I just acquired one of these. The display doesn't work but the rest does. I'm in the process of re-capping it in hopes of getting it operational. I noticed it had a resistor jumper added later on, I know exactly what the intention was for it but I plan to keep it just on 10 meter since my license covers that band. Thanks for making this video, i'll check out your other video(s) on this unit!
I had a couple of these radios years ago. Excellent rig for what it is. I enjoy your channel Mike, your work is meticulous. Glad to see you aren't one of those everything to the right butchers that ruin every rig they touch. I wish more CB'ers would "'get it" like you have.
I just purchased a 2510 on ebay lights up recieve doesn't seem to work I got it all apart removing the glue and yes it's not fun and I'm recapping it hope it lives looks all stock no one has been in it after recapping I'll see what she does . Thanks for all your info
I loved my 2510s. I guess this is still relevant. You talk about drilling but not with a power tool. I bought 2 (a spare) 3 jaw chuck used on a dremel tool. It has a knearled barrel to hold onto. I put a wood peg in back to rest against your palm. The 3 jaws hold pretty much any drill bit or auger. Works great, comfortable and gets the job done. And with less skips or missing your mark. If you get this and know. I don't have any papers on this radio. The final is also used in a mobile amp. I'm hoping they dropped in price or a newer or better substitute . Got any part numbers for me? Cheers.
Thanks for posting this video. Can you please sugges/guess for me what might be the issue with an old 2510 that I’ve pulled out of storage that powers up but I don’t hear any audio besides a hiss happening and my liquid crystal display has some black blotches but no other digits or numerals displayed? It used to work just fine and I’m just trying to understand if it’s salvageable? Someone suggested to me that could be a bad display. Glue on components is still a beige colour with no evidence of burns or decaying. Thanks.
+TheDefpom CMU200. Just remember it was really designed for use in the cellular industry so using it for two way radio can be a little tricky. One way around some of its limitations is to use two of them. I actually have 4 of them now or two setups. Also, it does not demodulate. I have the IF board 10.7MHz sample output routed to a external demodulator, another workaround. If you do want to get one be sure you get one with all the options needed for radio/audio work. I looked through hundreds of them to find the ones I got with just the right option package. The only thing I couldn't find at a reasonable price was one with the FM MPX Stereo generator option. I'm going to have to buy that license key.
Hi Scott look for the Model 1100.0008.30 it’s a bit hard to find but a better version. The one you will see most is like Mikes the .02 version, like he said you really need to do your homework on them so you know what options there are.
Good day sir. Was wondering if you’re still in business? I have a 2510 that has glue and from watching your videos I would like to get the service done to it. Thanks for the awesome videos keep you the great work

On the President Lincoln, there is no RF-Gain, and instead there is RF-Power. I suppose that was the last difference your were looking for.
