Who knows but given the system the Leafs are playing under Berube which is more structured and less based upon trading rush chances, it’s not impossible to see how he might fit in. The cost would be low but wouldn’t he have to spend some time with the Marlies to get the rust off before suiting up for the Leafs and how does that work with waivers etc. It would be a low cost, low risk gamble and get around the issue that the Leafs don’t have a lot of trade chips to use to get the type of player(s) they need.
The Leafs will be the safest bet for him, too, because of expectation. If the Leafs goes further in the playoff, he'll get some of the credit, if the Leafs exits early, it won't be on him. I don't think we can say the same with the Jets, he'll bear a lot of the brunt if they exits the playoff early.
