure praying for Mary's surgery today, hoping that all will go smoothly and well...praying also for Peter. Praying that you all feel God's comforting presence, peace, and strength.
I am praying! Also I just want to say that you guys make my day so much better. I have a hard time with my faith but then I watch you all going through life with a smile no matter what and I feel better. thank you for putting a smile on my face.
You are so amazingly brave, cystic fibrosis isn't easy, not many people can quiet comprehend what us cfer's go through to stay healthy and strong, inspired so much by your Videos!x
Good luck with the litany of tests/procedures you're having done. I can tell you that ports are sooo much better than they were waaaay back. I had my port installed under twilight & lidocaine injections. I'm sure it's going to be more complex since you're having the old one taken out and a new one installed, but you're in good hands and lots of prayers & positive energy coming your way!
You both crack me up! Hope everything went well through your surgery today! Just another hurdle you had to jump over in your boot camp journey. God bless you both.
A lot of medical abbreviation are Latin based. Writing rx's you just tend to just remember them, like prn is as needed I once learned all the Latin words the most common after I took the test for the Latin that information was washed from the brain. "retrieval error" < not just a computer term but also used in medicine as a term for forgetting. Good luck and wish you fast healing.
I've never seen an advent calendar or heard of it until now through the Frey life it's amazing what we can see on the internet and what we have in real life
I didn't get a chance to watch you guys yesterday so I'm just catching up. It's Wednesday...and I wonder if you're surgery is underway. I am thinking of you! I'm relieved that they are able to do all three procedures at the same time. Very wise decision! Yay for the advent calendar!! It's back!! ...guess I'm going to have to figure out twitter!
Surgeries are nerve-wracking. I'm sorry you're going through this. But I'm really happy you're doing so much at one time. That's lifting some weight/worries off of you. Wishing you smooth sailing & comfort, for you and your support team! :)
Knowing you grew up with a felt advent calendar made my day because my mom also made one while my siblings and I were little. It was always up for debate on who would get to put up baby Jesus on Christmas morning. :)
All the best- praying for safety and a speedy recovery. My last port surgery sucked but that was because it turned out my old port was a big, massive old school thing buried really deep- not the tiny little power port I was told I was getting! I wanted to have a Viking funeral for mine, but I wasn't allowed to keep it!
Good luck you guys give me inspiration. I am 35 having Cystic Fibrosis is challenging. I found out 6 years ago that I have the desease. I will be praying for you!
Whoa, loved the teleportation at the end! Mary and Peter, my thoughts and prayers are with you that the wait goes quickly and the procedures go perfectly tomorrow. You are in the best place for them. I will be thinking about you all day tomorrow. Off to join Twitter for updates! ❤️
Oh boy, good luck with it all. Luckily I haven't had to do three procedures at once. Your videos have really been helping me through the rough patch I'm going through. Seeing your positive attitude through everything has helped me see the positive in my situation as well. As I said in a comment on another of your vids, I have Systemic Lupus. I just had an apt with my Rheumotologist and found out my levels of inflammation and SLE are elevated so he raised my dosage of Methotrexate. I'm hurting a lot and just feeling horrible. I hope your procedures go fine. I had an endoscopy to see why I was having trouble swallowing and such. It was a cinch, no pain or anything.
I have an appointment at Boston Children's in a couple weeks. If you are still there, I will be sure to send plenty of happy vibes toward the inpatient floors! I hope you feel better Mary & I love your videos!!!
Mary I had a endoscopy too. I have had it 4 or 5 times. It's been hard for me but more hard for you. I had a esophagus disease but we got a call and it's gone. Good luck at your surgery and I hope you have a fantastic recovery ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
If you haven't looked this up yet, NPO stands for "nil per os," which is the Latin phrase for "Nothing by mouth." Basically, doctors don't want patients to have anything in their stomachs pre-surgery in order to minimize the possibility of...yes, since it's real life...vomit. And also to make sure images of certain areas (as the intestines or other organs) are clear and routes are not blocked. Yay, medical terminology class!
We are thinking of you and hoping for wonderful surgery results! I watch you everyday and me and my family have come to think of you as friends, best of luck!
Since Mary's procedures have been postponed, what time will they be on Wednesday? I'd like to say a prayer for you (her) at surgery time. Thanks. Good luck Mary. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Xoxo
Sorry everything was postponed till tomorrow praying for You Mary that all goes well and praying for You too Peter Love seeing Ollie You two are so strong cheering You on Mary love You guys God bless
Mary, you are a brave young lady. God has used you a great deal to encourage me to be strong through my health challenges. Praying for your health right now to "The Great Physician". ⭐🙏
Port replacement.....been there, done that this year. My first little guy was "retired"after seven lovely years of service. I named my new port Porsche:)
I was in the hospital all of December and January, last year/ start of this year... it's horrible being in there during the holidays.. but I'm praying you recover easy... blessings to your family..
Mary I'm sure your operation is over by now and I've been praying for you. I know how you feel with these operations I have two in January to look forward to. Happy New Year 2017!! I've been having a couple of rough days and just feel like packing it in!! But then I watch the Frey Life and it picks my spirits up! ! With all you are going through it makes my issues miniscule!! I would just like to get this transplant and get on with my life!! I keep asking God what is your plan for me? Why am I here? I'm still waiting for an answer and I'm sure it's going to come one of these days! In the mean time I will keep praying and looking ahead! I can't wait to see tomorrow's video to see how you are doing. God Bless You
I love watching your videos! I'm sending you a bunch of positive thoughts and hope you get through your surgery safely! You guys are such a great inspiration to others who have illnesses that they have to live with through everyday life and I want to thank you for that! I've had juvenile idiopathic arthritis since I was a child and it's nice to be able to watch these videos! The latin for NPO is non/nil per os. Non/nil are what translates to "nothing" and per os is what translates to "by mouth". Figured I'd add that to the bottom of my post as I was typing this out as you were talking about it in the video! :)
Best of luck with your surgery, Mary! Also, I always thought NPO stood for "nothing passes orally", but I might have just made that up years ago and thought that's what it really was. lol
Don't get discouraged about the stairs, Mary! Everyone has good days and bad days! I wonder if the reason it was hard was because you weren't hungry/eating and didn't have a lot of energy? I've noticed that if I exercise when I haven't eaten in a while it is much harder and I just feel so much slower.
My oncology nurse told me that the husband of one of her patients asked for her port when it was removed. He took it to a jeweler and had a sapphire stone placed in the center and gave it to her as a necklace to celebrate her beating cancer.
That’s a really really cool idea!
UPDATE: Mary's procedures have been postponed until tomorrow (Wednesday)
The Frey Life Oh no! That's a bummer! Stay strong guys! 😘
The Frey Life Hope the reason isn't serious but glad she will be able to get the procedures. Praying for all of you.
The Frey Life Oh man!! Hopefully they didn't wait too long to tell you guys so she could eat ;)
The Frey Life praying! You will be amazed at your new port I bet :) I've had 3 in 6 years and they've gotten better since then!!
I am so so so so so so so sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bless you Mary, Annie and I are rooting for you honey.
Blessings to Mary, Peter, Oli, your followers and viewers.
You've got this Mary. There is a family of followers praying for a great outcome! 👍👍❤
Praying for a successful surgery and a quick recovery. Ten and one-half years for a port sounds really good to me.
I will keep the three of you in my prayers. I pray for guidance and clarity for the Doctors.
Wishing you the best of luck! Just remember you've got 94,000 people's support behind you!
I was on an NPO a while back for almost 2 weeks and the nurses told me that it meant (Nothing per Oral), but I think it is latin. Praying for you as you rest up from your procedures today. Much love Frey Life!!!
I am praying for you Mary. I like Psalm 91 and Psalm 23 when I'm scared with health issues. ❤️
