I love that mushroom valley zone is literally just a bunch of garbage tiles lol. Side note: the bass for mushroom valley is way more intense than in the final version
I just can't believe how broken mushroom was in it's early development, it's obviously unfinished

I think mushroom hill zone takes ages to make because of in classic sonic simulator on roblox mushroom hill zone wasn’t finished for 3 years and it’s still getting finished now in 13v
It was already being ported out to save cartridge space. This prototype was from when Sonic 3 was decided to be a standalone release, so there are likely earlier versions which include more of the Sonic and Knuckles stages, though it could also be a case of stage order changing.

Mushroom valley and most other s&k zones are just garbage data at this point this video shows what they could have looked like before being scrapped lava reef has some leftover map data from an older build it also as pallets for both acts (despite act 2 not using its pallet) while mushroom valley has left over palette data that it also doesn’t use
The echo in Flying Battery, good fucking god.
Final sonic 3 also has that desync (and occurs before Ice Cap's music). They should've kept it in, it's actually a very small map compared to any of the previous levels, especially Carnival Night & Marble Garden.
It's very interesting how out of all the zones Flying Battery still shares a lot of its original layout. This goes to show how last minute they decided to stop working on it. If they'd cleared all the other leftover data, this level could've been in the final build of Sonic 3 (part 1)
I love how flying battery act 1 becomes more of a garbled mess as it goes on

самое странное, эти данные грибной долины явно не из этого прототипа, от уровня чего то стоящего осталась только палитра, но не целые куски карты
@@Sonichec0 То, что графика не из этого прототипа, а из прототипа 0408, это и ежу понятно (вопрос, кстати, исходил из слова "перенести графику", как бы намекая, что он перенёс в прототип графику, которая не сломалась при запуске).
@@user-xi9uj9mc5p иногда поговаривают что от данных уровня остаётся одна строка подтверждающая удаление уровня, скачаю дизассемблер да посмотрю где так откопали палитру что она сохранилась
@@user-xi9uj9mc5p кстати, жаль никто не собирался пересоздавать карту коллизий для LRZ первого акта, на втором акте каким то образом с этим всё в порядке ибо карта отличается и отзывается на коллизии правильно, но нет графики, кто конечно так похоронил целую зону, хотелось бы узнать, но никогда не узнаем.
@@Sonichec0 Потому что 19 ноября 2019 года просочились 2 варианта этого прототипа: оригинальный и с восстановленным первым актом Lava Reef. Оттуда по-сути перенесли только коолизии из прототипа 0408, ведь всё остальное уцелело при разделении игры. Второй акт в прототипе воссоздавался на основе графики и ассетов из Sonic & Knuckles, поскольку уцелел только макет, плюс второй акт воссоздали уже после того, как прототип просочился.

hello, this is unrelated to the video but how did you get the alternate april/mkart super mario kart prototype to work? I appended them and fixed the header but it doesn't boot.
as the rom1.data was empty i put the mkart parts to where it was missing

@@someguy0nthen3t yes, although I don't know how to send it private, but it's not difficult, just put what's missing in rom.data and put the ones from mkart.
(you can use YYCHR to make it easier)

You'd need to Hex edit the game , and have knowledge on hacking overall , sadly , I'm stupid so I don't know.
Although , I will like to try my hand at this.
