+Manag-Turk SLANTED-EYES I dont make any comment about their ethnic heritage! So far I know, Kazan-Tatars are ethnically descendants of the former Volga-Bulgars, which converted to Islam in the 9th century AD. I meet with them long time ago, and they told me that they are Bulgars in reality not Tatars! Maybe their ruling elites were of Kipchak speaking Tatars from the golden horde-Altin ordu! Just I said that Kazan-Tatars are good looking handsome people! Myself, Im of Khazar ethnic origin, but converted to Judaism in 740 AD together with the ruling elites under Bulan/Sabriel Khagan! After our empire with its capital Itil near the Volga river delta, at the Caspian sea, was destroyed by Svaytovslav the Rus prince from Kiew, we have been moved together with Magyars to establish the Hungarian kingdom! The first Hungarian king Arpad and his dynastie was himself of Khazar origin, closely related to the Bulgar Dulo dynastie and to Kubrat and Asparukh who founded Bulgaria in 681 AD!

Im not even Bulgar! Im a Jewish-Hungarian person, and my ancestors were those Khazars which converted under Bulan Khagan leadership to Judaism to shield themselves from other neighbouring alien people!

Volga Bulgaria (Tatar: Идел Болгар, Chuvash: Атӑлҫи Пӑлхар) or Volga-Kama Bulghar, was a historic Bulgar[2][3][4] state that existed between the 7th and 13th centuries around the confluence of the Volga and Kama River, in what is now European Russia. Volga Bulgaria was a multi-ethnic state with large numbers of Turkic Bulgars, a variety of Finnic and Ugric peoples, and many East Slavs.[5] The very strategic position of Volga Bulgaria allowed it to create a monopoly between the trade of Arabs, Norse and Avars.[6]

Bulgars (Turkic bulgha-'to mix, stir up, disturb', i.e. 'rebels') A Turkic tribal union of the Pontic steppes that gave rise to two important states: Danubian Balkan Bulgaria (First Bulgarian Empire, 681-1018) and Volga Bulgaria (early 10th century-1241). They derived from Oghuric-Turkic tribes, driven westward from Mongolia and south Siberia to the Pontic steppes in successive waves by turmoil associated with the Xiungnu and subsequently by warfare between the Rouran/Avar and northern Wei states. in Oliver Nicholson, The Oxford Dictionary of Late Antiquity, Oxford University Press, 2018, ISBN 0192562460, p. 271..

    • @turkempiregirl782
      @turkempiregirl782 6 лет назад +3

Борис Атанасов You know what is so funny about this general assumption that Central Asian Turks are “pure” (if purity in this world even exists)? The fact that they are not “pure”! Kazakhs have major Mongolian ancestry and the rest of Central Asians look nothing like the picture people have of Central Asians.
When people think of Central Asians, they think of people that look full on Chinese or Korean.. well sorry, but that is not what Uzbeks, Turkmen etc. look like at all. Look at Uzbeks, Turkmens, Uyghurs...
This is what Central Asian settlers to West Asia and Southeast Europe looked like.
So what now it turns out they do not look Chinese? Are these not “real Turks” either? Weren’t the only “real Turks” that looked East Asiatic the Central Asians or am I hallucinating?
The only reason Kazakhs, as I already pointed out, look more East Asiatic is that they have a lot of Mongolian admixture. The rest of the Turks do not look like Mongolians, Koreans, Chinese, Japanese or whatsoever because we are not them, but a seperate people; Turks.
Anyway, let’s get to the second general assumption: “Turks’ Central Asian ancestry is diluted due to the excessive amount of slaves in the Ottoman empire.”
I find it interesting since most Ottoman slaves came from Ukraine and Russia… and genetics studies show we have no genetic relationship to them.
Another source were the Circassians… and genetic studies show we do have a genetic relationship to them, but the relationship dates back to thousands of years ago due to the ancient Anatolians and is not related to Circassian slaves.
Syrians, same story as Circassians. The Ancient Anatolians were a mixture of three genetically different peoples: Anatolians that had migrated from the Caucasus, Anatolians that had migrated from the Balkan and Anatolians that had migrated from the northern Levant. Our genetic relationship dates back thousands of years ago and has nothing to do with slaves.
Many many Nubians were also enslaved, yet there is not a genetic relationship to them at all.
Barbary slavery? Why do people even think the Ottomans were responsible for that? Ottoman North Africa was relatively independent and ruled by regencies. Matter of fact, until 1830 69% of Ottoman Algeria was not even under practical Ottoman rule as the local tribes refused to obey the regencies, Deys, Beys, Ağas and Janissaries. The local and coastal North Africans absorbed some slaves and the rest died without producing any off-spring. Let me remind you: anticonception already existed back then!
By the way, the Barbary slave trade was actually not only perpetrated by Berbers, but also Dutch and English Christians and converts to Islam. Why? Because they (Protestants) wanted to attack Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and French villages (Catholic).
The only reason Turks are 20-50% descended from Turkmen is that the Christians of Anatolia converted to Islam and married the Turks. Most of these Christians, especially in the first four centuries of Turkish presence in West Asia and Southeast Europe, converted because they totally disliked the Byzantine empire that tried to assimilate all its minorities and was very corrupt. Matter of fact, many Christians remained Christian and joined the Turks because they, in contrary to the Byzantines, allowed them to retain and preserve their identity.
The Ottoman state is known to have started as a confederation of Muslim Warriors (Gâzi) and peasants looking for Holy War, and Christians as well as recent converts to Islam. Even royal Byzantine Greeks converted to Islam and joined the Turks! Examples are Köse Mihal, member of the Palaiologos dynasty. He converted to Islam and contributed to the development of the Ottoman state. John Tzelepes Komnenos was the nephew of the Byzantine emperor, he tried to overthrow him, failed and subsequently converted to Islam. In addition, he married the daughter of Seljuk Sultan Mesud I.
Ever wondered why Ottomans easily took over the Balkans? They faced little resistance. For example, Serbian peasants mostly did not assist their Lords in fighting the Ottomans because they had simply better lives under Ottoman rule. Serbs enforced the feudal system with Lords of noble descent that could not be punished, were allowed to exploit the peasants and impose limitless taxes. In the Ottoman empire this was not the case. There was the timar system, were “lords” had lmited rule, there was a strong centralized character, timar-holders could be punished if they abused their power and could not impose limitless taxes. In addition, Serbian serfs had to work 2 days a week under Serbian feudal rule, but only 3 days a year under Ottoman rule. Another thing : Christians did not have to serve the empire! They did not go to war thus never lost any male relatives to war. This is also the reason Christians were the richest group in the empire; they never lost cash earners.
During the later centuries of Ottoman rule, Christians converted to Islam because they could not afford the higher taxes which were a result of external as well as internal issues, or they wanted to inherit their family’s entire wealth (a convert to Islam would inherit his parents’ entire wealth after they died and not his Christian siblings) and some other reasons. In addition, others were proselytized and thus were convinced that Islam is the “only right” faith.
It is a wholly anti-Turkish and inaccurate assumption that we are descended from slaves that were raped by the Turks. Matter of fact, rape was an offence and punishable by death or mutilation and slaves had many rights. Please don’t think Ottoman slaves were treated the exact same way as those in the Americas, almost all of our empresses and statesmen were even of slave origin. And let’s also not forget that slaves were not only owned by Turks… but also other Muslims and Christians!
Anyway, why would I want to marry a Central Asian to “regain” their appearance?
Let me ask the question differently : Why don’t modern Europeans, Asians and Americans go and marry Ethiopians and other East Africans to regain the appearance of their ancestors that lived 200,000 years ago?
That’s a sufficient answer in itself.
      Are German people English?
      Are Spanish people French?
      Are Georgian peeople Armenian?
No. They are not. Turks are not Mongolian, Mongols are not Turkish etc. Yes, they were neighbors for a long time. They co-existed in Xiongnu, Turks were the "blacksmith vassals" of Xianbei and Rouran, however they are not the same.
Turk,Mongol and Tungus are the three nations of Central Asia. They share similar culture, similar in appearance (maybe except Manchu and Oghuz) but they are not the same.
Ebu'l Gazi Bakhadur Khan, a historian and a khan of Khiva in 17th century says, in his book Sagara-i Turki , that Abulca Khan of steppes had two sons. One was Tatar and one was Mogol. Descendants of Tatar became the Mongols and descendants of Mogol became the Turks.
Even though some igno’rant, or rather un’educated tr’olls often attempt to use the word “Mongol” as an insult material against the Turks around the internet, the Turks are not Mongols, and the Mongols are not Turks.
The Great Hunnic Empire was the first example of the Turco-Mongol political unity. There was a substantial amount of Mongol tribes inside the empire. Later, the Turco-Mongol state tradition and steppe culture continued to influence the European Huns, Göktürk State, and the Uyghur Khanate, as well as the Mongolian Empire after Ghengis Khan ensured the unity of tribes.
Since the Hunnic dominance until the rise of Ghengis, the Turks had been the winning party of the Turco-Mongol struggle. The dense waves of Mongol incursions forced many Turkoman tribes in Central Asia to join Ghengis’ army. In other words, the influence of Turk ethnos, culture and language increased, and expanded to many regions of the Middle East.
The Golden Horde (Kıpchak country and Western Siberia), Chagatai khanates, Transoxiana and East Turkistan completely evolved into Turco-Islamic states. Timurid Empire also preserved the Turco-Mongol tradition. In summary, the Mongol state tradition had originated from the old Turks, and reached to the Ottomans because of the Mongols as well.
Today, there are also many historical and cultural connections between Turkey and Mongolia. Valuable artifacts on the fields of archeology, philology and anthropology that enlightens the history of the Turks, including the Orkhon inscriptions, the most significant source for Turkish history, culture and language, are located in Mongolia. The Turks and Mongolians lived together in a vast geography for centuries.

Even today, still a lot of people in Kazan, pretending to be "Bulgars" they are missing something very important-- in your own national flag-- a big, clearly visible letter "T" standing for.....,yes,Tartars!!
      Or, maybe, Turks??🤫🤔
There is NO letter "T" in the word "Bulgar(ian)?!😂
Do you see any letter "T" in the name of my Country?😂🤯Not, at least for (almost) 1400 years!
What I'm is simply not your business-- I'm what I'm and I use the name "Bulgarian" with the highest amount of pride!
Until 15 years ago(or so) you simply called yourself "tartar" ,as anyone calling you with the same name for many centuries!?
But, all of sudden, with a lot of money from turkey you started to beat the "Bulgar" drum very loud!
Whoever (Bulgars) lived in Volga Bulgaria is gone long, LONG centuries ago!
Your great grandfather, the Mongolo/Tartarian Subibey and his horde slaughtered "Bulgars" and slowly substituted them with "tartarians" ,who proudly called themselves "turks" -- look at the Crimean Tartars how straight and honestly are saying "we are turks" ,skipping the theater and drama of trying to "pretend" to be "Bulgars" !At least they (the Crimean Tartars) have some honor and pride!Do you have any left?? Or just another pathetic example of lost national identity and social "schizophrenia"🤯 with the UNanswered fundamental question-- Who am I, the Kazan tartarian??🤔🤫
      Did I answer your question??😜
P.S. Look carefully, very carefully, at the picture of three girls in the beginning-- two "tartarian" "turk" faces are eye catching immediately (left and center),and the girl on the right is (at least) half Russian- look her wide open, nonasian eyes!👍
I know who I am very well-- the word "tribe" doesn't exist in my land for more than 1000 years-- the word "Nation" exists for many, many centuries-- how many other countries can say, and prove, the same??🤔🤫

      Thank you, my friend!
No, he is, just historically we struggled too much on the same land and same place and we've lost much of our awareness of others like us. You would understand... Remember that your first capital was Bulgar, with our ethnic name! Ours was Pliska, a Slavic city-name. Then Preslav -=- Slavic name too. There is an attempt to prove the name was not just Pliska, but the city was known as Pliska for centuries!

The Volga Bulgaria was overwhelmed by the Tatars, and they mixed with them - this video is for them. The Danube Bulgaria was overwhelmed by the Ottomans, but the Bulgarian people managed to keep their identity, and to liberate themselves, with the great help of Russia. Today's Bulgarians are nice mixture of Bulgarians, Slavs, and Tracians.

Ethnically, the Bulgars comprised Turkic and probably Scytho-Sarmatian elements.[2][3] They had enveloped also other ethnic groups by their migration westwards across Eurasian steppe.[4][5]

Its a western view, that have no idea about turkic traditions and the name of turkic peoples came from.
"Bulgar" its not the name of ancient people, but the name of confederation of turkic tribes - "bulgar" its mean "united" in turkic languages. The names of tribes are come from names of they rulers. In this case "bulgar" its not a name of tribe - its a name of united people of "ten tribes". Turkic name of "ten tribes" is a "on ok" - "on" its mean "ten" and "ok" its mean "civilization".

recent gene studies show the bulgarian genes to be close to peoples of Pamir region, distinct from turkic. They are closer to Persian which is Aryan and distint from turk ethnicity. As for the culture of Bulgars it is distinctly not turk either in Volga Bulgaria region nor Danube Bulgaria. The only point of similarity is islam but that was adopted much later in 9th century by Volga Bulgaria. That was influence from arabs, however and had nothing to do with turks or mongols
