  • I was testing out a different camera angle for the wheelcam on a practise Server.. then this happened when blasting through Masta Kink on full throttle.

Well.. that's to be expected in Rally.. but not in a kink on the road at 200+mph

@@KayoMichiels not to mention it didn't work out to well for the guy that coined it...but great save

Let's just say that Masta Kink earned its reputation...

From my view it seemed like losing the car on the entry actually slowed the car down enough to take Masta. How you not only held onto that but also kept the foot down without crashing is a mystery to me, an impressive mystery.

Imagine do that IRL in the literal matchboxes that were race cars back in the day. These guys would refuse seatbelts because they'd rather be thrown several feet from the car than be strapped into a fiery coffin

Yeah... back then Jackie Stewart was the leading force for safety... it even led to the 69 Belgian gp to be boycotted, 70 would be the last on the old layout...

@@KayoMichiels incredible that even up to 1970 they were racing here. Can't even imagine

@@che17grr People looked differently at safety.. it wasn't until Senna's crash on live TV that would affect public view on safety...

Bandini's wreck at Monaco in '67 in which he roasted in the car after it overturned was horrific. He died three days later. After Jim Clark's death in 1968, safety belts were regarded a little more positively by the drivers. But it is doubtful that any belt would have saved Clark in that crash. His body would just have stayed in the car.

I know physics in GPL was good but honestly, this one would have ended badly in RL, in my opinion...
