I absolutely love the Animated version of Omega. The arc revealing his and Ratchet's past almost jerked some tears from me because it was honestly messed up, but Ratchet was so caring for him. I could not help but see it as if Ratchet saw Omega as his son and I just loved their interactions once he was re-awakened. Big baby boy. Big powerful baby boy.

Transformers: Animated Omega Supreme made me fall in love with the enormous unit of a lad. He's simplistic, but not unintelligent, and there's a fatalistic undeneath it all which implies a level of deep thought his speech is incapable of conveying properly. Despite this, he keeps fighting.
I find it awesome that we both out of excitement for his new toy did videos on Omega Supreme. I didn't do so intentionally and it's not a race on who makes what, but we're both driven by our love for Transformers and for this massive Autobot!
I added him to my schedule a month or two back on the presumption the new toy would be revealed in full at Toy Fair! From these comments you'd think guys like you and me just bash out our videos in a few hours - like two guys never made RUclips videos about the same thing at the same time before! 😆
@@ChrisMcFeely Somewhere in my desk my wallet is weeping, both because it knew it would never be able to afford that Siege Omega Supreme or really any Titan class figure, and it also knows that even if it was bought, it would take a huge chunk out of its contents.
@@ChrisMcFeely yeah it takes a really long time to get a script together, research the information, record the audio, edit that audio, get clips, edit photos in Photoshop, etc. I wanted my video up during the Toy Fair weekend but my whole family got bronchitis, slowing my work down. Taking care of two kids in diapers who are sick is no fun. It was probably for the best because there was more information available for him after last weekend that i added in. Besides, I think we both did an amazing service to the character! Loving Transformers : appreciated!

I love animated omega, like all of the autobot's back stories are great but his/Ratchet's are my fave. the story of High command making sapient WMDs, and omega's existential tiredness and his bond with Ratchet are part of what make animated so special.
Would have been fantastic to have a version of his toy, too!
I'll never understand why there's no 3rd party Animated toys. Everyone seems to love the characters and the toys (plus there's so many already established designs that never got a toy), but instead you got like 20 companies all making G1/IDW Devastator or Dinobots.

You know, I met Animated Omega Supreme’s voice actor.
While I don’t outright love the character, one thing I adore though is his name. OMEGA SUPREME. That is a name that screams you are not to be messed with or underestimated. One of the best names in the entire franchise.
Omega Supreme sounds like a Flagship Pizza Flavor/choice to me.

really? Omega is my favorite character in the entire series...
I've always had a soft spot in my heart for G1 Omega Supreme (I haven't seen any of the other representations.) Optimus having a respectful talk with him and lending an ear to hear his story, while still being firm enough to ensure he follows orders, was a memorable episode plot. Omega Supreme's love for Crystal City, pain at finding out how it was destroyed, and need for vengeance in avenging it really illustrates how even the G1 series wasn't just robot vs. robot, it was about sentient beings with hopes, loyalty, and even redemption.
GI Omega Supreme has the most ridiculous transformation, I remember seeing his rocket form arriving at another PLANET, when he transforms back to humanoid form, the train tracks and the tank just materializes out of thin air.
I like how Prime wants to help Omega and instead of using him as a sledgehammer. Prime talks directly to him

Omega became one of my favorites after I watched his starring episode in G1. Always loved how the episode ended on that note of hope after war trauma:

My favourite is the War for Cybertron version, he's such a beast. I love that his intro is smacking the Decepticon ship out of the air like it's nothing. I prefer the toned down colour scheme as well, I'm not much for bright reds and yellows in large quantities.

I can’t help but be sad every time I think of animated omega supreme. The autobots built a weapon with a conscience and was ready to abandon him when he was no longer useful. Hell they probably left him out of the history books, after all Sentinel prime was the one who defeated the decepticons.
The role the Omega Sentinels played in saving Cybertron - and the Autobots - from the Decepticons is well noted. If it wasn't for their sacrifices over the course of the war - with many going out in a blaze of glory in the final hours of the Battle for Iacon - Cybertron would be under Decepticon domination.

I just have to share this funny story. I have the Heroes if Cybertron PVC figures, and often enact silly stories with them with my kids. Well, a running joke with us while using the Omega Supreme figure is that he loves tacos supreme, kind of like how Deadpool loves chimichangas! Lol!

Every time I hear “Omega Supreme”, I immediately have two thoughts. Massive Transformer and Massive Pizza. Either way, you cannot go wrong. I am so stoked for the Siege Omega Supreme later this year.

Animated Omega Supreme is not only my favorite incarnation of the character, but one of my favorite TF characters period.
I love Omega's visor helmet. It really helps to make him stand out among the Transformers and it's one of the few design motifs from the original Mechabot-1 toy I'm glad they kept as part of his iconic look. (Except for War for Cybertron where they gave him a helmet-shaped head)
My grandmother found an in-package Omega Supreme while sorting Goodwill donations with her church. She brought it back to me and, sans electronics, it was fine. You've never seen a kid more amazed than when my grandmother yanked the toy out of the car and said "I thought I would check and see if you wanted this before we put it on the shelves."

I first found out about Omega supreme from my uncle who has a collection of old comics and magazines. He read an article to me about Omega Supreme saying he was so powerful that he could shatter mountains and could possibly make the hulk cry. Then a few years later I would see what Omega looked like in the war for Cybertron game. It wasn't until a few years later when I finally had internet at home that I would see the G1 Omega Supreme. Omega supreme has since become my favorite autobot of G1.
Absolutely an event, every time! And the Animated version of the character is my favorite and hammered that point home. It was fun to know that their spacecraft was Omega Supreme just hiding in plain sight. It makes you wonder if the transformer cities featured in the show as well were simply in animate or pulling a kayfabe of their own.
Good times, and the best use of the brand in any series by far!

I can only like this video once, otherwise I'd click until my finger goes numb! Omega is and will always be my favorite. Watching him own the combines of G1 always made me nostalgic.

Growing up with Animated seeing the scene where he transforms and say "I am, Omega Supreme!" he's my favorite Autobot and I can't wait to get the new Siege Omega
As a kid watching the Transformers movie I couldn't help but wonder, "Where was Omega?" You would think the important battle that saw the death of many G1 Autobots would at least have a mention of him.
There was a graphic novel of the movie that showed what happened. Omega Supreme and the Autobot combiners were defending the Ark from the Decepticon combiners minus Devastator to keep them occupied while Megatron and the other Decepticons attacked Autobot City

Omega Supreme is my favorite character. I had been considering signing up on Patreon just to request him in this series. Technically I don't have to do that now, but I plan to sign up once I get my next pay check anyway. Finally got some bills paid off on this last one.
My favorite moment is in Blaster Blues when Astrotrain slams into his heel and he yells out "Who Challenges Omega Supreme?"
The upcoming Siege Omega is the mainline figure I've looked forward to the most out of any figure ever, and I've bought every 3rd Party Omega Supreme too.
Would he be considered a titan? He is big, powerful, has a base mode, and defends a city. These are similar titan qualities he has.
No titans are known for their sizes, guardian robots are big, just not big enough like titans
Titans dwarf even the Guardians
OS is a sentient Guardian Robot with an independent spark and is larger than the Combined Team Robots but smaller than the Titans. Also, OS has no Decepticon counterpart. He's one of my most favorite Autobots ever!
G1 continuity has him classified as a Guardian. In modern continuities, he's definitely a Titan, along with Metroplex and Fortress Maximus.

I remember commenting on your ‘coming in 2019’ video at the start of the year about wanting a ‘The basics’ video on omega supreme - and now it’s here! Thank you so much, Chris, he’s always been a favourite character of mine too. Couldn’t be a much better time either, what with the new Titan class figure having recently been revealed. Great video as always 🙂
I loved that they brought him into war of cybertron then putting metroplex in Fall of cybertron giving both of them the spotlight which is amazing.
I love how the G1 cartoon transformation sequence for Omega was honest about his parts-forming and its a nice bit of animation.

My favorite story is that he's of an ancient race of protectors, the Sentinels.
But my favorite design is from Animated, when he was the Ark.
I'd love to see a new incarnation that combines those two elements.

He is one of me favorites to. And is probably the reason I don’t care about part forming. I hope he get the spotlight he deserves in the Netflix show.
When I was a kid, I was given a toy made by Grandstand toys called Omegatron which was basically the pre-Hasbro incarnation of the robot in the same grey & red livery made by toybox - most likely just a rebranding. I've still got it today, sadly I doesn't walk as something has broken or come adrift inside on one leg/tank track (so it walks in circles), the batteries once leaked so I don't know if it will power up & many of the track pieces got lost over the last 30 years so I can't transform it. Currently have it residing on the desk in our spare room.
Ah, I remember seeing the Convertors Omegatron on the shelves in Woolworths back when I were a lad - and being very confused about it! 😆
@@ChrisMcFeely I'll be honest when I first got it, I hated it as it wasn't a G1 transformer, but when it appeared in the marvel comic & animated series I then begun to like it. Sadly this was a problem of being a hardcore Transfan in the 80s - every now & then at Christmas a relative would buy you a GoBot or one of the other variations of toylines available back then, thinking it was a Transformer you wanted. Even so you had to put on a smile & say "yay, just what I wanted" when you tore the paper off & didn't spot the Autobot or Deception logo on a Transforming toy. Then if you were like me it ended up being left under the bed until someone else came round who wanted to play with your transformers, so they got to play with the non Hasbro ones so they kept their hands off your prized TF collection.
I had the same one! I wonder whether Convertors were all motorised, as I also had a self-transforming (sorry, converting) jet robot controlled by a switch on a wire from that toy range.
Anyway, great episode, Chris! Always makes my Saturday.

Well done Chris, you usually do videos requested by your Patreon sponsors, but you were dead right in being "selfish" this time, Omega Supreme is a totally awesome character and he definitely deserved his own basics video, especially with the new toy coming out. I don't have a lot of space for my Transformers figure collection, so I'm only gonna buy one Decepticon titan (Devestator, I'd actually rather have Predaking, but Devestator and the Constructicons are such super important characters, do I'm going with Devestator). But my one Autobot titan is definitely gonna be an Omega Supreme, I've wanted him desperately since I was a kid; I won't be getting this new figure though, at two feet tall I just don't have room for him!
In TF animated Omega waking up and asking Ratchet is he's oke is one of my favorite moments in all of TRANSFORMERS!
My favorite incarnation has to be Animated, he was the first version of Omega I ever saw, and he made a stellar first impression on young mean

My favorite Omegas are the G1, Animated and WFC versions. I always loved his speech quirk even though the way he got it is actually quite tragic if you think about it. Animated Omega was easily the best developed of the three for the continuity he was in and his relationship with Ratchet was adorable and it was one of the many, many things that made that show great. And finally WFC Omega based on pure oomph power so you put it. He's so badass. Which granted is something you can easily say about all Omegas but he fits the dark tone of the game well. At the end of the day I like him and I'll always have a place in my heart for Animated Omega. Plus I'll certainly be getting his new toy.
And it was really nice to see what character you love Chris. Could you do Defensor or Superion Next as they're my all time favorites

Omega Supreme has been my favorite since his premiere in 1985. In fact I remember seeing the mechabot-1 toy for sale at an amusement park near where I lived thinking it was a rip-off of Omega Supreme in the mid 8Os. Man I wish I knew better. Thanks for making the basics on my favorite bot👍

I think animateds version of his alt mode makes the most sense. Perhaps combine that with the personality or orgin of one of the others and youve got the best version
It's astounding that Omega has yet to appear in any of the live action films, given how grandiose of an explosion fest Bay would have with him. Fortunate however, considering how Bay has treated other fan favorites like the Dinobots. Perhaps an appearance in the rebooted timeline films, as a potential ultimate defense against the currently being set up Unicron lies in the future?

Omg my friend had this when we were kids i was so jealous. To this day id rather have just an Omega Supreme than the, in retrospect actually impressive cillection my mom gets all the credit for.. she really made sure bdays and christmas were awesome i need to go hug her now smh.. probably 20 good ones all dinobits, insecticons, cinstructicons, both triple changers, along w many of the smaller ones, the sharkticon too. .. Omega Supreme. Showtime. That and an AT-AT(Which i was informed years later were always sold out when they went shopping)and my childhood would have been perdect.
G1 Omega Supreme my favourite version and I especially like his back story from the original series.
You know I love Omega Supreme's design, back story and personality but I dont care for his alt mode (not a fan of base mode transformers) so I didnt get his Titan class toy. Now if they do a Titan of animated OS or even Energon OS I might consider it.

I always loved his (it might have just been the super change robot version I’m not sure) cameo appearance in the classic movie NINJA TERMINATOR
It definitely wasn't the Transformers version, as the colors are completely different. Considering the part of the world that movie was made in, it could have also been a bootleg.
For anyone that hasn't seen it, here is the scene in question, where an incomplete "Omega Supreme" is sent by an evil "Ninja Empire" to deliver a "death message". The evil ninja empire then follows this up immediately with a phone call, making the whole messenger robot pointless.

I was born in 1988 and grew up in the '90's and the 2000's. The version of Omega Supreme I grew up on was the Energon version of the character.
I wonder if a blue Guard-Robo or even a black original recolor will be issued for the Siege OS.
