- Who, oh who will save us all from Mary Poppins - seen here in blackface, mocking the indigenous Hottentots, when the approved dialog should have read, “people will think we’re a bunch of Khoekhoe, the indigenous nomadic pastoralists in South Africa.” There are no ‘Hottentots’ to protest the use of the word Hottentot, but there ARE Progressives, people whose lifestyle can best be summed up as “ashamed of nothing and offended by everything.”

Eventually the warning will be "White people in lead roles".
Thanks
I was going to say that I would be happy to see warnings like that. It would be a good signal that the content inside the movie is rotten.
However, I see and buy so few movies now that it wouldn't really impact me. I assume every movie is filled with propagandistic garbage and avoid them all with rare exceptions.
Google's AI has proven that they find the very existence of White people to be offensive.
When everything is "racist" the cold hard truth is that nothing is...
Except those who claim everyone else is. Always gotta deflect
I have been spending the past 5 years buying and digitizing my media collection to protect myself from all of this!!!!!!
Indeed. SAVE them before they get edited ! You do know Amazon does that with books ...right ?
Smart. I have become more and more a fan of physical media for this reason. Unfortunately physical objects get scratched, torn, water damaged, etc.
I do like the Amazon digital book updates whenever an author wants to correct typos and grammar. I don't support it for anything else. Unfortunately, we can't trust the powers in charge to only use their powers for good.
@@NoelFallstromPhysical media getting scratched or damaged is exactly why I digitize my library! I have the physical copy as backup and create a digital copy for viewing.
Reported!
I've been doing it for longer.
This is why you buy physical media.
The cowardly lion asked "What makes the hottentots so hot? What puts the ape in apricot? What do they got that I ain't got?" To which they answered "Courage!"
"Scott Ott's Hotter Tots" - the SPICY variety!
Because of Mary Poppins, I thought that "tuppance" was a type of bird food. Only later did I learn that "two pence" is a price.
Benny Hill was the toy maker in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
"The reek of Britishness" is Scott's best line ever!
I wonder what their thoughts are about Blazing Saddles....
Liberal women... enough said.
"Scott Otts Hot N Tots"
Me: laughing and cussing as I now have to wipe all the tea I spit on my PC monitor and keyboard off!!!!!!
well, they will go after huffelumps and woozles next....
Don't forget Mary Poppins evil son "CORNPOP"!
He was a bad dude.
🌽Cornpoppins!🍿
😆
That was Scary Poppins our Speech Zar!😳
A chimmey sweep was a tough dirty and neccecary profession in the period "Mary Poppins" took place.I was lucky to have seen it in its first release in 1964. The other thing is that people who were not even born yet or had any career in Hollywood spouted off what a despicable human being Walt Disney was. A well-known antisemite according to some people who was not even born when Walt died. The Shulman Brothers that wrote a good deal of the music for the Post War Disney movies and was loyal to Walt till he died. Richard B. would not have stayed if that was the case. Just lible coming from people who will never get called on it or even pay a price. Feed the Birds will be in my head for the next few months. Mary Poppins is a crowning achievement of Walt's storied career. And that pisses the left off to no end.
The Left has hated Walt since he freed the artist from the Communist that was running their union.
Look that incident up.
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious if you say it loud enough you'll always sound atrocious
The more they lean in on this foolishness, the less interested I am in anything new.
I guess they'll come for The Wizard of Oz next, since the Cowardly Lion poses the question "what makes the Hotttentot so hot?".
No....they can't give it a rest. They truly truly can't.
First time I heard the word Hottentots was during the cowardly lion's song (what makes the Hottentots so hot - courage). That will be their next target.
"What makes the Hottentot so hot? Courage! What puts the ape in apricot? What have they got that I ain't got?"
"Courage."
"You can say that again."
Well, there goes another American classic into the hellhole of PG ratings.
Thanks for the new Daily Wire series!!! I'm so pumped!
Scott Ott's Hot-n-Tots!
I saw "Mary Poppins" when it was first released to theaters. This hew and cry is well beyond ridiculous!! 🤨
If I had a penny for all of the incorrigible racists I’ve seen made by Mary Poppins… I’d still be poor!
Building, learning, creating is hard. Getting offended is easy. High achivers do not always take the path of least resistence.
“ We’re better than they.” - Predicate Nominative.
I have always liked Mary Poppins. The dance numbers are terrific and you couldn’t watch two more decent people than Julie Andrew’s and Dick Van Dyke. Cute movie. There are times I feel we should separate ourselves from the lunatics in our country.
Mary Poppins is perhaps the greatest of the disney live action classics.
Best movie ever. Especially the tea party.😅
I have not see such a sight on this side of the Firmament since greener acres.
This is why I canceled streaming and buy dvd/blu ray.
The time period of England this movie took place had more than a few white people living there. In fact they were indigenous Brits.
Mary Poppins is a Time Lord!
The strong have virtue. The weak virtue signals.
The same thing happened to, "Treasure Island," around 2005. Was rated G. Now rated PG because of violence or something.
My parents were in London and got off the underground at the wrong station. They asked directions to their hotel and the man that helped them was a 6 ft 10 black cockney with a deep accent just like Dick Van Dike. The accent is alive but its very local, the Bow Bells area, and the racial mix of the population speaking it are all colours now. The dialect is a mix of Essex, Yiddish, Romani and a few Portuguese dock slang words.
Wizard of Oz is next - "hottentot" is there, too.
Nice to see Mr. Ott has such a close relationship with his cat.....😊
I used to do blackface every October. Can't do it now. Laurel and Hardy... and Al Jolson did it too !!!! :)
It worked for Justin Trudeau and Jimmy Kimmel.
And most people don't have a single clue as to WHY Jolson did it.
Well I think that Dick van Dyke should apologize to the Tater Tots or something.
Not only Mary Poppins, but the Little Drummer Boy Christmas Cartoon
I'd buy Scott Ott's "Hot N Tots," but only the jalapeño ones.
Smoking? Life is simply weighing risks. When you're probably going to die on your next mission, you care little about theoretical hazards.
“What made the ‘ot-n-tots so ‘ot? Courage!” The Cowardly Lion must be canceled!
Say no to "lionface"!!!
Mary Popins also has a whole song about cutting drugs to make them better....shameful
Nah, that's normal now.
Just a spoonful
That was sugar😂
That's not in the original; it's only in the Portland, Oregon version.
Sorry, Scott . . .
Chitty-Chitty Bang-Bang mentions the “Fuzzy-Wuzzys”.
Also, the car is not an EV.
It's a protected class movie.
You forget there is the Child Catcher and you know how the elite can't stand children.
😋🍭
Hottentot was never a derogatory term. It is short for the German word hottentotten which means a stutter, click or sound-type speech. It was used to describe the Khoihoi tribe of Africa bc of the "click-like" language they spoke.
To identify or say you may be mistaken for one of a group of people by virtue of a characteristic, is much like saying... "you have eyes like an Asian." It's not racist or cruel, it's just making a visual comparison.
People really need to get off the stupid train! Not everything is meant to be offensive.
"I've got that wreak too!" You win the internet.
Surely, "The Wizard of Oz" is next.
right, the Cowardly Lion (Bert Lahr) sang "who put the Hot in Hotten Tot" when he got the "crown"
When my kids were little I was going through old storybooks that my mom had brought over and among them I found a golden book with Mary Poppins in it that was incredibly racist by modern standards. Mary Poppins takes the two kids, Jane and her brother on a journey around the world. They visit different countries and cultures the world around and play with children in those lands. They visit Africa where the African mother actually declares the kids are too pale and says that Mary Poppins should put some shoe polish on them. In America they play with Indian children running through the trees. In China they bow like an old meet there. The intent of the story was obviously to introduce children to families and children from other lands. In the era the book was written, it is actually quite respectful in that Mary is well-regarded by everyone she meets and everyone is happy to greet the children, but the 'stereotype' aspect of the people they meet would be horrendous today.
I could not find any images of this book online and I'm tempted to try to preserve it since it's a relic from another time and amuses me.
When Emily Blunt was being interviewed about the making of "Mary Poppins Returns" a few years ago, she said that most people today would be shocked by how perverse the original books were.
@@stevensiferd7104 You forgot to add "by modern standards" -- the same "modern standard" that includes school library books teaching pre-pubescent children how to perform fellatio and engage in sodomy.
Glad I bought my Charlie Brown delux collection. I hear they are going to 'correct' the "problematic" parts in the Peanunt.😔
Thank goodness they finally went back 60 years and changed the rating on Mary Poppins, they saved humanity!?! When are they going to cancel The Sound of Music so that “those that shall not be named” won’t get offended.
Yup, I had to go look up what the hell a Hottenton was. KhoeKhoe people of S. Africa.
no one tell Doomcock he'll blow a gasket!

So excited for a new season of what we saw!
Quite disappointed the episodes are trickling out. (I know it’s not your call)😊
My question is "What took the woke so long to make a decision on Mary Poppins movie?"
"Blazing Saddles", dudes. So, Mary Poppins was released in 1964. I was not quite 4 years old when we went to the drive-in and watched Walt Disney's masterpiece. One month later we went to the drive-in and watched "Goldfinger". Also that year, we watched "7 Faces of Dr. Lao", with Tony Randall playing multiple roles including the titular Chinese man. I still remember thinking that that was a very long movie, but not long after we watched "The Three Lives of Thomasina", which seemed to last forever. I think the last movie we went to see in a theater or drive-in that year was "The Incredible Mr. Limpet"
Actually, I think it was Admiral Boom who used the term Hottentots when he saw the chimney sweeps dancing on the Banks's house.
My favorite part of _Mary Poppins_ is how the parents describe these polite, well-spoken, well-dressed, punctual, obedient, quiet, organized children as absolute hellians that have driven their parents to the brink.
We saw a live performance of _Mary Poppins_ recently and I pointed out to my kids how good these children are, how clean their rooms are, how neatly their beds are made, etc, and told them, "see, even _terrible_ children act and live like _that_ ." I don't know how well it landed since my kids are 4 and 2, but still
Warnings that have no meaning are ignored. All my life, I've ignored movie warning and my child turned out just fine,
The word also comes up in "The Wizard of Oz." That might get a pass, tho, because nothing in context hints at what it means.
Scott Ott's Hot'N'Tots. Delish!
On one level, I can understand not having smoking in a WWII movie made today -- because then you'd either have to have actors smoking tobacco, or have them smoking herbal cigarettes (like in X-Files), but at some point, it just makes sense not to be bothered -- on another level, however, Disney's 101 Dalmations has a warning that it depicts smoking (and it also depicts a woman wanting to make a coat out of the skins of puppies, but yeah, smoking).
At what point do we just let the past be the past? Why do we need to put warning labels on every little thing? And even when you don't actually depict WWII soldiers *always* smoking, why not at least have them trade cigarettes, and light one off every once in a while, or even just have a cigarette smolder at the table?
(And I say this as someone who wants to say "Not everyone smoked in WWII! My Grandpa was a gunner on a bomber, and he was a Latter-day Saint!" but that's really the exception that proves the rule!)
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
"He man, Master of the Universe" A white male being the Master of the whole universe? My son must have watched it 1,000 times on VHS back in the day. Please.... Totally ban it.
Woohoo I caught another episode..!
Where can I get Scott Ott's Hottentots?
Bill, if you're out there listening, you HAVE to do a commentary video about gamers exposing Sweet Baby Inc. The backlash has been epic and is just getting started. Now similar "consulting" companies are being exposed, as is their connection to Black Rock.
Would love to hear your input.
So "The Wizard of Oz" will be next? "What makes the hotentots so hot? Whadda they got that I ain't got?"
The last couple videos I've watched, Scott really is the man of the people. Bill and Steve are as well, but Scott is a pastor and working at his local grocery store.... I think. Working at a grocery store is an incredibly difficult.
Love you guys
I Love to Laugh thanks guys
I hated Mary Poppins movie. I hated "Family" movies, except maybe In Search Of the Castaways. (Hailey Mills didn't hurt) I was more into Lawrence of Arabia, Fantastic Voyage, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Robinson Caruso on Mars during that time period as a kid. The POW 2001: A Space Odyssey,
When can we buy these Steve otts hot and tots. Jalapeño cheddar tater tots sounds delicious.
“Hottentots” do still exist. A more common name for them would be the Khoi people. They still do exist in South-Africa and Namibia.
It’s spelled supercalafragalisticepstiendidntkillhimself
It is entirely reasonable to evaluate anyone and everyone, from any and every period in history; through the lens of contemporary sociopolitical mores. Of course, the entire sociopolitical spectrum has license to make these evaluations, because "we" wouldn't want to be non-inclusive. Naturally, this means there is no one, in any period of history, whom anyone could possibly consider 'acceptable"; because someone, somewhere will dislike absolutely anything anyone ever said/did; but the alternative is to imagine that those sociopolitical mores evolve and reasonable people can make allowances for that. Who could possibly want that?
Offense is taken, not given. FOlks need to grow a thicker skin and get over it
I wonder how liberal Dick Van-Dyke feels about this? Think it's enough to red-pill him?
Well according to Gemini AI Mary Poppins Bert and the children were all black right? Or maybe the kids were Asian, you know, cuz they're short . oh no, now they're heightists!
