I didn't realize Lowes owns the Kobalt tool brand & is made by J.H. Williams Tool Group (which also make Snap-On tools). Yes I research Everything in depth. Great video David!
I own many 24v kobalt tools they are great for my motorcycle shop. Also a few ryobi for yard work and what not. Both great, but i find myself always reaching for kobalt. Plus the battery cost is more fair for kobalt i feel.
yea kobalt 24v batteries are absolute beasts for the price, built VERY well, great material, thick and take a beating, the materials used on kobalt 24v are great, I also own their 40v yard things but those aren't built as well but their built well
Have both brands in full size recip, will not by another Ryobi in that form, kobalt still working but sounds like a bearing is ready to fail. neither is a yr old , the Ryobi will be thrown in a bucket with three others that quit working, just got the one handed version of the Ryobi, will. See how long it holds up.
I have the German Metabo (not HPT) version of this tool as well as the m12 Fuel. The German Metabo has a much better grip and is quite powerful for my needs. Great for pruning branches or heavier duty tasks if needed. Both of these seem nice as well. I have one Ryobi battery but I can't justify a 3rd one handed saw.
I think Kobalt is underrated. there a lot better tools then most people give them credit for. The Ryobi HP continues to be unimpressive. I think a great comparo would be the Ryobi HP against Dewalt 12v extreme. I'm pretty sure the Ryobi would get smoked by Milwaukie 12v Fuel. Great video.
Very impressive from Kobalt! I was certain the Ryobi HP was going to crush it like it did the Dewalt Atomic. My guess was there’d be a need for an XTR version to compete with the HP. Can you bring the Fuel & Flex into the mix?
Im a milwaukee/Dewalt user and i cant say anything bad about ryobi or kolbalt. I sold all my ryobi when i went milwaukee. I still have some kolbalt that i have abused the hell out of and they hold up great
Even though both tools did the job, the Ryobi is causing a lot more vibration, lot of stuff moving around on your workbench.. Didn’t see that with the Kobalt .
Please put the battery on after you put the blade on. Safer that way If you put the battery on and then the blade on, you run the risk of the saw starting and cutting your hand.
Those saws were not designed to cut big blocks of wood , as you said , their made to cut small pipes , conduit , and small pieces of wood that are in tight areas like under a sink , so they do have their place , but me personally , I have no use for them ...
That stroke length on the Kobalt is something else, definitely makes it hard to beat. I agree that Kobalt is underrated, but I dislike Lowes quite a bit. Ryobi HP series is definitely stepping up the game, but not everything in the line up is something to right home about. I've got my Milwaukee fuel stuff sitting right here in front of me, but there are still 3 Ryobi tools in sight.
@@ManCaverTools I believe pro tools review made a head to head. Kobalt has some tools that made it to the top 5, but the brand has often being looked at as just one of those unreliable or easy to break. I looked at the reviews as it’s usually just a few people that has had issues with Kobalt like any other brands. All I know, the recip and multi tool are actually one of the fastest, while their impacts are one of the torquiest there is just like the Ridgid
Then your results are going to be skewed. Your going to say the Milwaukee is better than Kobalt but you used a brand new blade for one and a used blade for the other. If you can't afford to use a new blade for each head to head then you shouldn't be doing these tests.
@@ajmedeiros77 let me tell u this when it come to a reciprocating saw I state that #1 Milwaukee, #2 Dew-alt , #3 metabo, #4 kobalt, rigid, ryobi, #5 craftsman

Kobalt is so underrated. I blame Lowe's for doing a poor job promoting.
@@smarksruinedwrestling5020 yep, keeps them cheap and innovative
I agree with you on that.
And now with the xtr lineup they’ve moved up even further! They need more xtr tools and more tools in general. Love all my kobalt tools
@@smarksruinedwrestling5020 No because they need to make more money to expand their line and ensure the battery support lasts.
For me it comes down to Kobalt being an OEM product. Manufactured by chervon, makes a lot of good, popular brands, but impossible to buy parts for em.
stroke length matters as well. ryobi is 5/8” while the kobalt is 1”. each stroke gets you further with the kobalt even at the same spm
I forgot to say that and thank you

I thank you for the info bro :)
Kobalt Power Tools are manufactured by Chevon.
Chervon
And I thought kobalt was not that good you made me change my mind let me get a kobalt thanks bro great job you are doing
I thank you Jaime
What is the name of the Ryobi blower you used at 8:21 please?
What was the vibration like with the Kobalt?
its not bad, single handed recip to vibrate but its a benefit to have a smaller saw that can chop through material with ease
Kobalt is a beast of a saw as long as you don't get one that burns up like Vince did. :)
lol
Man U got a lot of tools more than any man can use
its all for the channel :)

I agree with you on that Medic
wonder if you could look into doing some Hercules/Bauer videos. See if they stack up to the tools they are compared against in the ads
I plan on getting that in the future
Great job.👍👍

The new Kobalt XTR recip saw is an absolute beast. It has an orbiting setting that makes short work of wood. It also has comparatively low vibration.
Excellent video BTW

Can you bring the Fuel & Flex into the mix?
Do they weigh the same?
You forgot nails in the 4x6 when cutting with ryobi. Enjoyed the video.
the video was getting long so I didnt use some footage
Another Great Video
I thank you Luxury
I don't have a Ryobi recip saw but I do have a Milwaukee M18 brush, M12 brush, M12 Fuel, DeWalt Xtreme 12 volt brushless, & Kobalt brushless.
very good and I thank you for viewing war
@@ManCaverTools I like these types of videos. The Kobalt is also my favorite recip saw out of the bunch that I have.

That would be cool too see. While the m12 would be the underdog it would be interesting to see how far behind it is.
I can actually
Can you try the Milwaukee fuel vs Milwaukee brushed hackzall ?
Once I get the brushed one I can
Brushless one is a beast! I have the 12m brushless and wow

Kobalt is too impressive and awesome👍 Is the saw has nails , it is more appropriate to use a saw from the Makita !!!
I will be getting Makita as well
The blades may have appeared to be equally used by the eye but one may be worn more than the other.

i dont think those blades were "equally" used
Kobalt are pretty good tools, they get no respect.
I think they need more respect as well. I don't think its Kobalt. I think its where they are bought. Lowes doesn't have as much respect as Home depot
Most of the people who buy these compact saws is for plumbing trade , pvc , pex , copper pipe
Kobalt outperforms Ryobi almost commensurately with its voltage advantage. Monstrous power.
It’s not just the voltage. You can make a 18 volt tool stronger than a 24 volt.
i recently bought a ryobi one and i can tell you that is not that good. I tried it out several times it has trouble to cut
I had no problem using it and Ive done other videos on this and another video on the single handle recip saws are coming
Keep in mind kobalt even beat out m18 hackzal in terms of performance or cutting speed
I gotta get the m18 as well and thank you for viewing Toolgamer

Ryobi is better the reason that kobalt get faster is because of 6 v faster would be fair if Ryobi has 4ah and kobalt has 2 amp
