What type of paddle do you use?
I had a chance to speak with Chris from BP, such a nice guy, I ended up going with a second/blem Hydro flow x, Chris told me it will be a brand new blade and handle, the blem portion will be some shafts that the lettering wasn't sticking well and they removed it with acetone, he said it will have a better grip without the lettering, but basically a new paddle, I am excited to get my hands on it and just saw it arrives this Friday, I know what I am doing this weekend. My first race paddle for my new/used race board. Chris is such a nice guy, who takes time with anyone who calls him, that alone should make anyone want to paddle on his awesome products. I will most likely grab a QB T2 85 in the near future, but I sure as hell haven't found QB to be as easy to contact and get much help with info about their products.
Thanks for sharing Richard and enjoy your new paddle! 😃
Cant believe the price but glad I found one on sale for less than $500. Coming from Starboard Enduro this paddle is even better.
I use the quickblade t2 85. I had a BP hydro a few years ago and loved it. I tried the hydro x you have reviewed, but I found it very difficult to adjust to after the qb. The qb is smoother in the catch and allows for a gentler transmission of power. The hydro x has that big scoop on it that gives you instant grab and the need to transfer power really fast. I think I'm too old for it, and find the t2 powerful but friendly!
Such great insights. I have yet to try one of their paddles out yet, but can see how it would differ in those areas like you said due to its design. Super interesting and thanks for sharing! 🤙🏼
Could you make a comparison with the starboard Lima paddle?
Hoping to do this soon. 😃
