Diane Bish is the perfect alter ego of Ton Koopman. Both artists develop a new way of listenning Bach's pieces of organ. I think this is a good way to give joy and deephtness to these so well known works. A new metaphysical dimension which confirms one thing : Bach is the greatest !
Brilliant performance and interpretation; I don't agree that the tempo is too fast. Diane brings out all the colour and flare of the piece wonderfully.
I have watched this many times over a long period of time and to be honest makes me cry more times than not. It’s, for me perfect. If it’s fast then it’s not noticeable to me. I speak as as an agnostic but love this playing of this piece of music. It’s amazing.
I find myself in agreement with you. Agnostic, atheist, no matter, the music creates an emotion, as it should in anyone with a soul. Seems to me that many people think Diane Bish plays too fast. All I can say is that I love listening to her, and I don't suppose Bach would object to such a virtuoso helping keep his music alive.
And I thought I was the only one who cried hearing such a joyful piece. Every time I hear this piece I’m touched and have also listened to this performance over the years many times as I had recorded it on VCR back in the 80’s. I prefer brisk tempi so I revel in the tempo in this recording.

I've always liked this piece, but this performance seemed "rushed" to me - and this coming from someone who first encountered it as part of Walter Carlos' "Switched on Bach" album.
Technical skills, no doubt. Tempo however is ridiculous, completely destroying the piece. "We Thank Thee God" becomes "Thanks, but we're in a real Hurry" or worse...
Sorry, Jeremy old bean, but she does play it too fast. Sie hört sich an, als wäre sie in einem Rennen um das Ziel und kommt nach Hause, um eine schöne Tasse Tee zu trinken!
What a dreadful performance of this wonderful piece. Folks: if you want to hear a stunning performance, search for Olivier Penin playing the superb Cavaillé-Coll organ at the Ste. Clothilde church in Paris.
A wonderful piece of music performed in a magnificent way!
That wonderful organ was made for this piece.
Beautifully done, not muddy but clearly enunciated. Awesome!

THRILLING THRILLING THRILLING!! We thank Thee oh God for Diane Bish!
Wow, wow, and wow!! Bach certainly was beyond brilliant. To create just one masterpiece like this would be phenomenal. He created hundreds!
Thank s Diane for this marvellous Bach performance 👍👍😊
"Hello congregation, here's something I threw together this week for you." Just wow
Brilliant performance and interpretation; I don't agree that the tempo is too fast. Diane brings out all the colour and flare of the piece wonderfully.
WOW!!! For the first time, words are lost to me.💘
Diane Bish is as much a myrical of Gods work as JSB!
Halelujah!

Ausgezeichnet ! Grusse aus Minnesota, USA
I LOVE DIANE BISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bei dieser Register-Zusammenstellung ist die Cantata unglaublich kraftvoll.
What a wonderful, mighty and wild dancing on the manuals!
Remarkable feet!!!
What a wonderful performance it is! This work is firmly performed by the Lord.
Ausgezeichnet indeed !

Greattttt
Is this a race, a competition, or has the video been speeded up?
bang like a metalhead with this masterpiece
xD
Geweldig gespeeld , grote klasse , dat kan ook alleen in Amerika .
Maravillosa y extraordinaria , toca de memoria y no se equivoca en ninguna nota , es un Ángel hermoso.
If anything anyone else is playing too slow, my favorite version of this
Love her feet 🦶. Great organ feet!
She is amazing
Now that's how you play it son!!!!!
Bravissima!

too fast and it's hard to keep that tempo, she slowed down on at least two occasions
Way too fast and flat.Oh, and loud. But mostly just too fast.
I like it. I'm a switched on bach fan. 🤣
@@larrymerkle1672 Normal tempo - some groups take it faster.

If she's going to play that fast, perhaps she should play it twice.
Technical skills, no doubt. Tempo however is ridiculous, completely destroying the piece. "We Thank Thee God" becomes "Thanks, but we're in a real Hurry" or worse...
Hans Laros it's fast but she is deadly accurate. You should have heard (the dear and very much missed) Carlo Curley play this.....vroooooooom
@@mattbod Carlo Curley was a great showman and a wonderful advocate for the organ but he could still play far too fast!
Hans, go wait outside!
