Thank you for the informative video. I've been diagnosed with this condition. If you can recommend a dermatologist in Gold Coast or in Brisbane, it would be appreciated. Thank you again.

I developed alopecia areata ophiasis almost 2 years ago. I also have Crohn’s disease and take Stelara. For this reason I am unable to take a jak inhibitor. I have had steroid injections, am taking sulfasalazine, and using a topical jak inhibitor with no results and even more/larger areas of AA. Do you have any suggestions on what else I can do?

I have this and I lost my eyebrows and it was devouring my hair up top starting in my early 50’s. What I got from the dermatologist restored my eyebrows and controlled my scalp, but it comes and goes. I was told it can come from hay fever and I do suffer from seasonal allergies that are bad enough, it can trigger an asthma attack. I do get allergy shots. I wonder if that’ll stop the alopecia too.

I've been suffering with AA for the past 7 years. My body responds to PRP injections 100%. The cortisone shots had minimal impact/growth.

my derm recently diagnosed me with alopecia areata after being told and thinking it was androgenic for 15+ years...interestingly I remember getting tests done as a kid and I have an allergy to dust mites too

The dust mites are a very interesting theory. My hair has started dropping out qat the same time the dogs are all scratching. Too much of a coincidence?

i was on finasteride for 2 years and i started getting alopecia barbae. started with one small patch after 14 months of using the medication. after 22 months i had a total of 6 spots on my face that had very little sign of regrowth. i then decided to stop taking finasteride and i have been off of it for almost a year now. all of my face hair is back, just some hairs are a little shorter then others, and i would say about 30% of my face hairs have lost most of its pigmentation.

Hello Dr, would you say it’s safe to use a dry sauna 3 weeks after a transplant?
Thank you for this continued content, it’s been integral to my hair loss strategy.

i moved countries 4 years ago and i started losing hair in a round patch once a year. it grows back in about 6 months. when i first moved, the air pollution was hard for me to breath and my room felt dusty. i got tested and had allergies to dust. stress also triggers it and taking supplements helped (biotin, fish oil, zinc and vitamin d)

Can alopecia areata manifest itself in diffuse thinning instead of patches?
