My Ancestry DNA test results are in! A whole 7 months later, I'm finally getting around to uploading them. (WHOOPS!)
Also please know that I'm being sarcastic! I was excited to receive my results, and I am happy to learn more about my Samoan lineage. I'm still working on figuring out if my bloodline comes from Western or American Samoa... or both!
Thank you for watching! xo

I’m from Hawaii. You look Samoan/Tongan to me, so not surprised. 👍😃 I did 23&Me. It shows me as American Samoan, Tongan, Fijian, and then mainly Chinese & Portuguese. My mix is actually pretty common for Hawaii
I need to take a Dna test i know im papuan as my mom is from Papua New Guinea and my dad is african american
Great video I’m anxiously waiting for my results lol
the wait is the worst part! hopefully it comes soon 🤩
Im from philippines and i did ancestry too. I have 32% tongan samoan. 😊
Ooga booga
I saw a video of a guy from the Philippines with similar results. We was 39% Polynesian and the rest was East Asian.
We are Austronesian
Cause you all came from there
Which dna test did you do?
I knew it Coach! 🙌🏽🇹🇴🇼🇸
teach me how to tokouso 😂
Interesting isn’t it even though I’m part Māori and Tongan Samoan and French Polynesian and from Cook Islands and was born in Australia and have British and Irish heritage
You are beautiful and so are your results!
as are you 🥰 thanks for watching!
@@VikaKaaihue thank u
I knew straight away that you would be Tongan/Samoan. I’m from NZ so I’ve grown up around your culture and people for my whole life. Even though Maori are the native people here there’s still a huge Samoan and Tongan cultural presents here.
You guys are such beautiful people with such an amazing culture, family is everything to people who live in the islands. 💕
What's ur results? 97% British 3% German?
Maori are not the native people there it was the mori ori that were killed off by maori and maori have only been on new Zealand for few hundred years a little before the Europeans arrived
@@kaboom6157 she hates her own race
@@st4r444 well it's not difficult to be anti-white once in a while when you see how awful they are tbh
Knew a few Johanssons of Tongan Swedish ancestry. Big family. Cool video, thanks for sharing
Ayeeeeee I always knew I could be related to my fav Tuiketei sisters 😍😂
yaaassss!!!
Oh yeah!!! 🇹🇴🇼🇸🇦🇸
Yassss ❤️❤️❤️
I thought you were Polynesian! Samoan to be exact! Ancestry DNA is great for records, but I found Genomelink and GEDmatch were the best to give you the breakdown of a person's DNA. I was around 30% North European, 30-40% Southern European, 15% East European, 5% Asian(East Asian) and 10% other which would have been Arctic and/or Native American. There was so much mixing with the British, French, Dutch, German, and Scandinavian it was impossible to be exactly what I was but interesting to know. We also knew there was some Native American too and this is where the East Asian comes from.
What's with you Polynesians wanting to be native american? Other doesn't mean native american. Other could be African, Australian. Native american would be you have north or eurasian background with you clearly don't.
This person you responded to isn’t even Polynesian… they listed out their entire DNA and not once listed Polynesian DNA. Aint no Polynesians trying to be Native American for free. Stop reaching and projecting.
The British couldn't keep their pants on!
true, and getting a male, a brother, father or uncle to do the DNA test is even more exhaustive.
btw, you are beautiful - Tongans and Samoans were originally the same admixture, until much later. So we are the same people. I am mostly Samoan with a little Tongan as well (and many other little admixtures, that i'm sure the same DNA place won't bother properly searching for). i view them as one people - one Love. I favorite all our Polynesian extensive islands and people. We are the best AS FAR as i'm concerned lol I always tell people i have the best genetics lmao My children are Part Maori, my first grandchild is going to be Maori, Tongan, Samoa and i love that the most about him.
Polynesian people are gorgeous and cool as hell
Thank you! :)

The Swede was your grandfather's grandfather's grandfather. (great-great-great-great grandfather)
That's not that long ago.
Around the time when Europeans discovered the Pacific Islands.
About 150 years ago (1875 or so)
If you are able to hire someone to dig back into your DNA history, you could
probably find-out exactly who he was.
(I'm sure it was a man, because European women didn't go on those
long sea voyages, and when the men arrived, they were ready for a woman😐)
Thanks for sharing
Frr lol
Just wondering why my kit had an Ireland return address? I just sent mine back today, form Canada.
Being half Tongan, my results were also surprising. Always thought my Dad was Aussie/English, however, have come to learn I am 40% Scottish, 30% Tongan, 10% Samoan, 10% English and 10%German. 😆
Keep on dreaming.....
@@deckiedeckie 😂😂😂
Probably just Tongan or samoan
@@steveboy7302 are you racist?
Samoan Tongan lol
Samoan and Tongan are the same people...Tongans have a strong connection to the Fijian people.
ik aye if those two hailed from lapita the DNA will be the exact same..
@@boxcuber Tongans had cultural exchanges with the Melanesians of Fiji during Tongan expansion of its empire.
Somoans do more than Tonga
@@firstnationfall5451 Show evidence to support that claim? Both share the same genetic history.
@@boxcuber
The Lapita culture was "Melsnesian in origin and not Polynesian".
"Lapita pottery has long been held as the key to Polynesian colonization of the Eastern Pacific, despite there being no hard evidence to prove it. In fact the deeper one delves into the archaeology, chronology and gene trees of the Pacific one finds that there is no connection whatsoever between Polynesian and Lapita culture. The following article outlines many of these discrepancies. In fact it is quite embarrassing how poorly the scientists have interpreted the facts.
Lapita pottery is a finely decorated (dentate stamped) coil built, low fired pottery commonly found in archaeological sites in the Western Pacific. The earliest Lapita sites are in the Bismark Archipelago and are dated at 3,900 years BP. The Lapita culture does not predate the arrival of Melanesians, who have lived in New Guinea and it's surrounding Islands for over 40,000 years. Lapita pottery is commonly found in coastal locations on the Islands of New Guinea, Vanuatu, Solomons, New Caledonia, Fiji, Samoa and Tonga. The Lapita people are believed to have spread eastwards and colonized Fiji, Samoa and Tonga ~3,500 years ago which predates the arrival of the Polynesian people in the Pacific by 1,300 years. Lapita pottery is common on most Melanesian islands and is often found associated with Melanesian deposits, but is not found amongst any Eastern Polynesian archaeological deposits in Hawai'i, Rapa Nui, Aoteoroa, Tahiti, Tuamotus, Raiatea, Raivavae or Rarotonga or any other Eastern Polynesian Islands. The archaeological assemblage on Melanesian Islands shows a gradual progression of design styles which merged with classic Melanesian designs such as Mangassi and Naviti styles, marking the end of the Lapita culture in the archaeological record at about 420BC "
I just when watch your thing i thought you was Hawaiian. I know alot of Kaaihue family from Hawai’i. Thats cool sista i thinking about trying that dna ancestry thing too haha
Kaaihue is my married name. My husband is Hawaiian. 😊
My mother and father are both 100% irish and I got 25% polish, 50% irish, 10% Italian 10% Spanish and 5% Chinese
So just white

@@Zorak1 ok
Who's your daddy?
Tonga N Samoa are family bloodline 100
Your literally full blooded tongan n samoan wow
it's best to follow the male's in the family's Y-Chromosone DNA for more accuracies. Those DNA are so bogus for females :( also, look up a few questions you should expect from ancestral DNA tests and ask them for those type of testings. I have seen the same video you described and i just thought they were a blinkin rip off test and that that wasn't a thorough representative of their many admixtures (just a biased result). Besides, Polynesians are the BEST DNA lol hehe When you learn about our people's historical accomplishments even before hitting Polynesia, you'll appreciate it more. Even our ancestors accomplishments in ancient Polynesia before colonization were too innumerable, fascinating and incredible as well. Thanks for sharing your results. I like that Swedish percentage popping up too :)
Here is a more informative breakdown of our (Samoan) Major DNA autosomal variants. This was a recent DNA (2020) study called: *Evolutionary history of modern Samoans*. I'm linking both the study below and the map of which gives the different nations by which our Samoan DNA are composed of. There are many more variants, but these are the major ones. On the map, you will see:
AUA = Apia Urban Areas
NWU = North West Upolu
ROU = Rest of Upolu
SAV = Savai’i
This is the link of the map of the nations that make up the major variants of Samoan DNA that the DNA test failed to give you specifics for. It excludes the more obvious "Samoan and Polynesian" DNA connection: www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.1913157117?fbclid=IwAR3f3OgrO2ITb5GC4u-5cLfoP-o6m7LJbh-PcNpMFNJ-GKS3JcBhIeXbHV4#fig01
The study often mentions Tonga and that we are very similar in our modern DNA composition, but i'm sure you can find other studies which are more specific to Tongan samplings.
Polynesians are related to Fijians.
Polynesians have Papuan ancestors.
No we don't lol
@@mrfin02 Yes they do.
Polynesians share y-DNA and mt-DNA with Papuans.
@@mrfin02 he's right. I'm surprised that you're Polynesian and don't know this
@@genealogy.digger I've checked my dna test and the results didn't show any Melanesian admixture. But had alot of Asian and scandanavian? Lol which was weird asf lol. And I'm the most Chinese looking poly guy you'd see lol
@@mrfin02 the origins of Polynesians are seafarers from SE Asia and Papuans. If you tested at Ancestry, it will only show up as Polynesian because Papuan blood in Polynesians is very old. Melanesian will only show up on Ancestry if you had recent links there.
You are 99% Polynesian, and that my Dear, is very good!
❤️
I love the nose.
Im samoan and i did mines.... Turns out im more Tongan and Fijian than i am Samoan. 😮

Yeah they seem to add things they don't make sense like 1% Swedish I'm guessing they just add anything they want and you can't dispute it
idk about that, I didnt know I was Swedish/Danish but it came up as 10% but it could also be from the german people who lived there because Ive heard that I am German
I'm mexican and also got 1% Swedish 😂
where does these european DNA come from?
Guess....🙄
@@firstnationfall5451 tongans never mingled with white people it’s a known fact here but every tongan I’m seeing has european dna yet we Tongans could name our family line all the way to 17 century
@@boxcuber
Hi Dear. Did I say you mixed with whites????? I didn't say that however we must remember that a few early missionaries and whites who came there did sleep around with Tongan women several generations back. So that is a viable reason why this Tongan woman probably had some Minute European ancestry even though she is strongly Tongan. My son has a European ancestor from his Father's Maternal line. I did the research and found that he was an American Traitor of Scottish to the Britsh who had some of his family hanged and was run off into Canada had a bounty on his name. He then sneaked back into America with his sister made his way to Massachusetts where they had whaling ships, Changed part of his name and went to Australia from there got in a vessel and went to Fiji in the early 1800's took two Black Melanesian wives. My son is a direct descendant of that Union. His father freaked out and said yes they had villages of Halfcaste that was in his mothers line but refuse to acknowledge any relations to that white man. LOLOLOLOL. Honestly our ancestors were not always perfect. So I am sure it pops up in our DNA for a reason.
@@firstnationfall5451 so now every single tongan has european dna? Cause I can’t find a full POLYNESIAN tongan with dna
@@boxcuber
Hi. I never said that! I said if there were any that is probably how it got there. Yes you are right not many have European DNA. Many of my son's matches who were Somoan had no European DNA. The ones that did it was very recent. Based on that I will conclude that there was no Large scale mixing or hardly any mixing with Europeans. However As we know the islanders did travel from island to island mixing with others. Whose not to say one of them didn't carry a smidgen of European dna that found its way to the young lady in the video. Here's an example of a Polynesian Somoan with half Swedish Ancestry:
Nelson was born on 24 February 1883 in Safune on the island of Savai'i to Swedish trader August Nelson and his Samoan wife, Sina Tugaga, whose family had links to the Sa Tupua, a prominent chiefly family.[2] His name Ta'isi is a matai chief title from his mother's family from the Savai'i village of Asau.
Note There was a Swedish Trader. There. This DNA could have filtered over into another Island. So anything is possible. Many Tongans, Somoans and Melanesians are marrying whites in recent generations.
Soooo, you are a 1% IKEA stake holder?
I wish I could afford to do this. I want to know how much Chamorro I really have in me
ho ka'aihue we might be cousins through da maui lines

I respect the people from the Islands and I know that you guys are your own people, just like the dna results stated. I just get mad when people on youtube make video claiming that the original people from the islands are black folks. I know it’s all bs & they’re confused but it just upsets me for they are trying to take credit for another culture, heritage, etc.
No they’re not , I think they happy from being related to them , like it's a pride , black people do not claims Polynesian culture's as theirs .
They just admire Polynesians.
I can see the Swedish in you. Joke
You are so skinny. Are you on special diet?
Yup. As I thought. No substantial native american and yet every Polynesians Say they are native american
Interesting! I don’t think I’ve ever heard a Polynesian say they’re Native American.
Umm say what now?! This is new! Who on earth are those particular Poly’s saying that?? We clearly know damn well they’re both different!
No Polynesian has ever said that..
