I want the Alpha with irons and/or the Trail in .308.

The barrelled action Looks like it’s going to be an awesome bit of gear… wish they followed on from the 457 with a push to fire safety rather than the weird button.
Also… walnut MTR or OEM manners stocks would have been much better than anything currently offered.
None of the factory options look compelling…
Aftermarket support is going to be the make or break on this… hopefully MDT, manners, and Boyd’s will be coming to the table on this one.
Criticism aside, I’m still a CZ fan and will be giving it a go.

agreed. seems like a great value but is a little too much function over form. Function is most important, but form (i.e. different stock options) is an easy fix.

No more 527 cost cutting at its finest. I am truly disappointed . Race to the bottom guys way to go.

Isn't this rifle a controlled round feed with essentially sako extractors? What's wrong with that?

I'm most disappointed I didn't purchase more of the 527.. many will be looking for them on the used markets ..their value will increase now

@@terryleblanc6868 They already have! I just sold the Grendel and 223 at massive gains. Keeping the x39 indefinitely. Soon I'll start unloading my 550s, keeping the 6.5x55 FS.

@@Visiblyblue the sako design is ok but it's not really CRF. It's more like the "controlled round push feed" thing that winchester did with their model 70 for a while. Besides, the biggest advantages to the mauser design are actually in extraction and ejection. Oh, and gas handling which no one seems to think about anymore.

“Tire tread” on that Alpha looks like it’s bubbled and loose fitting…. I think CZ could do better. Tested tough?!…. At a vineyard?

I'd love an option with iron sights, bought there 527 7.62x39 before it was discontinued ($$) and I realized I love polymer stocks in a working rifle. Why am I so fickle ;)

The alpha is just plastic ugly.
But hey thats just my opinion.
If they used the same strategy as the 455/457. Lots of stocks to choose from (lots of opinions out there). And barrels in normal or varmint thickness .
Then they keep releaseing new stocks and chamerings, so when you Read or hear CZ you want to check it out, because it just might be the One you didnt know, that you just have to own.

    • @T_Shane

I personally like the alpha but I’m also kind of rough on my rifles and really don’t want to beat up a really nice walnut stock. The plastic ones I don’t care to beat up on. And I think it’ll feel nice as far as ergonomics go. Once I can get one in my hands I will know for sure.

@@T_Shane I try to uppgrade the stocks. But I keep the plastic original exactly for those purposes. They have their place.

    Another crap from CZ...
When they changed the bolt in the 527 model to the 550, it began to jam, when they replaced it with a Remington bolt in the 557 model, it began to fall apart after two packs of cartridges (the ejector pin was cut off), When they screwed the picatinny rail over the original mount for optics in the 557-RENGER - it began to fall off along with the optics right on the hunt, when they changed the fuse in the 600 - everyone stopped using it and spontaneous shots began...
The further into the forest, the more firewood... - NOW CZ is recalling its “modular” carbines of the 600 series due to the fact that their barrels are falling off!!! And now the user does not have the opportunity to change the caliber HIMSELF, but must necessarily send the carbine to an AUTHORIZED CZ repair service by mail... :-(((
CZ - Aw!!! - maybe enough experiments??? Let's go back to the good old Mauser?
