I had this in my beam routine 25 years ago and the amount of bruises up my shin from ankle to knee while learning it were ridiculous😂

Shannon Miller is an employer skills on Balance Beam.
I feel like this skill is what lead to her wrist problems cause if you look she basically turns half the skill with her wrist in one position then moves it. Seems like over time that would cause some problems.
This is not bad for the wrists of a professional gymnast. What really causes wrist injuries in gymnasts is the uneven bars.

Could that qualify as a turn?
It's my understanding that this skill was never actually recognized by the FIG as "the Miller".
She submitted it at the 1993 World Championships and it was given an E-rating at the time. It was later removed from the COP during the 2001-2004 quad.(?)

You are correct. The move that was submitted was understood to be a hop turn not a pirouette so it wasnt named after her because that not what she did. i think the whole thing was a misunderstanding and really a silly mix up. I should be called the miller but it isnt.
@@amarkray01 It was never in the code. This skill looks nothing like the skill they said it was. Nellie Kim and Jackie Fie are just stupid
Is this skill still in the CoP, and what is the difficulty rating?
It's not in the code and has never been in the code. The description Nunno gave supposedly didn't match the skill so they considered this move an Omelianchik which it looked NOTHING like. The FIG is just stupid.

It isn’t in the code anymore. My guess is that FIG consider it as two separate skills “jump backwards with 1/4turn to handstand + 1/2 turn in handstand” which is ridiculous. Just like they did with all the front aerials to arabesque
@@BaraXXXanova666they want to keep the single skills as separate elements, and then account for the increase in difficulty of doing skills in sequence with connection bonus (however they do have exemptions for this for mounts like press to handstand mounts where they combine the entire sequence as one skill. In this “Miller” case the jump with 1/4 turn is C and the half pirouette handstand is only A, so no bonus. However I’m sure that if someone tried it as a mount as a round off at end for beam flic flac with 1/4 turn to side handstand with half turn that would be considered a single skill.

Moceanu ruined the move pausing between the turns and making it appear as two moves instead of 1
